Strongear had grown a lot since the last time he and Saffron had spoken.. he of course still called her Ani in his mind... she had a lot of trouble with her pack name last time they spoke. Since the last time though he had been a busy dog. His mate, Twana had moved into the pack with him and she was getting rather accustom to everything around the area.
Strongear was walking around the pack lands, it wsa the middle of the night and most were out and about doing their jobs. As an adolescent Strongear was starting to truly consider what he should be doing to help his pack. Of course he hadn't come up with any ideas yet, well that wasn't quite true he had a few ideas he just hadn't settled on anything. He was having far much fun just living for the day.. or should he say night.
As he walked towards father tree he saw Saffron, it had been so long he almost didn't recognize her. She was large know, very large. Strongear knew enough to understand that she wasn't fat but pregnant. Had Saffron met a mate here... Strongear made a mental note to stay better in contact with some of his friends instead of venturing off the pack lands to meet others, others he hadn't met before as he approached her rather large side. "Hi Saffron, long time no talk." he greeted her wondering if she would still recognize him.

Saffron was a little suprised to see Strongear again. It had been a while. And he had been... smaller. He must be a teenager now, the same age Gin had been when she met him... how long ago had that been? A long time... how much older than her mate was she anyway? She had no real idea... oh well, it didn't matter she supposed. She had no idea how old she was either.
"Oh... Strongear..." She said quietly, tilting her head thoughtfully, "How nice to see you again." Saffron mentioned, sitting down and tilting her head thoughtfully, "What have you been doing...?"
She supposed what she had been up to was... fairly obvious, all things considered. She was getting close to having her pups, though she really had no idea how to tell. She only really paid much attention because Gin was so excited... so she supposed that she was kind of excited too. Who knew what the pups would be like when they were born?

Strongear smiled and sat down next to Saffron, he was happy that she still knew who he was. "I haven't been doing to much, exploring mostly. I have been out in the dessert a couple times I have met so may others it really is quite interesting really." He smiled at the older dog.
"I guess I don't have to ask what you have been up to." he said nudging her. He was trying to jest seeing if he could get her to smile. "Do you know when you pups might be coming?" he asked. Strongear loved seeing pups around the pride, he was still a child at heart so he quite liked having young ones around that he could play with.

Saffron tilted her head and listened, but her general inability to make facial expression had managed to continue throughout her life, and she really had no intention of showing how she really felt to anyone. Why bother? She knew who she was, and was loved for it... plus, it always suprised Gin when she cracked a smile and he didn't expect it from her.
"Yes... I suppose not. I have a mate now, Silvertongue... it's strange. I knew him from when he was younger... when we met again, I suppose we simply... found that we belonged. Very odd." Saffron mentioned, straight to the point as always, "I'm not sure when they'll be here... soon I think, though I am not certain. Silvertongue is quite excited."

Strongear smiled and nodded along. Unlike his current pal Zuberi had no problem showing his emotions. And often his emotions where happy go lucky, he was great at having fun.
"Well I can understand Slivertounge being excited new pups can be fun. Of course I have never had to raise them my self. I just like finding them around the pack and playing with them. Perhaps they would be less fun raising them I am not sure." Strongear trailed of realizing perhaps he was making Safron nervous about raising new pups.

Saffron tilted her head, not understanding why Strongear had stopped talking to her. She really wasn't nervous about having the pups... in fact, she was rather curious about what they would be like and look like, rather than concerned about her parenting skills.
"I am rather... curious. Pups are always so pleasent... I would like mine to be also." She mentioned thoughtfully, tilting her head towards the sky, "They do not judge... it makes them... loving. I would like them to be like that... I wonder if they will be like Silvertongue or myself..."

Zuberi pondered about what she had said, was it true were cubs usually like either their father or their mother. If that was the case who was he like. He would like to think he was like his mom, but really he had now way of knowing.... he had never known his father. He shook his head, as he got older Zuberi got less and less bothered by the fact his father was never around, truth been told his latest activities may have led to fatherless pups, but he didn't want to think about it that way.
"I think they will be a combination, possibly there could even be ones that aren't like either of you, or maybe a combination?" it was interesting to think that the pups could share attitudes and personalities with their parents, "Now you have me interested in finding out what they will be like. You are so unique Saffron, I don't think there could be another one of you other."
He meant what he said as a compliment, he enjoyed how unique Saffron was, you were never quite sure what you were going to get when you started a conversation with her.

Ani watched him, tilting her head to the other side as he spoke to her. An odd combination. Herself and Gin together... as the pups... but he was so excitable. She was so quiet and uninterested in such things. What would their pups be like then? A sort of... normal, perhaps? Or would some be more like her, and others more like Gin? She couldn't really be sure one way or the other until she met them.
"Thank you... I think... for calling me... unique. I have always been... fond of you for your ways also. You seem so... situated, in society." She said, though what exactly she meant by that could be taken differently depending on who you asked.
"I am glad however... that you like me. As I like you." She said with a short nod, "I hope you will like my pups also."

Zuberi laughed, he wasn't cocky but so far he hadn't met anyone he didn't get along with, with the exception of one lion cub he met when he was nothing more then a cub... but he didn't like thinking about her, it had nothing to do with him the anger that creature held. "I am sure we will all get a long great." Zuberi said with a simple smile.
He took a step closer to Ani he was interested in the little pups growing in her stomach, he had seen other pregnant dogs around the pride but had yet to know one personally the whole thing was very intriguing for him. "May I" he said gesturing with his nose towards her stomach. He felt strange asking Ani if he could touch her cause he had a feeling she was not one for physical contact, but his intrigue won over his embarrassment.

Ani didn't seem to mind one way or the other, but then again, she never did. This kind of thing never annoyed her, she really didn't see the point of that particular emotion. So even when she thought she was feeling it, she usually made a point of ignoring it. But she didn't usually feel it.
"Go ahead. I don't think there are many... but at least two... maybe three." She said with a shrug, "I haven't felt very... I'm not sure what the words for it are exactly." But then, she had never really been very good with words to begin with.

Zuberi nosed her stomach lightly, he thought about what she had said, she didn't seem like there was many in there, but while he felt her, there was one the kicked him in the nose, he back away chuckling.
"Hmm the right work... full, perhaps?" he laughed somehow that wasn't quite the right word but it was close enough. Regardless of the number I think you will have your hands full. Zuberi had never met Silvertongue but he had seen him around and heard things about him. There wasn't anything wrong with him, it was just the couple was an odd match, and Strongear just couldn't imagine the pups they would create.
"Perhaps a small litter is the way to go at first, it will get you use to things before having a lot of pups." Strongear had seen a few litters around the pack that had 10 or more pups in it, somehow Strongear couldn't see Ani handling that many pups well.

Ani tilted her head thoughtfully, "Good point... maybe if there are only a few, I'll be able to decide if I want more or not... I'm sure I'll like them though. I... enjoy pups. They are so... full of life. They do not see things... like we do... and these pups... they will not have to spend their lives alone, like I did."
Or she hoped they would not. It was her truest hope that her pups not be as lonely as she had been. Fleeing her pack and abandoning all she had ever known... traveling for years on her own... Only to come to be in a place where she was truely happy. Where she didn't have to be alone... where they wouldn't have to be... She had gotten everything she wanted. How often did that happen.
She didn't have to fight anymore.

Zuberi wasn't sure what Ani meant about a childhood like hers. In truth Zuberi and Ani had never really had an overly meaningful chat. Zuberi liked to think of himself as her light hearted, fun friends. Someone who she could count on for a few smiles and a meaninglessly fun chat.
"They will have a childhood like I had." he offered hoping this was something that she would want for her cub. Zuberi had thought his childhood was a pretty good one. In a pack filled with those that he loved and took care of him he hadn't had a care in the world, and when he got bored he was able to venture out and see what was what in the real world.
Feeling a little unsure about whether or not Ani would want this for her cubs, perhaps she didn't know that he had had a good childhood. "I had a great childhood here in fact." He looked around the pack lands and smiled.

"Yes... it would seem that you did have a nice childhood. That is very... pleasent for you. Mine was not as friendly... I never knew my brothers and sisters... or my mother and father." Ani explained, looking down at herself, "It is my hope that I might... not let such a thing happen for these children. I want them to be happy." She smiled a little, the slightest of lip curl, barely visible. She still hadn't gotten used to showing how she really felt yet...
"I am glad you have remained so cheerful Strongear." She told him, nodding her stoic face as it moved back to it's usual passive state, "I would like my children to be like you and Silvertongue... happier. Expressive... I suppose. For I am... not so. Though he claims that I am improving."

Strongear chuckled, it was just like Ani to not see the improvements within herself. Even in the short time that Strongear had known her he could see the changes in her, and he was sure he wasn't able to see all the changes, as he had met her when he was a pup, a pup that wasn't able to understand certain parts of a personality.
"You have changed Ani, Silvertounge isn't making stuff up. It wouldn't be so bad if your pups were like you, or perhaps a combination of the two. That would be interesting. You are kind Ani never under estimate how important that is. " he gave her an encouraging smile.
"So do you have any names picked out yet?" he asked looking up at her with his big eyes.
