Any other lion might have been bored, but Kataa'tamaa was enjoying herself quite nicely. She was laying in a little sunny spot in the usual area she occupied, enjoying the warmth and taking it easy. She never had a reason to rush and anybody who might need her knew where to find her so she was set to spend some time laying about. She wasn't quite napping now, though. She thought of Bari and her young family, smiling. She looked about at the "decorations" she had found for the spot, with some help, of course. Even the extended family, they were getting along just fine. She was feeling very calm and very happy. Never mind that she didn't socialize much.

Provisionary. That was the rank Tekenya and his extended family had gotten when they had finally reached the Swamplands. He had found the title fitting he supposed, although he hoped that they would be found worthy enough to stay. He knew he himself could come off as annoying, but he couldn't change that, it was just how he was. He wondered what Hit was doing, he had wandered away from the purple lion that morning thinking that it would be good for him to explore the pride on his own some. He didn't want to seem like he was snubbing everyone except for those in his traveling group.
That was how he found himself in a place completely unknown, granted much of the pride lands were unknown to him because he hadn't explored all that much, but still. Glancing around his golden eyes spotted a brown lump not too far off and he smiled. He'd go and ask her where he was and how to get back to the sleeping dens. Padding over to her he stopped a couple feet away from the lioness and smiled. "Hello there, my names Tekenya. I'm new to the pride, just came in with a group of other lions, maybe you saw us, but then again maybe you didn't. Anyways, I was exploring and I seem to have gotten myself thoroughly lost, I'm trying to get back to the sleeping dens, I've been wandering around for quite a while now and I fear that these swamps can really get you turned about. Oh, where are my manners, what might your name be?" He smiled, easily talking a mile a minute as if that's how he always talked, which it was.

Tamaa's eyes were drawn to the pale lion when he approached her. She smiled when he started to speak, patiently waiting for him to finish as he quickly and thoroughly described the situation he was in. As he finished by asking her for her name, she slowly untangled her feet from beneath her and stood up.
"My name is Kataa'tamaa," she introduced herself once she was upright, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Tekenya. I do recall seeing your group arrive. Me and my family are new here as well but I believe I can help you find your way." She hoped she'd managed to address everything he said, but he had spoken quite quickly. She got his name, that he was new and lost. That was certainly enough to start with.

Teke watched as the other lioness started to stand, and he was glad she hadn't told him to take a hike right off. Maybe the lions in this pride would be able to tolerate him better than the lions he had met in his travels with Hit and their expanded family. His tail twitched and his ears pricked towards her politely listening as she spoke to him. Kataa'tamaa. He repeated the name in his head and decided he liked it, it sort of rolled of his tongue. Hearing that she was new as well made him feel abashed, he had just assumed that she was a long standing pride member that would be able to give him directions. Well, that taught him to assume things from looks alone.
"Oh, I apologize, you just looked so peaceful and like you fit right in that I assumed you had been born into the pride. Are you sure you want to take time out of your day? I could go find someone else it's really no bother to me, I seem to spend a lot of time just looking for lions." He chuckled before he remembered something else he had wanted to say. "Oh, and I hope you don't think it's too forward of me to say, but you're name is very pretty, Kataa'tamaa, it rolls off the tongue nicely if I do say so myself." His mind caught up to the fact that she had mentioned family coming in with her as well and he tried to remember if he had seen anyone else that looked like her in the pride. He couldn't quite remember to be honest, he had seen a lot of lions over the short time they had been there.

"Don't apologize, it's alright. I wouldn't say you were entirely wrong to assume that," she said brightly, though she didn't bother to explain it, "I don't mind helping, it's just about time I usually take a walk anyway. It took me a while to really find my way around, you'll catch on."
She smiled when he complimented her name. It was something she was proud of, her name. It was something they all should be proud of here, everyone's name meant something. Something more than just a name given by a parent, though that certainly was meaningful.
"Thank you very much, Tekenya," she said, "Have you thought about your own name?" She asked out of curiosity, hoping that she didn't mistakenly forget that he had already taken a new name.
