Matchbox
Glimmer and flicker and dance of the flames,
The fire burns brighter,
Stronger,
And devours the world in it's path.
The dance of the flare and shine in it's amber eyes hold a mystery,
And as it twirls and spins and jumps and leaps,
Around and around,
Again and again,
The shine grows brighter and consumes our very soul,
Leading us through the lights and sound to a world of unparalleled bliss.
The rapture of scarlets, the sheen of copper,
The glow of the untamed dancer accenting the power of our soul,
Of our lives,
Or our being.
Slowly our soul is consumed with the rest of the world,
The lowly kinder of the provoking flame.
Release
Alone and broken lies the soul of a little girl,
So lost and confused.
Sing to me another lullaby,
To help me ease the pain.
Ride upon dreams,
To escape the cold reality.
Sleep little darling,
All your fears will soon be gone,
Hidden by the stars.
Fear the sun light,
For at least the night will hide your scars.
Sleep my little angel,
Rest your swollen eyes and may the stars hide your pain.
Here lies the girl,
Beaten and bruised,
But her spirit flies free in the land of sleep.
As she smiles so sweetly my heart breaks,
For I was never able to save this girl.
Dream my darling sweet,
And let the night take you away.
It was too late to save her, her heart had met decay.
She died that night,
Her only true scars were those of a broken heart.
Laws of Sounds
No poet,
No matter how well he spins his words,
Or weaves their silken sounds together,
Can ever truly portray love as well as someone still currently there.
You don't need the words to paint a picture,
You don't need them to rhyme or compliment each other;
You just close your eyes and say everything you feel...
Now that's love.
That's why we write of broken hearts,
And painful memories,
Because it's so much easier to say than how he made you feel when he took your hand.
So much sweeter to say that his smile failed you,
When all it ever really did was gleam so perfectly that no words,
No matter how hard you tried,
Could ever say how much joy he brought to you.
That everything she did drove you crazy,
When in fact it was because you couldn't stand the thought of loosing her.
The rules of poetry can never truly cover the vast terrain of love,
Because there's so much there that no words can say.
