My Pokedex

Thank you to all the people that put this info up on the guild

#155, Cyndaquil
Intersting Fact: Hinoarashi, Cyndaquils japanese name, can be tranlsated into 'fire storm' and is a pun of yamaarashi, the old owrd for 'porcupine'
Pokedex Entry: When not seen curled up, Cyndaquil are covered with dull-yellow fur with a rich streak of blue running from the tip of its snout over its head and spreading out to cover the majority of its back. There are also four spots of red fur on the back; these have special characteristics (see below). Due to its timidity, few have ever seen Cyndaquil with its eyes fully opened, so a proper eye color has not been documented. While it is a quadruped, Cyndaquil is more than capable of maneuvering on two legs.Though it is called the Fire Mouse Pokémon, Cyndaquil bears a closer resemblance to the echidna, porcupine or hedgehog than the mouse. Although it is not covered in physical spines like these animals, when Cyndaquil is frightened or angry, it can focus its internal energy to produce blazing "spines" of flame from the red vent spots on its back. Cyndaquil's fur is flame-resistant, as is that of the other two Pokémon in its evolutionary line.

Cyndaquil are generally timid and not naturally aggressive, and are often seen curled into a ball for protection. This action leaves its back and special flame-emitting vent fur exposed. When predators and enemies stalk too close, Cyndaquil unleashes a furious flame from the vents as a deterrent. If provoked further, Cyndaquil will intensify its flames, creating a smokescreen that will buy it some time to escape

#156, Quilava
Intersting Fact:'quils' are hollow and are genreally on porcupines for protection. They pierce the skin and are very painful
Pokedex Entry: Quilava are noted for their speed, and can nimbly evade attacks while scorching their enemies. They can also create gusts of superheated air. The non-flammable fur on a Quilava's back allows it to withstand any Fire-type attack, as well as burn enemies in close contact. PLus, they're really cute!

#16 Pidgey
Interesting Fact: Pidgey's name could have derived from 'pudgey pidgeon', or just plain 'Pidgeon'
Pokedex Entry:It is quite docile and non-confrontational. Often found hiding in tall grass and foraging for small insects to eat, it does its best to avoid battle. Its two shades of brown feathers and black stripes behind its eyes (possibly working like a tiger's stripes) would make a good camouflage for sandy or grassy areas. It will either blow small or weak foes away with its Whirlwind, or use kick up dust in a Sand Attack to blind its enemy. It dwells in forests and grassy areas, and is able to return to its nest from anywhere thanks to an astoundingly sharp sense of direction.
Pidgeys are common throughout large cities and they often make their home on the ledges of tall buildings or tall structures.
Its main prey are Caterpie, Weedle, and Wurmple.
Pidgey are one of the easiest Pokemon to capture and tame due to their docile nature. Capturing a Pidgey is a good test of a beginning trainer's abilities.

#161 Sentret
Interesting Fact: Sentret's name is a portmanteau of Sentry and Ferret. Its Japanese is a portmanteau of 尾 (o, 尾?), tail, and 立ち (tachi, 立ち?), stand. Otachi thus translates to "standing on its tail".
Pokedex Entry: Sentret bears some resemblance to a flying squirrel, but with rabbitlike ears and a long, round tail. A very cautious Pokémon, it raises itself up onto its tail to get a better view of its surroundings. While standing on its tail, it can see a long way. If it spots an enemy, it will cry out loudly to warn its kind. It will also hit the ground with its tail.

A Sentret will only sleep when another one is standing guard. The Sentret will wake the others at the first sign of danger. Because of this, if one is separated from its pack, then it will be unable to sleep due to fear.

#13 Weedle
Interesting Fact:The Advanced Generation drawing and sprite design of Weedle was created by Ken Sugimori’s team for Pokémon FireRed’s 2003 release on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance.[3]
Pokedex Entry:Commonly spotted in the forests and grasslands, eating leaves, it is well-protected from predators by a sharp two-inch barb on its head which secretes a strong poison, and another stinger on its rear. Sniffing with its big red proboscis, Weedle uses its extremely acute sense of smell to find the types of leaves it likes, avoiding those it dislikes

#69 Bellsprout
Interesting Facts: Bellsprout's name is derived from the words "bell", referring to its bell-shaped head, and "sprout", which is a young plant growth. "Bluebell" may be another influence on its name. It may be of interest to know that "tsubomi" means "flower bud", hence, its Japanese name: "madatsubomi".

Poke'dex Entry: Bellsprout is a carnivorous, plant-like Pokémon, hunting small insects with blinding agility despite its skinny body. It tends to ensnare its prey in its vines and devour it, in much the same way as real carnivorous plants do. Bellsprout's preferred habitat is warm and humid climates, since it can absorb more moisture from the ground when planting its root-like feet inside it.

In battle, Bellsprout can take advantage of its flexibility to bend and sway its way out of the range of its opponent's attacks, no matter how powerful they may be. However, it will be helpless to escape if it decides to plant its roots in search of water. In terms of offense, Bellsprout can spit out of its mouth a highly corrosive fluid that can melt even iron.

Because its bud looks like a human face, Bellsprout is considered in the Pokémon world to be a type of the legendary mandrake plant, although in real world lore the human-like part of a mandrake is actually its roots.

#11 Metapod
Interesting Fact: Metapod’s name is probably a combination of “metamorphosis” and “pod”. Also metal can also play in, due to its hard shell. Its Japanese name, Transel, is thought to be derived from the prefix “trans-” and “cell” (as in biology).
Pokedex Entry:Metapod appears as a large, bright-green chrysalis, and only its eyes are visible within. Inside, Metapod’s body is very weak and tender, making it extremely vulnerable while its shell is still soft. Although the shell quickly hardens to the toughness of an iron slab, Metapod is still at risk, as a harsh impact may damage its soft body inside or even cause it to pop out. For this reason, and to conserve energy, Metapod barely moves, instead preparing itself within its shell for its impending evolution

#165 Ledyba
Interesting Fact: Ledyba (レディバ in original Japanese language versions) is a corrupted version of the word ladybug.
Pokedex Entry: Ledyba resembles a ladybird. It has a red thorax with black spots, a cream-coloured underbelly, six legs and two black antennae.

By itself a Ledyba is very timid, to the point of being afraid to move. When Ledyba become part of a swarm, they become much more active and can cluster next to each other for warmth in cold weather.

A Ledyba communicates with others through an aromatic fluid excreted from the points where its legs meet its thorax. By subtly changing the fluid's scent, the Ledyba can convey a number of different feelings. The fluid can also help to determine a Ledyba's location as well as its current feelings.

#91 Gastly
Interesting Facts: Gastly's name comes from the word ghastly, meaning horrible to behold, intentionally corrupted by the word gas, which is prominent in Gastly's anatomy. Its Japanese name is either a misspelling of ghost or possibly a combination of the words ghost, gas and ghastly . In the English translation, Gastly was originally going to be called "Spirit".

Poke'dex Entry: Gastly consists of a dark sphere (its "head") surrounded by a light purple gas. A Gastly has two large eyes with tiny pupils and two vampire-like teeth. Its appearance is likely based on the Japanese concept of hitodama.

Gastly is made of a very thin, gas-like substance, which grants it certain powers and weaknesses. Some say it is an other-dimensional lifeform, while others believe it is formed from toxic gas. It can sneak into any place if it so wishes thanks to the invasive properties of gas molecules. It can render itself nearly invisible and approach enemies undetected, and can envelop said enemies regardless of their size and induce sleepiness, slow poisoning through the skin, or even suffocation.

On the other hand, Gastly's negligible weight and gaseous nature make it very easy for it to be blown off or even scattered to nothingness under a strong wind (although it is presumed the molecules can regroup later). A Gastly will not appear in windy weather if it can help it, but when it finds itself threatened by a strong wind, it clusters in groups under the eaves of houses to protect itself.

Gastly is said to frequent decrepit, deserted buildings. It is perhaps worth noting that even though Gastly and the rest of the Ghost-type Pokémon fit some stereotypes attributed to ghosts, it has a measurable weight, can faint in battle, and breed with other Pokémon—all unusual traits for a supposedly dead entity.

#23 Ekans
Interesting Fact: Ekans backwards is 'snake'
Pokedex Entry:Ekans is an omnivore. It can be diurnal or nocturnal. Although it hunts in grasslands, it sleeps in trees, curled up into a ball. Ekans' appearance is similar to that of a normal rattlesnake, except that it is purple with yellow eyes with a matching ring around its neck.
Like normal snakes, its tongue can be used to 'taste' the air, sensing danger and nearby presences. Unlike normal snakes, which are born with the most potent poison, Ekans have no poison at all when just hatched.
Its natural prey are the eggs of Pidgey and Spearow. However, it will eat larger prey if it can catch it, distending its jaw to swallow it.
Ekans can be found in hot dry canyon areas.

User Image
#187 Hoppip
Interesting Fact: The name Hoppip is a combination of the words hop, to jump with short leaps, and pip, the term for small seeds within fruit. The names of the Hoppip family, Hoppip, Skiploom and Jumpluff, come from words that all mean to leap high. The names also form a sort of pun from the phrase "A hop, a skip, and a jump away," meaning a short distance. Hoppip are small, spherical creatures, with long leaves protruding from their head. They have small, gripping feet and ears disproportinate to their body, used to listen for winds.
Pokedex Entry: Hoppip have very light bodies, and are susceptible to strong winds due to this. When a Hoppip feels a gale approaching, it will lock the leaves on its head with the leaves of other Hoppip, in an attempt to not be blown away. If a Hoppip is by itself when in heavy winds, it may grip the ground with its feet to prevent this. Despite the dangers Hoppip face in strong winds, they enjoy gentle breezes and can float on the calmest of winds, which can even carry them vast distances.

#194 Wooper
Interesting Fact: Wooper's Japanese name is (ウパー, Upā) Upah
Pokedex Entry: Wooper is an axolotl-like Pokémon. They will usually live in cold water, however, they occasionally come out onto land in search of food. When doing so, they coat their bodies with slimy, poisonous film. Touching this barehandedly will cause a shooting pain.

User Image
User Image
#179 Mareep
Interesting Fact: Mareep's name may be derived from the character Mary, in the Mary had A little lamb traditional nursery rhyme associated with sheep and the word sheep. The name Mareep is also an anagram of the word, ampere, a unit of electric current. Mareep closely resemble a sheep, however, they have long, striped tails with a yellow ball at the tip. Their fleece is yellow, while their bodies are a dark blue colour. Their ears are a rounded cone shape and channel the electricity that they keep in their fleece.
Pokedex Entry: Mareep are said to build up a stockpile of static electricity by rubbing the fluffy woolen fleece on their body, with that of other Mareep. The electricity is then stored in their fleece, and will shock predators on contact. The more electricity that is stored, the brighter the ball on the tip of a Mareep's tail is thought to glow. In summer, the fleece is fully shed, but would grow back within a week. Mareep also are thought to store air in the fleece, enabling it to control its body temperature whatever the weather.
