No she is right they do not make money on console after the initial launch and they are then forced to sell at a loss. Heck retailers only make around $5 on a console sale.
their profits come from the games and all the other accessories
Sony needs you to buy at least 8 PS2 games before they see their money back on a console
Microsoft needed 10 game sales for the xbox
