I've been able to run Firefox, Windows Live, and Photoshop CS2 all at once with no lag. But to only have WoW running, and for it to crash even though I've only played for a few minutes... it's very annoying. Not a happy 10-day free trial if you ask me. Five days, mostly wasted.
Basically I run around and work on a quest, and then suddenly the screen freezes and the entire computer screen turns black. With that, I have to manually reboot the computer. Sometimes the keyboard continues working (I could talk for a while on Vent even though the screen was black). There is no error message, ever.
This computer meets the minimum requirements, and in some areas exceeds the recommended (System RAM, operating system).
I also downloaded a "repair" file. (This one--don't click if you don't want to download it.)
All that did was just allow the computer to reboot on its own when WoW crashes it.
Here's some info on this computer:
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2500+
Video card: RADEON 9600 XT AGP
System RAM: 1023 MB
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Not sure what else is needed for info. If you require more information on the computer, tell me how to find it. (I'm illiterate with this.)

I really have no idea what is causing it, but this happens to mom's laptop too. But not to mine.
What mods are you using?

I would guess that your video card is too much for your older cpu, or that your cards factory clockspeed is higher than your computer can handle. I had to underclock my card to stop it from crashing all the time.
I have no idea how to do it on an ati card. neutral
