crying Leo left them.. or they left him.

There's been a huge and nasty shift in the dynamic of these characters.

The end was really -very- sad to me.
The last line haunts me... Casey saying that he really does have friends.. and then you look over the hill and you only see Raph and Don and Mikey..
I almost expected Leo to be watching over them when the camera pans away to the city but he wasn't there.

"I'll do anything to protect this family" Anything? My my.. that doesn't sound like "bushydoodoo" at all, Leo. Seems to me that Casey has a better understanding of what doing the right thing means after this ep.

Casey has grown.. RAPH seems to be standing in for where Leo has left off as a good leader and big brother. What a stand up guy.. heart

Something better happens soon for Leo to turn around his attitude. He's alienating his brothers and he's alienating himself.

Oddly enough the thing that stuck with me most about this episode is that I realized I'm probably a bad person. I'd like to clarify that I don't feel Casey was weak for not killing Hun, but if I were in that position I would view myself as weak for not killing him. I guess I've realized I feel that compassion towards my enemies would be a weakness, but it's not one I have so I'm not worried there. I do realize that it means I'd make a crappy... well samurai really. I know nothing of ninjas and samurai but don't the TMNT take their "honor" and stuff from samurai teachings? o_O I recall Todd ranting about that... a lot. So yes, that's what I took from this episode.

Also, I am getting so sick of this Leo and it's nice to see that even Mikey's admitting to getting sick of it. It seems that Don's the only one who hasn't vocally acknowledged his brother's attitude shift but he is the quiet one so I guess that makes sense.

The bit with Leo jumping away from Klunk pissed me off. I guess we can just be thankful he didn't yell at the poor cat but hell Klunk doesn't get that Leo's an a**, he just knows he wanted some attention and the dude jumped away from him. stare a**! I want my old Leo back like NOW!

I'll admit at the end when Mikey was on the hood of the car I hoped something bad would happen to him and that would be what started Leo on the road to not being a jerk anymore. Guess not. sad

It seems Leo's attitude is pissing me off continously more and more each episode. I wish Sensei would totally just sit him down, meditate with him, then whack him up the side of the head like Gibbs to DeNozo, and tell him to "Knock it the ******** off!"... only not in so many words.

Loved the poker game in the beginning. Splinter totally whooped them!

Next week's episode had a hilarious preview xd Yay, Nobody's coming back!

I'll so have DVR by next weekend so I may even be able to sleep in and still catch it! WOOT!

And I LOVED Splinter in the visor. *dies* That was a fantastic opening! *L*

about leo at the end - raph even said that what leo said wasn't wrong either. as for leo walking away and the others driving off, i don't think that means they're splitting up. leo just needed some time to walk home and think. he walked away. then the others drove away. they knew they'd meet leo back in the lair later on.

i have faith in leo eventually snapping out of this and being the leo of old. but, here's one for ya....what if raph and the others agree leo isn't wrong and become just as hard-headed and a**l about training and winning as he is? then all 4 of them would be like leo! rofl

anyone think leo not winning the battle nexus tournament could also be fueling some of his anger? ninja

If that happened I would seriously stop watching. But we know it won't so yay! And yeah, non-jerkoff Leo HAS to be coming sometime soon. Even if they weren't planning to end it this season they'd have to realize what a mistake they'd be making if they didn't end it asap! I have faith it will end this season though.

And um... no... Leo didn't win b/c he was busy being nearly killed... again. Unless you're talking about something different that I haven't seen.

Scratch my previous statement about Casey and weakness. Now I am taking into consideration that this is a kids cartoon show so Casey couldn't have killed Hun. But say this happened in the comics, or just some place where he COULD HAVE and didn't.

Yes, I view his compassion towards Hun as a weakness, and here's why:

If you're fighting for the good side you have to be prepared to do what it takes to save people's lives. If you're not willing to kill a badguy to save lives then... well your use is limited. You can save a few lives yes but ultimately you have to be willing to take out the badguy otherwise you've failed in your mission.

yeah, i know he was hit with a dart (IIRC), but maybe he thinks his training wasn't good enough and he should have heard the dart coming or something and went on to win the tournament. *shrugs*

i'm surprised they didn't give raph the role they're currently giving leo. it wouldn't have been that big of a jump in raph's case since he was progressively sort of heading in that direction anyway.

Which is precisely why they didn't give it to him. Seeing Raph where Leo is right now would be nothing. Seeing Leo like this is something big and new, so I mean from a ratings standpoint they would have to assume people are going to tune in just to see wtf is going on with Leo now. Also, you know people are tuning in each week to see if Leo gets some sense knocked into him. I'd be willing to bet that if they hint in the preview for the new episode that Leo "sees the light" that more fans will watch that than any other ep this season. I could be wrong...

Personally though, I think it'd be even more intense to see Donny or Mike go the route Leo's gone. Neither would take it this far though.

Does anybody else here think that Hun was responsible for offing Arnold Sr.?

IIRC, it was only Hun and the Purple Dragons who burned down the place. and IIRC from an old episode, didn't the dad die in the fire or something? Oh wait...that can't be right because in the last episode, Hun told little Casey to give his father a message...so the father would have still been alive...

*forgot how the father died*

In this ep you see Casey's dad going out to "do the right thing" and talk to the police... with a baseball bat. o_O So I think it's just assumed that doing the right thing ended in Hun killing him.

SEE what happens when you do the right thing? What kind of moral is that for the kiddies! (Before anyone argues with me on this I'm JOKING.)
PostPosted: Tue Nov 22, 2005 8:15 am

Okay, I know it's a kid's show but Leo looked like he coulda drop kicked Klunk for a second to me, just before he jumped away. Shell, I think he jumped because he's still got heart enough not to do that very thing to the cute little furry guy.

As for Casey not killing off Hun . . well, here's my 2 cents:
1) yes, it's a kiddy show
2) obviously anything else having to do with Hun would be finished plot-wise if it happened
3) I do feel Casey is the bigger man for not doing it . . only, in a Disney movie that'd be a cue for God to take the slimeball out, so that the hero's hands aren't stained by the act
4) I do agree that Hun deserves to die, though . . he should feel lucky he ain't in a video game or the original TMNT comic, 'cause then his a$$'d be toast, now wouldn't it? wink Shell, at this point I'm guessing that (if given the chance) Lady and I would be offing Hun and Karai, then I'd be holding Leo down while she and Mystic tickled him back to his old self.

As for Leo . . well, I certainly think that he's still being extremely stupid right now, and still "lost" emotionally/spiritually. Why can't he go out in the woods near the farmhouse and get some sense knocked into him by another 8 point buck like he did in the comic??? I swear, it looks like somebody's earned himself some time in the "Harmony Hut", hasn't he?

Splinter at the beginning was . . scary, frankly -- and his use of the word "suckers" not only made me laugh . . it then made me think "Sensei, aren't you suppossed to be above that kind of stuff!?"

[Edit] I had to change my avi in honor of that... y'know and it goes with the whole Thanksgiving thing too.
