It is with great happiness that I introduce to you all the new type of Vampyre in this roleplay forum. I am of course talking about the Obsidian Vampyres and Fledglings. These new vamps are similar to the normal ones with the following exceptions:
Obsidian Fledglings are born when a normal fledgling dies due to their body rejecting the change. These fledglings are NOT the same person as the fledgling that died. They are a completely new person with a different personality, they are however the same sex and appear to look similar, except with noticeable differences such as hair color, birth marks, eye color etc..
Obsidian fledglings don't have affinities, though once they complete their own change into an adult vamp they may be gifted with an affinity.
Like the red flelings and vamps in the book the Obsidian variety will burn up and eventually die in the sunlight. Because of this they are much more comfortable underground than above ground.
Perhaps the greatest difference between the normal Vampyres and the Obsidian vamps are that Obsidian vampyres must drink blood from normal vampyres rather than that of Humans. Also, Obsidian fledglings also drink the blood of normal Vampyres, though they can go weeks without it unlike the adults, or in their case the changing blood of normal fledglings will also suffice.
They are known as Obsidian fledglings because their marks are the color obsidian.
Besides the differences that are listed above it should be noted that there are special rules set for the Obsidian Variety of Vampyre.
They are nlot allowed to have any contact with the outside world, due to the secrecy surrounding them. Also they are not to feed off of any Vampyres or fledglings that are not willing to share their blood.
Also Obsidian Fledglings are incapable of forming an imprint with humans or other fledglings, be they normal or Obsidian. AN imprint can however form between an Obsidian Fledgling or adult vamp with a normal adult vampyre or another Obsidian adult vamp.
