Kahawia had felt odd for quite some time now as if weighted down by something unseen. She'd noticed that her belly had expanded though she wasn't entirely sure why. It had worried her at first, but quickly dismissed it as too many second helpings.
Today though brought a new light on the weight. Pain had sprung up in her lower abdomen and made Kahawia frantic. She needed help, someone to take care of her, to help her. She needed Tama.

Hinotama was on his way back from the waterhole that was close to where both him and Kahawia lived. He licked his lips and strutted over the savannah lands. The male cheetah had raised 5 babies by himself before well with a little help from Kahawia of course but a pragnency was not something that Tama was familiar with either since he had just been handed over his 5 babies before so he didn't actually know how a female looked or acted when she was pragnent.
Tama was unaware of Kahawia's situation but if she needed him he would do anything to help her..
He had not seen her today tough...where could she be? Tama decided to go look for his friend and mate.

The pain had subsided briefly. Kahawia took the chance to move to the edge of the shelter Kahawia and Tama in which they had taken up residence. She chirped out towards Tama hoping he was close enough to hear her. Right then, the pain shot up through her abdomen and she crumbled to the ground panting. She continued her chirps though faintly and with longer pauses between.

Hinotama was not very far away but he was in no hurry since he didn't think he had to be in a hurry. After a while he felt the smell of blood...and the closer he got to the den the more he realized that it could be Kahawia. Maybe something happend to her?
He hurried towards the den but he couldn't figure out what was wrong with her even if she looked like she was in pain. The cheetah male just looked rather stupid even if he was worried at the same time.
" W..what is wrong? "
He asked and his voice sounded a little dry since he didn't know what was wrong or what he could do about it.

Kahawia's breathing had become a bit labored as the pain subsided. Between breaths she managed to tell her mate, "I-I'm not sure. I just started hurting and I don't know how it happened." She remained still and just took a second to catch her breath. The blood was out of view, but a strange smell filled her nostrils that she only faintly recognized. She could not place it, nor comprehend why she could suddenly smell it. "Tama... I'm scared..."

Lucky for Tama is was not that slow to understand things what usually happens if you spend some time with a female? Babies...he knew that could happen even if you only spent a few days with a female.
" Umm it's babies...you don't have to be scared i am here ok "
Tama licked her forhead a little and then he started to wait for the first cub to arrive. He was ver nervous but he wanted to help his mate with this even tough he never helped someone to give birth before and this was Kahawia's first time as well.
" I think the first one will come any second now... "

Kahawia's mind was racing, though she took comfort from Tama without much aknowledgement towards him. Babies? How could that be? She couldn't be a mom! There was no- her train of thought came to an abrupt stop when pain racked her body and she felt something loosen in the bottom half of her body. Suddenly she was damp and there was a strange noise from below her. The first one.. She could only guess at how many more would follow. She was glad he was here with her. Alone, this would be traumatic.

Hinotama was not very surprised anymore he knew this could happen but it might have been a little to soon? he didn't really know but there was no turning back now. But Tama didn't mind actually all his other children where all grownups now and he didn't mind looking after a few more cubs he did like cubs very much after all..
Tama peeked over Kahawia to watch the first cub it was brown with a with something that looked like a star on the cubs forhead..
What should he do now? should he help Kahawia or should he just sit there and watch?
" Umm do you need any help? "

Kahawia needed help but she didn't know how he could. One thing came to mind though... "Make sure they're all okay." Just hen, more pain racked her body. "Okay?" She knew it wasn't long now before the next one would come.
The pain hit and her body seized up once more. Once again Kahawia felt something let go and the pain subsided again.
((Sorry for the delay!! and the shortness... School is stealing all my time sweatdrop ))
