On Wednesdays I attend my mother's church for youth group with my younger sisters.
I originally only went to give support to my sisters, then realized that they also had a group for young adults. So it soon became more than just me showing up to me involving myself with the plentiful of other young adults who attend there as well.
I've become good friends with one of the youth pastors. As the only goth there, he's asked me to write a message to the youth on the topic of "Embracing our Differences." I have agreed to do so, eager to explain difference does not equal wrongness.
I figured the best way to begin writing this is finding scripture to found a solid basis on and writing around that.
So here I am, asking you fellow gothic christians;
"What Scripture(s) should I base my message topic of 'Embracing our Differences'"
Any further ideas or input would be most appreciated.

I'm in a bit of a situation.
The F.A.Q of ChristianGoth.com contains a graphic which on it reads.
"It is important to realize that God uses different people in different ways. Many people try to pour others into their own mold of ministry. God is the God of diversity, not similarity. (1 Corinthian 12)"
I've tried finding this passage in numerous bibles, but have been unable to find it.
Can anyone lend any assistance?

They were paraphrasing what that chapter says. It doesn't say it in those words, it's just their version of it.

I'm not sure how well paraphrasing will hold up when trying to give this message. x.x

Well, maybe you shouldn't use that graphic. That's the only thing I can think of.

Have you considered asking Lady Michaela (the founder of the website) for help?

Another Website BTW. http://www.gothicchristianity.com/01gchome.htmlIt's a paraphrase. (King James Version) http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1 Corinthians 12;&version=9;(NIV Version) http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+12I recommend reading the WHOLE thing. You can find many good quotes from it. I prefer King James Version myself, but I have a Biblical theology degree. Anything not pure KJV or NKJV makes me mad. xd I recommend this scripture...... 1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” Romans 15:7 Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
