Zyanya liked this time of day. She smiled, happily stretched over a rock, a front paw in the air as her tail curled and twitched. The colors the sun made when setting were brilliant! There were just a few clouds, now looking far from white and fluffy, more like purple, pink and orange. Yep, definitely a very nice time of day! Probably tied up with sunrise on her list of favorite times-of-day. You know, that list she didn't really keep.
Now, lets just try and stay awake to enjoy it, but being so comfy hardly helped her eyes stay open.

Al-Hattal was also a fan of sunsets, in large part because that meant the sun was going away. It could get annoyingly hot for him, what with his dark coat and thick mane. Evenings and nights were definitely better times for the roaming lion to be out and about, while days were best spent sleeping in whatever shade he could find. It was exactly what he'd been doing up until a few minutes ago, when he'd reluctantly risen and set off in search of something interesting - which meant food or a female.
Seeing a spotted figure - cheetah, he assumed - lounging on a rock, he headed in that direction.

Pretty sunset, getting a little darker. Slow, sleepy blink. A liittle darker. Blink... black spot? Hm. No more blinking.
She didn't quite recall the crazy colors of the sunset really making black spots that seemed.. above shadows. So either this was a phenomenon, or... oh, a black lion. He's getting closer too. Waaitaminute. Closer. Meaning he was probably approaching deliberately. Okay, he's a lion, which can mean two things; he's either here to chase me off, kill me, or.. well, be nice. Maybe.
Zyanya decided she'd take her chances, because he wasn't puffing up or looking pissed, from here. So instead she just rolled onto her belly to look a bit.. neater, not like a dog rolling around in a pile of pillows.
She considered greeting him, but... then, decided best let him do it first.

Approaching others was always a bit of a gamble - they could be friendly, aggressive, defensive, or downright scared. He was a lone male lion after all, and his type could have a bit of a reputation. Not that he hadn't stolen a kill or two in his time, but never from a lady...and as he got closer, he saw that this cheetah was indeed female; she didn't quite have the 'mane' that males of her species did.
And she didn't seem frightened, which was good. He stopped not far from her perch and settled into a sit, dipping his head respectfully. "Good evening, Miss."

Ah-ha! So he was nice, okay. Thats good. So now all there was to do was to be nice, too. Which was easy. "Good eveni-ing. " There was that weird moment when she'd greeted perhaps too cheerfully, then caught herself mid 'evening' and tried to cool it down a bit, because she wasn't sure how cheerful she should be. Oops.
Well, that was weird. Okay, moving on. "Sorry, did I trespass? "

Al-Hattal was never one to mind a cheerful greeting! He quite liked them, as a matter of fact. They had a tendency to bode well, for pleasant company at the very least.
"Trespassing? Oh, not at all!" he assured her. "I was just passing by and thought I might say hello."

Oh, phew, she hadn't weirded him out or anything. And she hadn't trespassed, either! Which was probably best right now, it'd be rather unfortunate if some angry lion (or hyena, or whatever) came running at her screaming 'get off my property!'
"Ooh, okay. So you're a traveler? "

"I am indeed," he answered with a nod of his head. "I assume you are as well?" It was a fair assumption, he figured, since she'd been worried she was trespassing.

"You could say that, " She supposed she was, but a part of her mind told her aimlessly wandering and traveling was a bit different. Or maybe they were the same thing. Not that it mattered. "I'm Zyanya, by the way. "

"Oh! My apologies, I forgot to introduce myself." It had been quite remiss of him, really! "I am Al-Hattal, or Al-Ha if you like. It's a pleasure to meet you, Zyanya, and on such a lovely evening."

"It's no problem! " She said, though after that she'd almost been sure it was a rhetorical apology. Funny how those existed, wasn't it? "A pleasure to meet you too, Al-Ha! " She smiled, decided she liked his nickname, but his name was cool too. All the.. al's. "And it is lovely! "

"Would you mind if I shared your rock?" he asked hopefully. "Not that I don't mind the view from down here, but all this looking up may give me a crick in my neck. If you don't object to my company, of course."

Oh! She probably should have offered. "No objections here! " She nodded, shifting to the side to give him more room, keeping in mind that he probably needed more than she did. Lions were pretty big, weren't they?

"Thank you very much," Al-Ha said gratefully, scaling the rock to settle down on it - close to Zyanya, but not too close. Things were always a little more hit-or-miss with ladies of non-lion persuasion.
"There, that's better. Nice and warm, too," he noted.

"No problem. " Zyanya nodded, not at all minding how close he was. There wasn't much Zy actually minded, really. "Yep! " But it was probably gonna get colder soon, she mentally noted, since it was starting to darken, the pretty pinks, purples and oranges were fading. Yes, sad how one of her favorite-times-of-the-day ended so quickly!
