So yeah, I found an old accordion on ebay that I actually like and it's not broken or a hundred dollars! And there's only one bid for $5 right now! The auction ends tomorrow night at 9, wish me luck! eek

Bah I just realized that one has a reserve price somewhere above $40 and there are 7 bidders already. And it only has a few bass buttons, so the sound is pretty limited. Even though it's a cool antique, it's not worth that to me.

But then I found this one! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=390071878885
A newer piano one with 120 bass buttons and multiple "voices". :0
So what it lacks in nifty old antique points, it makes up for in functionality and looks like it'll be an excellent starter. And it's very attractive, too. Most of the ones I sorted through were just awful, I mean why is white marbleized faux mother of pearl like the standard finish? Blech. : P

Bidding starts at $9, +$30 shipping from Florida, so I figure if I do get it it might run me about $60 if I bid up to $30. I might bid as high as $50 depending on how the auction goes. Still an excellent deal. Damn, I am excited.

I will get an antique German button accordion someday. *sigh*

Well, getting it is a battle in itself. But actually playing it! That'll be a task indeed. But best of luck in finding one! And hey! If you lose interest in playing it, you could probably use the design and mechanics in some of your steampunk artwork! Or take it apart for a costume!

Lol vocoder accordion. I should invent that. XD
Naw, you can switch the sounds of the main keys from normal to organ, piccolo, violin, or bassoon. I have no idea how that works, but jeepers it's a good selling point. XD
