Physical Description: Ichta is somewhere between the realm of being womanly and still being boyish, especially in the face. Standing at 5'6", she's not incredibly tall to the point of standing out; However, this height makes her lack of a highly feminine figure more obvious. Her features are almost tired looking, her eyes caught somewhere between a dark gray and a very dark brown with dark circles around them as though going without sleep is a constant. However, these circles aren't as painfully obvious as they could be, seeing as Ichta's skin has seen quite a bit of sun, despite the fact she will grab whatever high-collared shirts she can at a given time in order to cover up both her chin and neck. This is due to the scar that runs from her collar bone up to her upper lip. Her hair is a darker brown and is about medium length.
Personality: One could not describe Ichta as being 'shy' other in the variety of 'body shyness', which she suffers from in a special variety in that she doesn't care what you see of her, just don't look at her scar! It would also be advised that pointing out the scar when it is showing will send her right back into a paranoia of hiding it. In fact, it could be said that her scar-paranoia is also the cause of the dark circles around her eyes as she refuses to fall asleep until EVERYBODY ELSE she's in the room with is also asleep. This means she's a light sleeper, as entering or leaving the room will wake her to stay as such until the status of 'last to sleep' has been met. In turn, she's an early riser and not the least bit
grouchy about it.
Outside of her 'scar paranoia' she's actually not too hard to socialize with as long as you don't mind being kept at a literal arm's-length. At least three feet must be between her and all other people at a given time. Only in a rare instance will she actually get closer to another person outside of taking something she's handed or offerred. The only reason she'll give for this odd habit is that it's 'safer' that way - though she herself is not a threatening individual and will only hold onto anything sharp when she absolutely has to use it (such as a knife for cutting) and she will never turn her back to anybody with anything sharp in their hand.
Simply put, Ichta has absolutely no courage to her name and will remain unassertive of her own wants (even if they're important) and is most at ease around someone bigger and stronger than her that she feels would 'protect' her from some unnamed fear of hers -- in fact, she would completely latch herself to them.
History: Ichta lived a relatively normal life; the daughter of a seamstress and quite a little sewer herself, cloth and dolls were a way of her day to day habits. The only thing that was really out of place was a scar she couldn't explain from her collarbone to her lip and the lack of a father in her life -- these things earned her ridicule from other children who lived next to her and her mother. The girl never really asked about her father, as she'd never felt she needed one ; however, the one time she was actually curious enough to wonder she was only given the answer of 'he died before you were born'.
It was all she really needed to know and went along with her happy little life -- until one night at the age of about 11 she overheard her mother talking to someone she didn't know about a concern that 'they might come to take Ichta back'. Ichta, like any naughty child who should have been in bed, instead of going back to sleep immediately had to ask who it was that her mother was talking about. Her mother hushed her with lies about some 'evil man' who tried to take her as a child as well as gave her the scar on her chin.
Almost overnight Ichta stopped being able to sleep through the night, fearing that the same man her mother was worried about was indeed coming to get her! What Ichta didn't know was that the 'evil man' coming to get her wasn't who her mother had claimed it was; she herself didn't know that her supposed mother had actually lost a child of her own before she went to lengths to replace her lost daughter with that of another woman, injuring the child in the process, making this 'evil man' her possibly biological father. Ichta was never to learn of it either (and still to this day doesn't know).
It was almost six years later when the first riders that she'd ever seen came to their hold to 'Search' (As she'd been either too young or hidden away by her mother before then). Ichta was, to say the least, fascinated by the strange beasts that they came in on, was lured out of her paranoid hiding to investigate. It wasn't on this meeting but the next that she was searched.

Other/Talents:
Sewing (HIGH) - Ichta loves to sew little things, whether it be patches into ripped tunics or fixing some poor little rag-doll for someone. In fact, there seems to be no time she's happier than when she's doing this.
Fire Lizards (LOW) - GET THEM AWAY FROM HEEERRRRRRR!!
Patience (HIGH) - Because Ichta is not assertive, she is perfectly willing to just wait to get what she wants -- even if she needs it right then.
+ A stable support system and someone more assertive than her is exactly what Ichta needs in both friends and potentially her partner. It will also take at least a turn of having someone telling her that nobody is going to break into the Weyr to steal her away to start smoothing over some of her 'damage'.
Will this character be a candidate? Yesplz? (I wouldn't imagine fear to be a factor that would prevent it?)
