Verdant nodded to Shade as he opened the door for him. The impling had decided on getting a piercing and Verdant just had to tell him to go to Lapin Demonique. Since he was underage, he'd need his mom's permission, but neither of them was very certain that she'd agree to letting him have a needle pierce his skin anytime soon.

"Adam's cool, Shade. There's nothing you need to worry about. I called him and told him that I had a friend who was too young to get one without permission. He said to just bring you by, so, here we are." Verdant could only hope that Adam wouldn't make it hurt too much; he didn't want Shade to feel that much pain, after all...

Verdant was quite amused by Shade's curiosity; he had a feeling that Shade had never been inside a tattoo parlor before. "Come on, Shade. Adam's office is right this way."

The nymph led the impling into the back of the building, flashed his earrings (although four were missing), and stepepd through the door as the burly man guarding it moved aside. He never knew why Adam needed a bouncer, but it must've been a good reason, of that he was sure.

"Adam, my man!" Verdant exclaimed as he caught sight of his old friend. It'd been a little while since he saw him, especially after the calls they'd gotten from Zack and Alphonse. Verdant immediately shook off any morbid thoughts, though; he was here with Shade, who had yet to learn about Sandy's death.


Adam looked up from his copy of Emo Monthly and grinned as Verdant and his friend stepped inside his office. He teasingly smirked at Shade's height; Verdant said the kid was young, but the poor kid looked like an eight-year-old or something. "Verdant, bro, how's it hanging? Oh, hey there, kid! I'm Adam, but lots of people call me M'sieur Lapin- don't ask why, they just do."

Verdant reflexively pulled Shade a little closer to himself; he couldn’t help it when he was acting so shy. It was already becoming a habit, the whole “I’ll protect you” older guy thing. It was quite new to Verdant- and he was loving every second of it.

“It’s okay, Shade. There’s no reason for you to be so timid around him. He’s just Adam, after all.”

Adam clicked his tongue in disapproval at Verdant’s comment. Honestly, the nerve o’ this guy! “Just Adam? Might I remind you that those piercing and tattoos are the handiwork of yours truly? I oughta kick your a**, you ungrateful nymph.” He quickly turned to Shade and beamed a fanged smile at him. “Don’t worry, kid, I don’t bite very often.”

Adam motioned to the chair behind him with a flourish, indicating that Shade should take a seat.

"It's a fairly simple procedure, Shade. Just go to the chair and get comfy; when I ask you to, show me your belly button and size it up to see how big the needle needs to be and whatnot. When I've got it figured out, I'll place a surgical-lookin' clamp on your belly button to stabilize the tissue so it's ready to be pierced." Adam nodded and counted off the steps on his fingers; he had to change his procedure when the daemon's fire he used to heat up the needle was making people have mild mood swings- and their sexual urges were getting out of hand, too. "Don't worry, kid, I'll be real gentle, make sure it doesn't hurt too badly."

Verdant gently pushed Shade towards the chair, not wanting him to be so scared. Still, he understood that it was something new for him, an experience that would make a lot of people nervous. Verdant was a bit scared when he'd gotten his earrings, after all.

His hand slowly went up to touch the scabbing tissue forming where he'd torn out his piercings. Despite Aoi's help, he had continued to scratch and claw at the wound, refusing to let it heal. "I'll hold your hand throughotu the whole thing if you'd like, Shade," Verdant assured his younger boyfriend.

Verdant smield warmly down at his little impling. To think, he was actually going to get a navel piercing! How... how sexy, how awesome, how sexy, how brave! Did he mention how sexy that was? Well, never mind that! Verdant took hold of Shade's hand and smiled a little wider. "Trust me, Shade, nothing's going to go wrong. Adam's a pro, remember? Besides, if something does go wrong, he promised to let me disembowel him and make a sash and skirt out of his entrails~"

Adam grimaced at that little tidbit of information. Why in the hell had he agreed to that anyways. Oh, right, it had been the booze talking. Super. Well, he DID know what he was doing and NOTHING was going to go wrong. To appease Verdant, he hadn't had a single beer all day; he was totally sober... for now. "Alright Shad,e I'm going to need you to lift up your shirt so I can see your belly button, 'kay?" He turned away from Shade for just a moment to get a clamp and a black Sharpie, then looked at Shade's fur and decided something brighter would be best.

Verdant grinned as Shade lifted up his shirt, exposing that torso he enjoyed so much. Verdant would've preferred he remove his shirt completely, but he also wanted those pants to come off, but now wasn't the time nor the place, so he just nodded in agreement. "S'pretty good, yeah."

Adam sized up Shade's navel and marked it with a bright red marker. Satisfied, he fumbled with the surgical-like clam and pinched the upper region of Shade's navel, placing the clamp on without any difficulties. "That clamp's going to stabilize the tissue for when the needle goes through, alright? It'll make it so it doesn't hurt so much either, alright?" Adam extracted the piercing equipment and placed it on his desk to ensure that it would be ready when he needed it. "While we wait, let me go get the jewelry so you can choose what kind of ring you want. I'll bve right back." The incubus leapt up and left the room, leaving Shade and Verdant all on their lonesome.

Verdant waved to Adam as he left, then leaned over to kiss Shade deeply. He smiled deviously afterwards, running his hand over his young boyfriend's belly. "It's my pleasure, Shade. Somehow, I don't think your mother would be very enthusiastic about you getting a hole punched through your bellybutton, love."

Verdant had often wondered what would happen if he met Shade's mother and was introduced to her as Shade's boyfriend. Of course, he would get life insurance beforehand, make sure he had the coffin in his closet ready, maybe send out a few invitations to his funeral. In case you haven't yet gotten the message, she would most likely go Texas Chainsaw Massacre on his a** for banging her little boy.
