Welcome first years to the Hogwarts Ickle Firsties Protection Program! I'm fellow student Jessica Hallows from Ravenclaw. Now I know how hard it can be trying to maneuver your way through the school, but don't be alarmed. I'm here to help you. I'll be available to answer any questions you have, but here are some basic questions that we can get out of the way.
I'll be adding questions when I think of them. Feel free to post down below and I will answer any questions as soon as I possibly can! Enjoy your time here at Hogwarts now that you are prepared for what is in store!
Q: I've just been invited into Hogwarts. What do I do now?
A: Go see the Sorting Hat and answer a few questions.
Q: Okay, I've done that. What's next?
A: You wait for a Professor to sort you. It can take up to a day depending on how busy the Professor is. Check back with the Sorting Hat and look at your answers. It'll be stated at the bottom of your post and color coded.
Q: I don't like what house I've been put in. Can I change my answers and be put somewhere else?
A: No. The Sorting Hat knows best. You just have to live with what you're given I'm afraid.
Q: Do I have to type in the color they told me or can I use purple instead?
A: Once you have been assigned a house, you MUST use this color. It makes it easier for the teachers and Prefects to know which house you're from so that they may know what house to give/take away points from.
Q: How do we know who has how many points?
A: You can go check that at the Hour Glasses. It states how many points each house currently has and below lists the reasons as well as the people that the points were given away to or taken from.
Q: Now that I've been sorted, what do I do?
A: Go and make a post in your common room real quick, perhaps add some information on yourself so that you can become more friendly with the others in your house. After that, I suggest you go and check out the classes we have available that you can take.
Q: What do we do in the classes?
A: Well this IS a school. You learn about whatever the class is about and are even gviven out assignments. Depending on how you respond to things in class and if you get your work done or not, points can be awarded or taken away.
Q: Do we get to have Quidditch teams?
A: As of the moment we don't have any. Later on though the Professors will decide who will become Quidditch Captains and I suppose it will gon on from there. Please don't go about bugging them to be one. They will choose it in time and badgering them won't get you anywhere.
Q: You said something about Prefects.
A: Correct. Two students from each house will be selected each month to be the Prefects. They have control over the points just like the teachers do. Once again, please don't bug them about becoming one. More than likely, it will discourage them from picking you.
