Guild Event -- "Grand Zanpakutou Awards"

If you're a Bleach fan (I'm taking a wild guess and assuming that you are xp ) you've probably heard that Yamamoto-Genryūsai is said to possess the most powerful fire-based Zanpakutou in all of Soul Society, or that Toushirou Hitsugaya possesses the strongest ice-based one. And power is not all that matters, Kuchicki Rukia for example, is famous for having the most beautiful snow and ice Zanpakutou.

But what about in our Guild? Who has the strongest elemental Zanpakutou? Who owns the most beautiful one, or the most unique?

Well, that's what we are about to find out anyway, with the help of this little poll! whee

~ WARNING ~ It's imperative that you read this thoroughly. Disobeying any of the rules (either on purpose of by lack of information) will result in your disqualification from this event!

So read them twice if you need to.

:: Rules ::


~Golden Rule~

Anyone caught disobeying the rules, will be disqualified. Meaning, he/she would not be able to be nominated for any category nor will be able to cast his/her vote (having his/her vote nullified, if it already had been made). Disqualifications does not nullify nominations made (meaning that if you've been disqualified, the people that had nominated you, won't simply regain the right to nominate someone else in your stead).


-- Only Shinigami RPC that belong to any of the 13th Squads can be nominated for the main categories.
There are some few categories for RPCs who does not belong to the Gotei 13 anymore.

-- RPers cannot nominate their own RPCs.

-- RPers cannot vote for their own RPCs.

-- Captains and Vice-Captains of the Gotei 13 cannot nominate another Captain or VC, though they can later vote for them.

-- A single RPC can be nominated for more than one category.

-- A single RPC can only win at one category.
If the character in question gets first place in more than one, the RPer will have to chose only one.
Ex.: Shinigami-A wins three categories. He gets first place in "most powerful fire-based Zanpakutou", "most beautiful fire-based Zanpakutou" and "most unique fire-based Zanpakutou". He chooses to win "most powerful fire based Zanpakutou". The remaining two categories are then awarded to the second most voted RPCs in them. And the process repeats itself if there are any more draws.

:: How to Vote ::

There will be two phases for this contest.

~~ First phase ~~

The nominees for each category will be chosen. Anyone can nominee his/her favorite RPC for all the categories. The rules are:

-- Captains and Vice-Captains of the Gotei 13 cannot nominate other Captains or VCs.

-- RPers cannot nominate their own RPCs.

-- You can only nominate one RPC for each category, but you can nominate RPCs for every available category. You don't have to nominate RPC to all the categories though, if you don't want to.

-- You can nominate the same RPC for several different categories.

-- A RPC only needs to be nominated once in order to qualify to the voting phase. So there's no need for you to chose a RPC that has already been chosen by someone else. Why not pick another RPC instead?!

-- When nominating someone, make sure that the RPC you want to nominate qualifies for that category. Invalid nominations will be disregarded. - but they will still count towards your limit (meaning that if one of your nominees is invalid, you won't get to pick someone else.)

-- To make a nomination, just post in this same thread the categories you want to nominate someone for and the name of the nominee.

~~ Second phase ~~

In this phase, you will vote for the RPCs who've been nominated.
You can cast your vote via PM to this account -- Captain MockaDash.

Anyone can vote, providing they don't vote on themselves.

On your PM, you can vote for several categories (not necessarily all) but you must only select a single person for each category.

.:: Categories ::.



There are three main groups of categories.

A main one for Gotei 13 Shinigamis. Any Shinigami belonging to any of the 13 Squad can be nominated to any of these categories. The second group is for Shinigamis as well, but those who no longer belong to a squad. Vizards, Kyokugaisha, and other exiled Shinigamis for example, can be nominated.
The final group is a bonus one. Non-Shinigami RPCs can be nominated for these categories.

The headings for each group are hyperlinks to the full list of categories found below.

~~ Gotei 13 Shinigami ~~

Gotei 13 Shinigami can be nominated for:

-- Most powerful Zanpakutou;

-- Most beautiful Zanpakutou;

-- Most unique Zanpakutou;

-- Special/Extra Categories;

-- All elements are separate Categories.

~~ Non-Gotei 13 Shinigami ~~

Unaffiliated Shinigami, Uniffiliated Zaigou, and Vizards, can be nominated for:

-- Most powerful Zanpakutou;

-- Most beautiful Zanpakutou;

-- Most unique Zanpakutou;

-- Less Categories than the Gotei 13, since many are merged into one;

-- The Unorthodox and Elemental Categories include several others into just these ones.

~~ Extra ~~

Non-Shinigami (any Arrancar, Quincies, and Bount) characters can be nominated for:

-- Most Powerful Resurrección;

-- Most beautiful Resurrección;

-- Most Unique Resurrección;

-- Veteran Quincy;

-- Veteran Bount.

.:: Categories Description ::.


In this section I'll explain what each category refers to. Also, the fact that there are three branches for most (basically to all except the Quincy and Bounto awards) of the categories.



:: The 3 Branches ::

Each category entry for the first two groups (Gotei 13 Shinigamis and Unaffiliated Shinigamis) and the Arrancars as well, is actually three separate categories. These are the branches, and they are Most Powerful, Most beautiful, and Most Unique.

~~ Most Powerful ~~

Most powerful Zanpakutou is pretty straightforward. It's the one than can cause the most damage, avoid/deflect most attacks, conjure great amount of energy, basically, do amazing things.
There really is no need to further this description, as I believe that just by readying its name (most powerful), everyone understands what it stands for.

~~ Most Beautiful ~~

Most Beautiful Zanpakutou is a bit more relative title than most powerful. It can refer to the beauty of the Zanpakutou itself on any of its released states, it can refer to the attacks or abbilities that the Zanpakutou possesses, or it can even refer to the Zanpakutou's Spirit or everything else that is linked to it's shikai or bankai. - it does not, however, has anything to do with the person wielding the weapon.
So consider the following examples: while one ice-based Zanpakutou is able to shot icicles, the other creates large versions of pure white ice crystal; while one Zanpakutou is a simple katana, the other is embellished with precious gems and patterns; while one's Spirit is a hairy beast, the other is a beautiful princess dressed in white. It's clear that in all of the above examples, the second one is more beautiful (even if the first could be more powerful).
That's what we're aiming at in this category.

~~ Most Unique ~~

This branch refers to uniqueness. Uniqueness can come in many ways - similar to beauty. You can have an unique Zanpakutou because of its form, of its abbilities, etc.
For example, having tonfas instead of a katana for a shikai, is most certainly unique. Or having a power that does some weird and uncommon effect, instead of simply a release of lightning or any other form of direct attack, is also more unique.

:: The Categories ::

~~ Elemental ~~

Elements can be: fire, water, wind, earth, ice, lightning, nature, metal, darkness, light, and blood. A single Zanpakutou can fit into several elements (the Shinigami who owns such Zanpakutou can be nominated for all of these categories, but he/she can only win one).
For example blood can be dark for some Shinigami, and twilight can be dark and/or light. Healing can be light. Void can be dark. etc...
Note that only Gotei 13 Shinigamis have all these elements as separate categories. The others can simply apply to "elemental" as a whole.

~~ Kidou ~~

Kidou-based Zanpakutou are the ones who deal with non-elemental damage or have a unique trait and power (draining reiatsu, confusing opponents, and such). Think of Hinamori Momo from the Bleach series.

~~ Attack or Defense ~~

Think Kenpachi for the first one and Unohana Retsu for the second.

~~ Unorthodox ~~

It's one that doesn't fit with any of the above descriptions. Think Komamura Sajin or Kira Izuru.

~~ Dual ~~

Straightforward. It's having two weapons for a single release of the Zanpakutou, like having two katanas or a double bladed naginata.

~~ Animal Transformation ~~

It refers to being able to transform into an animal as part of the release of your Zanpakutou. This is not the same as being a kitsune or another anthropomorphic creature! You are a human who turns into an animal because of your Zanpakutou, and not because you simply can.

All the following categories include most powerful, most beautiful, and most unique Zanpakutou. - example: The fire elemental entry refers to three different categories, most powerful fire-based, most beautiful fire-based, and most unique fire-based.

NOTE: There isn't separate categories for each element. The "Unorthodox" category includes the "Kidou", "Dual Zanpakutou" and the "Animal Transformation". Attack and Defense are merged into a single category (either you win attack, or you win defense, and if one's been awarded the other won't).

Just post the names of the characters and their respective usernames of the ones you wish to nominate for each categories (any number of categories). There's no strict form you should follow, as long as you specify the category, and the name of both the RPer and the RPC. - Remember: You can only nominate one character for each category, but you can repeat the same character on different categories.
