Noyana sat, tail flicking lightly beyond the borders of the Outlands. Close by, but still outside. Her emerald eyes were locked on the blue sky as her thoughts swirled in her head. She waited for her mate to come- she'd told him where to meet- she wanted to hang out with him here for a bit. Hang out and discuss these thoughts of hers. She would've hung out with him immediately, but Noyana had had some pride duties to take care of before she had some free time.

She stretched out a bit before settling back to a sitting position. The fact that her first litter had left and that her second litter were all adults had brought a feeling of... need to the lioness. She felt she needed to do something...

Something drastic. Something like a change. And certainly something she'd need to talk to Mat about- she wouldn't do anything without him. In retrospect, she was quite surprised at the happy life they'd built together, between themselves and two litters of cubs. If someone had told her that he could ever be so sweet as he was sometimes, she never would've believed them. She chuckled lightly to herself at the thought.

After making sure the family were good on their own, with food and water, the larger lion went to the rendezvous. What was it that she wanted from him that would require him to leave the pride's territory? The last time they did that .... well, it was interesting. But they had the den and the adolescents wouldn't be bright if they decided to visit. Even Matishou and Usufii knew that much. Still, free time to spend is time spent with his mate.

Matishou had seen glimpses of lions that looked like Valse but when he called, the lion would leave. If it were, he wondered if he was doing alright out there, by himself, with Usufii to look after. With both litters at adulthood, the primal instinct to continue the family was over abundant in his blood. And unlike most males, he had a prime female to assist in such desires.

The brown lion boldly ambled over to the bright female, roughly nipping at what he could before falling over onto his back beside her. Seeing her now, he recalled why he was with her. She was annoying at first and then there was his excommunication from the family where he had run into that terror of a father of his. She came to him and stuck with him.

"I must have been crazy in love with you if I mated with broken bones and limbs," he blurted randomly.

Noy's tail flicked when her mate showed up and nipped her. She gave a purr before quickly plopping down on her back beside him. "And I must have been crazy in love with you to refuse to leave you alone, despite your best efforts," she responded to the randomness, head turned to face him. She remembered that incident, when it was mentioned. She truly hoped to never run into his father again... And she hoped her oldest sons didn't run into him, either. Noyana pushed those thoughts aside.

She gave him a smile and rolled over onto her side to face him, trying to fiddle with his ear with her paw. "How's your day been?" She asked simply, wondering how to reveal her thoughts to him. In addition to that... "And how are our fully-grown cubs?" Noy asked, hinting at the obvious. She'd told her mate once that she wanted a big family... It was that time again- part of what she wanted to discuss with him.

"Yeah, but me being crazy to do something as life threatening as a mangled limb or a broken body is something else than falling for someone like me. I guess I win," he replied. With how Mat grew up, he had picked up speaking correctly and a lot better than when he was a cub. At least now, he could feel comfortable with the things he said and not feel like a complete idiot.

Mat's ear twitched when she touched his ear. Playing with him again and yet she knew better not to if she wanted to be productive today as to her duties. He purred roughly as he looked up to the sky. "Dull. Since the cubs are no longer cubs, days have been the same as when the boys were around. Dull and uninteresting until you and I can get a few moments alone," he replied. And he was being truthful and he was not going to hide the fact that they did use their time alone 'wisely'.

A smirk appeared upon his face and a throaty chuckled shortly after. She knew what she was hitting at but he wasn't going to say anything. He knew she wanted a big family. It was one of the things that him to accept her because he had wanted to make sure that their mother's blood continued on. It was unfortunate that it was also that demon, Kinari's, too. But that can be overlooked. Noy was his mate and he would gladly sire as many litters as she desired to carry. She was his and he was hers. Until the day he dies, he will die knowing that his bloodline is safely spread.

"Yeah, I suppose you do win," Noy conceded with a small, undeniable nod. She let out a little chuckle and a peaceful smile, allowing herself to slip carelessly and completely into that girly-frilly emotion that was love. She wondered what a younger version of herself would make of this scene... there was no telling, she supposed, and dropped that ponder.

"I can imagine. My days have been dull too, in that regard... I can only wonder... Whether they'll leave us here too." She said, turning her emerald eyes to meet her mate's. A good way to bring up her other talking point for today. "I've been thinking about that- and trying to think up a way to prevent it," she said tentatively. Would Mat be repulsed by the idea of going back to the Pridelands? The concept had been wandering through her mind.

"Lemme start over," Noy said flatly, brow furrowing. She clearly wasn't comfortable with not knowing what Mat would make of her idea. "I've had just the teeniest idea floating through my head, and before I let it grow any more, I wanna get your take on it, so hear me out? " She asked. "I can go either way, honestly!" Though, she thought to herself, I would like a certain path...

"What if... we go back to the Pridelands? With Tufah as the queen there, I kinda feel like it wouldn't be so bad anymore. And my family's there, and Mjrn is gone from here... So is Sarafina, and both of our oldest sons. I kinda feel like there's not much holding us here anymore, and we'd have an easier time meeting up with Usu and Valse if we were in the Pridelands. Our younger litter is old enough to decide for themselves to come with us, or stay here, or go out into the roguelands, and I'm sure they can fend for themselves well enough..." She explained. There, the idea was out there. "And the pridelands... would be a good place for a fresh new set of lives," she added on, face lightening up at the idea.

"Only if you're ok with that, of course. It's just an inkling, don't feel like you have to go along with it or something," she said with an exaggeratedly amusing expression and a chuckle. "What do you think?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 17, 2009 10:38 pm

"Sure, we go to the Pride Lands," he blantly spoke. He had the idea as well and did not give it so much thought as Noyana had. He wanted to go back because most of the family, on Noyana's side, was there as was the only sister that liked him and the elusive sibling, Haiba. It didn't really cross his mind that Valse and Usufii were there, wandering about, Valse did visit from time to time, but now they could do so without fear of being killed. The brown lion looked at his mate with a smile, nodding to confirm that she heard him correctly.

He wanted to return to where his grandfather was cheated of his royalty.

Not that it mattered anymore, he was not one to cling to many things in the past. The death of his mother. Her love. Noyana. And the hatred for that damned father of his. Tufah was the queen, if he recalled which meant his family, Taka's generation, has returned to the Pride Land's royal dens.

It was the last bit that made him purr his rumbling purr.

"If by new lives you mean a bigger family, we've already agreed that I would sire as many litter as your body can carry," He gave a roguish grin toward his bright mate, full intention of doing the deed again. Looking forward to their private moment and when she was ready for it. "I will gladly sire you another litter, Noy, granted, it won't be any different from any other," He growled as he licked her roughly.

Only way he can show some love.

Noyana's eyes lit up. She hadn't honestly known what to expect from her mate, but there was no denying that this had been the response she'd hoped for. Noy desperately missed her family. And the fact that he was fine with another litter was great, too. Though, she'd been expecting that he'd be fine with it. She nuzzled him before giving him a rough lick. "Well, this is... exciting!" Noy said happily. "When should we leave, do you think? And how to let the boys know..."

She pondered how to get news to them... She'd met a bird not long ago, maybe she could ask her to pass it on for her.

Mat chuckled when she spoke, he knew she would be ecstatic with his responses. It would be good for the family to get back to the roots of their birth of blood, where their lineage started, and with family still in the Pride Lands, it would be good to boast his litters. Plus, he was interested in Noy's family and their expression when they realize who her mate was. Matishou grinned as he pawed at her chest.

"We leave when we're done doing whatever we need to do here in the Outlands. Gather the cubs and we'll go, simple. We brought the troublesome delinquents when they were cubs, this will be no different," he replied. Valse and Usufii were on their own, they were old enough to take care of themselves. With their roving, they were bound to run into them, if not, they'll realize that the family is gone when they return here as they have once before.

"What do you say to that?"

Noyana perked up. "That sounds absolutely wonderful!" She said, beaming. She chuckled at his comment about their delinquent cubs. At least, after the move, any future delinquents would be able to be free about it. She remembered her first litter running off because the Outlands were too pressing on them- they didn't fit, no matter how hard they were pushed. She didn't blame them, she would leave, too, if someone desperately tried to keep her tied down that way. Life would be easier on them, too. They wouldn't have to watch their backs coming to visit, and they could visit their grandma, too! Plus all the extended family...

Oh yes, Noyana was certain that hanging out with the family would be what her two hormone-driven sons would want. She didn't mind, though. So long as they didn't forget about her, and she was certain that they wouldn't.

She listened to his plan, and started to think- what did she have to get done around here before they could up and leave?

... She'd have to catch all four of her last litter, and inform them, but that shouldn't be too hard. And then she would have to inform those in charge, either her or Mat, or the pair of them... That would be uncomfortable, but she was quite certain it was doable. "I say it sounds great!" She was even pondering how to get the news to her sons... She wondered if she couldn't find some creature to relay the messages.

And then her thoughts turned to her family- her twin. Chane, it'd been so long since she looked into the face that looked like hers. Well, almost, these days. He had a mane now, but back in the day... She wondered if Intombi would still be there, or Chaka, or anyone else she remembered from her childhood.

Only one way to find out, and that was to go.

In the back of his mind, he thought of his two sons. Valse was probably up to no good, probably getting himself deeper and deeper into problems that he has absolutely no business getting into and yet he is because of his ego or worse. That one must be harassing the younger of the two and the younger was probably out there trying to one up his older sibling. If that be the case, the two of them were both in trouble and having problems. His ear twitched at the possible outcomes of their situations and prayed that the duo were together and safe. Scraped up would be fine... just being safe.

Mat licked his mate again, comfortable that he can share in gentle moments like this and not feel embarassed. Then again, he could always rip their faces off if they choose to mock him or his mate. Pray they do not insult his mate or their death is guaranteed.

"I have nothing else but please you and keep my family together. Other than that, I can go right now," he replied. Did he plan for things? No. Did he care for things outside of Noy and his family? No. Was there something escaping his memory? Likely.

"When do you suppose we should do this all? My fur is itchy as is with these termites."

Noyana nuzzled him back, and buried her face in his mane for a minute. They were going to improve their lives for everyone involved. Well, everyone she cared about, anyway. Whether this litter would come along with her, she was unsure. She would at least inform them, encourage them to come, but in the end... They were grown, the decision was theirs. She wondered if any of them would get excessively mad... She hoped not. She pulled herself back to talk.

"Mmm, I don't think I have much to take care of here, either. Just the cubs and telling those in charge, that's all I can think of. We don't really do much but patrol and hunt," she said with a chuckle. Life here didn't really compare to the Pridelands. The Outlands had left her with little purpose beyond group hunts, and more significantly, taking care of her family and her mate. She rarely explored these lands... After all, what was there to find but termites? Back at home, though, the grass seemed endless, with bountiful herds and rich diversity- an excellent place for future cubs to explore, to gain a better sense of purpose for themselves.

"I suppose we could act now, unless you'd rather sit here for a while longer, but I have no other reason to hold off. And I will not miss these termites," Noy said, biting at her paw where she'd had a pretty bad bite for a little while now.

Mat stretched himself out upon the ground and looked over to his mate. How she managed to keep him and tolerate him for so long was something that was far beyond him. As a cub, he was always troubled and been so for the family and even then he was outcasted to learn a lesson which ended up as a near fatal one. Still, this fine female has stuck beside him all this time it only made him wonder what was wrong with her.

Since that day with his father, his left paw was never the same. It wasn't broken or healed differently. It was often sore and when he stretched and clenched it, it would make a soft popping feel as if it was locking up. It has never been a problem but perhaps mating with Noyana while in such an injured state, getting her pregnant, and having to support himself, her, and the litter that was in her womb, was what caused it to worsen.

As usual, most of what she had said slipped under his radar as he caught the last few phrases before perking up.

"What's the rush? We're alone, we're together, no cubs around finally, why not take our time and enjoy ourselves? I'll procrastinate as long as I can to talk to my siblings about leaving, I could go without talking to them," her mate replied, nosing her muzzle from her paw and licking it with his rough tongue in her place. A soft purr rumbling from deep within.

"There's no rush, just saying we could leave when we're ready, we don't have any obligations." She didn't blame his procrastination, it wasn't something she looked forward to either. Somehow, she always felt a little nervous around here, as her sons did. When talking to those in charge, she always felt she was walking on eggshells. No good reason to feel that way, but it was how she felt.

"Yeah, no rush at all," she said, in a bit more of a trance-like state than she had anticipated. He had started licking her paw, beneath her fur, Noyana blushed. Thaaaaat really helped that stupid termite bite, more than she would have thought. She was so happy Mat had put up with her tailing him for all this time, she was glad to have someone to share life with. She nuzzled his mane and purred, before licking at his ear, smiling the whole time.

"Come, lets go back to the den and work out the details of our plans. 'Sides, I bet the pride will be wondering what we're doing away for so long," Mat chuckled as he nuzzled his mate before getting to his feet. He was so comfortable out here, away from the termites and the looming eyes of his family.

Mat waited for Noy to get to her feet as well before setting off back home. It was time for a change. His children were growing up where there were rules. They could not grow and meet their own potentials under limitations and rules. He understood what the family wanted when they had started the pride here in the Outlands, but as a father, his children needed the room to grow and become strong on their own.

"The Pride Lands will be a new start in and old place."
