I know alot of people have different ideas about what emo is. To be honest, i don't really have a definition or anything. I was just wondering what your opinions on the matter is.

I think 'Emo' is many things.
Its a stereotypical label, a fashion, a genre of music and a lifestyle in a way.
Emo, to me, is a mix of all those things ^^"

By genre, I mean that most kids proclaiming to be "emo" don't know jack s**t what the music genre is. you mean the genre that started in the 80s and has changed almost completely? i agree with that. i think emo is a fashion, music genre, and lifestyle, something that no other genre can claim to be.

i think that "emo" means emotional (which includes everyone in the entire world) but i think that society has warped the meaning of this word to only include people who have a bleak outlook on life. or on a more shallow level society says your "emo" if you wear skinny jeans or have your hair combed over one of your eyes and i think this is a major load of bulls**t.
i have a pretty bleak outlook on life but thats not why i consider myself emo, i consider myself emo because if im in a bad mood people know im in a bad mood, if im happy people know im happy. basiclly i consider myself emo because i let people see my emotions

And I don't mean Yellowcard and Simple Plan.

i think emo is nothing but a label conformists us to brand individuals that dont do act and think the same way they do. "emo" is nothing but a word a three letter word thats it. u cant name wat u r u can only be u thats all.

emo to me is the a fasion and emotional status, it is a strong change from when you finily understand what this horrible world realy is. this destructive sorrowful world.
