Australian, in my opinion, is more poetic and complex. Or maybe that's just because I don't immediately understand all of the slang.

American, because there's a lot of good plots and characters and method of writing in general. Simplicity and complex.

Or maybe there is no difference except for the language.

But sometimes translations kill the book!
Ive read fight club both in Swedish and English, and the translation SUCKS!
They have translated stuff so badly! Like Project Mayhem, sounds brutal right?
Well, they have translated it as something like project messaround in Sweden, its devastating to the book.
