Hey there, kids.
I need some help! My birthday is in a little more than a month, and I'm looking to get an electric guitar. The catch: my parents said I must play them a 'mini-concert' to prove that I am worthy. I want you to suggest some easy Green Day songs that I could learn and play for them. I do have a book for International Superhits, but I haven't been able to learn any full songs out of it yet. (When you suggest a song, try to find a link to a good tab of it on the net. That would be really helpful, since I don't have a whole lot of time to go looking for them myself.)
My 'set-list' (Or just songs that I can play all the way through): - She's A Rebel - American Idiot - Poprocks & Coke

Waiting is pretty easy (it was the first song my friend learned to play on guitar) and Longview has about three or four chords. Hitching a Ride is pretty easy as well, I believe. Uhm.....you could always go with Good Riddance or somethig like that. The accoustic songs are easy for the most part 3nodding And if you're looking for something ridonkulously easy go for Brain Stew. Linkage: WaitingLongviewHitchin a RideBrain StewGood RiddanceFor a whole bunch of Green Day tabs go hereI hope most of those are pretty easy....I'm just guessing here (I'm not a guitarist and have not attempted to play any of these on guitar so don't get too angry if one of the chords is bitching hard or something >.<) I hope some ^_^

Knight Reaver This is the best place for tabs. And, Good Riddance is actually not that easy. sweatdrop I guessed on that one simply because every guitarist I know can play it. Sorry >.< Dark N I forgot that I can play Poprocks and Coke. I was playing it for a while today. Good Riddance is hard surprised When I Come Around is pretty easy, so I think I'm going to try to learn that next. Oh le duh! "When I Come Around" was one of the first songs I learned to play and the guitar is easier than the bass in that song.

I would say Brain Stew, but it's a tad boring.... (Don't kil me! With out the other intruments, even bass, it'd be too dull!) maybe hitchin' A Ride?

The Grouch has easy chords. The beginning of the song isn't hard. Well, I can play it kinda and I've only played for a few weeks. Plus, it's a great song. =D

Good Riddance can be easy for a beginner, but I wouldn't suggest it. It's easy for me, but not when I was starting to play guitar. But here are the best easy songs for a beginner I could think of:
Brain Stew When I Come Around Longview. (It's easy. Most of it is bass anyway. And the outro ******** rocks.) Prosthetic Head American Idiot Ha ha You're Dead Warning (EASY! Has no solo)

Good Riddance. I'm teaching myself that right now and it is reallly easy. The tab is simple and you just have to practice a lot (i lay on the couch and watch tv while i practice) you practice anywhere doing nething. I'm practicing right now- lol. Go to google and type Time of Your Life guitar tabs and do the first, second, or third site. They're the best. Trust me, its really easy. There's also an easy Blink 182 tab you can learn (i don't like them but its easy) You can search for Easy Blink 182 tabs in google and it will come up. But definately Good Riddance. It's fun to start learn it and then suddenly you realize- i'm playing it! omg, it actually sounds like the real song! its fun blaugh

I second the Warning suggestion. It's probably the easiest Green Day song (or second to Brain Stew). Good luck with getting your new axe. 3nodding
