Raiken Mansion:
Owner: Raiken Chuuko [NPC] - Clan Leader
The Raiken Mansion is the dominion of all members of the Shimagakure Raiken clan. It is a great white building with black roofing and black sliding entrance doors. On its top most point is a lightning rod which runs through the roof and connects to a large, metal orb in the top room of the Raiken Mansion. This room belongs to Raiken Chuuko and the old ninja enjoys placing his hands on the orb during thunderstorms in order to feel the electricity flow through his body. He also sometimes uses it for certain training exercises. On the top of the Raiken Mansion is emblazened a magnificent Raiken Clan Symbol. The Raiken Mansion is located on the top of a great cliff overlooking the sea. The Raiken Mansion is at the highest point in Shimagakure and has a long path leading from it to the village proper of Shimagakure which is some distance away. A tall stone wall stands in front of the Raiken Mansion so that it is defended on one side by the sea and on the other by this wall. This wall of white stone has two black watch towers. Despite this formidable barricade, the large balck gate is almost always open. The basic layout of the Mansion itself is pretty straight foreward. The first of its five levels has a dining and relaxing area complete with a kitchen. It also has a training area which has fighting rings, dummies, targets, and all manner of other equipment for ninja training. The second floor is the academy student sleeping are, the third floor is the genin sleeping area, the fourth floor is the chuunin sleeping area, and the fifth floor is the jounin and higher sleeping area where Raiken Chuuko resides. The quality and size of the rooms gradually increase by story with rooms on the second floor being the same size as most rooms in the housing district and the rooms on the top floor being over twice as big as housing district rooms. The cliff on which the Raiken's reside is rich with hot spring water just waiting to be tapped. The prescence of this hot spring water greatly influenced Raiken Chuuko's decision to choose this spot for building his Raiken Mansion. Hot springs are one of his greatest pleasures. This was also one of the few spots that wasn’t too effected by the Black Spring events, but after all the events had finished, even this great building had been left looking unattended and uncared for, and since it had still been a work in projects by the Raiken member’s, it still had a lot of work to do before it would look like the great plan that Raiken Chuuko had in mind.
Alas, not all of the mansion is yet complete. The following exercises can be done for rewards and to further the Raiken Clan. Raikens and anyone else who wants to feel free to do these exercises. PM upon completing one so that I can keep up with what has and has not been built yet.

Name: Master Jong Jong
Name: Raiken Chuuko
Age: undisclosed- ask him and you might recieve a whack on the head!
Sex: male
Birthday: Fall 5, year undisclosed
Physical Description: Raiken Chuuko, as his name implies, is a man who has been on this earth for quite some time and has more than a few wrinkles etched into his face to show it. He is, however, not to be mistaken as some sort of hobbling old shadow of a shinobi. His abilities are of jonin level and he has kept himself very physically fit, which is not easy task for someone who smokes as much as he does. He wears a conspicuous eye patch with a lightning bolt on it over his right eye. Is he missing that eye, or does he wear the patch for some other reason? Well, that is his little secret. Though he is lacking in hair on his head he is quite proud of that which he bears on his face and has turned his whisker grooming into a sort of hobby. He is a lean, muscular fellow towering over many people of comparable age at 6'2". His Raiken tatoo is over his heart on his left breast.
Clothing: In his retirement Chuuko does not waste his time on ceremony much. He wears a loose fitting open shirt which reveals most of his torso and chest and flaps wildly in the wind. His pants are also loose and go just past his knees. He ususally walks around the Raiken mansion barefoot and considers this atire his "lounging clothes." He does, of course, dress up a bit more when he goes out or is recieving guests, though both of these are seldom, particularly the former. He is perpetually smoking a long pipe in the shape of a dragon with lightning bolts running down its sides. He always keeps multiple pipes with him at all times just in case.
Personality: Chuuko is a true elder who has much wisdom to bestow Unfortunately he is often very cryptic in delivering his words of advice. He enjoys messing with people. Some would call him weird, but as everyone knows someone of Chuuko's level is not weird, but "excentric." He looks forward to being able to live vicariously through the young Raikens inhabiting Shimagakure by teaching them many of the Raiken clan's storied jutsus.
Background: Though few still living know Chuuko's precise age he formerly lived in the original Raiken village and still remembers well the events that caused the once thriving clan to scatter. He fled his home taking with him many of his clan's great techniques and led a nomadic and solitary lifestyle traveling across the world. Though he does not say exactly how, it is known that over his travels he aquired great wealth and has used it to fund the Raiken Mansion in Shimagakure. He was attracted to the ninja village, not become an active ninja there, but because it boasts the largest known population of Raikens in the world.
Skills: Chuuko, though not the ninja he once was in terms of physical ability still knows many jutsus, even if he lacks the chakra to use them too often. (Think Third Hokage.) In particular he is the king of "BS" training. This means that, at random, he will, partially for his own amusement, tell the two closest young Raikens to do something rather dangerous and unorthodox. One of his favorite such exercises is telling two Raiken youths to simply sprint to each other and see which one could knock the other one over. He also likes making youngsters think that doing chores for hims is training and there by avoiding all work himself. He knows and can teach all of the Raiken clan techniques. He mainly teaches ninjutsu, but can alos, if required, teach other things as well. He is the leader of the Shimagakure Raikens and is the one to present them with their staves.

"Heh heh heh!" laughed the old Raiken as he looked with admiration in his eye at the newly completed Raiken Mansion. Well, nearly finished. There were a few finer details yet to be added, but those would come in time. Now all that was really left to do was to alert all of the young Raikens about the completion and have them move in. He would be glad to meet them, as he had just arrived in the village himself and only heard of their residence here. He had already sent them all messages which were nailed to their dorm room doors. In the meantime the Chuuko would occupy himself walking about the property admiring his creation. It had cost plenty, but he had more than enough money to live out his life on even then. Using his Raiken Staff as walking stick the Raiken leader walked over to the edge of the cliff and watched the rolling of the sea. "Heh heh heh! I picked a good spot indeed! So beautiful! Brings back memories..."

Well, he could not simply stand around gazing out at the sea all day now could he? No, the old Raiken new that there was no time for that! There was still much to be done before this evening's Raiken staff presentation ceremony. With surprising agility for his old age the Raiken leader quickly ran into his mansion with clothes flapping in the cool sea breeze. Using Raikou Sumiyaka no Jutsu the eye patched elder was in his room in a flash before a great, ornate chest yet unpacked. As he opened it with a great creaking sound countless pieces of memorabilia were revealed. "Now lets see here..." he muttered to himself as he rummaged through the old chest. "Aha! Here it is!" he exclaimed in a giddy tone as he pulled out a magnificent black robe and yellow jacket with intricately embroidered clan symbols throughout. Having clothed himself in this garb he then proceded to pull out a black and gold Raiken staff not intended for combat, but only for ceremonial purposes. Finally he pulled out two finely crafted Raiken staves for the Kiba and Serena to be presented with that evening after the genin ceremony was concluded. "Well, I guess Serena-chan will be getting her's a bit late, but better late then never! Heh heh heh!"

Akemi was tired, and it was noticable due to the dark coloring that was begining to form under her eyes. The little girl had said to look for a white wall... and Akemi thought she was nuts, that is until she saw it for herself. The building was huge, with many floors. And there was a huge white wall. What really cought Akemi's attention was the location. She was amazed at the fact that the building was located on a cliff, overlooking the sea. That perked the girl up a little bit, but it couldn't be seen from her appearance, she still looked like she was about to hit someone. "Hello?" she called out, still outside. She wasn't sure if anyone else was around... maybe Rolean had made it back long ago, after classes had been offically let out...

"Well" began Kiba enthusiastically replying to Tanu's question about the Raiken staves "They're not just any staves! They are specially constructed by Raiken black smiths! They are sort of a symbol of maturity that Raiken's recieve when they become full fledged ninja. I can't tell you alot about them because they're a clan secret, but they are very helpful to Raikens. More so than normal staves. Clan pride shined brightly in the dark eyes of the Raiken as he explained his clan's trademark weapon. As he finished his monologue and walked onto the property of the Raiken Mansion he the magnificant building come into clear view before him. "Here it is!" Kiba said looking at Tanu with a grin "The Raiken Mansion!" As they approached the beautiful structure before them Kiba also noticed a young Raiken girl was already there. He did not know her, really, but he had remembered at some time or other having her pointed out to him. "Hello!" Kiba said waving to the girl "My name's Kiba! What's yours?"
The ancient Raiken peered down through his window from the top of the Raiken Mansion down at the arriving Raikens. "Heh heh!" he snickered to himself as he clapped his hands together and reappeared in a great puff of smoke in front of the Mansion before all of the youthes. "Hello, hello! And welcome! I am Raiken Chuuko, Raiken clan leader and builder of the abode you see before you! Good to see you all! You must be Akemi" he said looking over at the young Raiken girl "And you must be Kiba!" he continued, glancing over at the young Raiken swordsman. His old eyes finally fell upon Tanu. "Eh? Who are you?" She certainly did not fit any of the descriptions of the Raikens on the island he had gotten. No, she was definitely not a Raiken. Then was she... Chuuko felt a certain strange tension between the two. They did not exactly seem completely comfortable with each other. Heh heh! thought the old Raiken to himself I might could have a little fun... "Oho! I see you two are... what's the term these days? An item?" He wondered if he should really stir something like this up right before such an important ceremony and decided he definitely should! Troublesome old coot...

Akemi's patients were wearing thin... she was getting tired and cranky and once a voice called out to her she turned on the spot. She had been expecting it to have been Rolean, but it wasn't. It happened to be the boy from earlier, back at Yuki's place ealier in the day. Kiba... yea that was him... she thought to herself. Her eyes then looked over to the other girl, she didn't know who this one was, but by the looks of it, she was around the age of Kiba. She just looked at the two for a few moments, then placing a hand on her small hip, she simply addressed them, "I'm Raiken Akemi. I'm new here yea..." she said in a lazy tone. She then heard another voice, and turned her head again to see an older looking man appearing in the small group. She didn't know him either... so the girl just simply sighed as he rambled on. When he guessed her name, she just simply nodded her head, her expressionless face returning once again, that is until the old man mentioned the words 'an item'. "You two are together?!?!" she asked sarcastically. Wow... she thought again to herself as she looked the two over. They didn't seem much like a pairing to her....

Tanu rolled her eyes at Kiba's description about the Raiken clan staffs. She was really impressed that the Raiken clan deemed their clansmen worthy with a presentable and useful weapon. Tanu hadn't gotten anything from the Kun 'Kumo clan when she graduated! She was a little jealous of Kiba. Glaring at the Raiken with her green and red eyes, she almost had to squint because he was gleaming like the freaking sun with pride. The girl's jaw dropped at the sight of the Raiken mansion. It was really.. a mansion! Clamping her jaw shut quickly when Kiba shouted hello. He went running up like a peppy fool to a girl introducing himself right away. And old man with an annoying laugh popped his head out one of the many windows on the building. He picked out the girl, Akemi and Kiba. He then peered down at her. "I'm Kun 'Kumo Tanu!" she shouted up with a bit of an attitude since jealousy was still coarsening through her veins. Jealousy soon faded as Tanu's face lit up as red as her hair. "We're not an item! We're not together! We're squadmates!" Tanu shouted with her eyes closed as yelled out the correction. Crossing her arms in front of her chest, she turned a cheek to all three Raikens. "Stupid Raikens! There's no sense of maturity here at all!" the stuffy Kun 'Kumo shouted as her red face turned down to a mere simmer as a crimson color still reddened her cheeks.

Almost there. Serena was almost there. Maybe she would be able to make it in time for the ceremony. She turned the corner quickly and sprinted straight for the entrance. The only thing the genin was worried about was getting lectured at for not being on time. "OHH~I'M SORRY I'M SORRY I'M SORRY AM I LATE??" She ran towards the group of people, and in an effort to stop herself, she grabbed onto Kiba, dragging him along with her until she could come to a halt.
"I'm sorry...I didn't miss anything did I?" Serena began to talk again as she caught her breath and relaxed. She didn't notice anyone around her yet but the one she latched onto as she attempted to stop. It looked like nothing had begun yet...but maybe it was already over. She took deep breaths and hoped that she was still in time. "You see...I was kinda trying to get this crocodile out of the forest with Sorri..."

Kiba's face immediately turned crimson red when he heard Raiken Chuuko call he and Tanu "an item." Had he really just said that? Could he really have just said that? These thoughts raced trhough the young Raiken's mind before he heard Tanu's outburst in return. Kiba was not nearly as angry after this as he was incredibly embarrassed. He sort of hoped that he could just dissapear and tapped the ends of his pointer fingers together. Stupid old man... he thought to himself as he glared at the aged Raiken clan leader. After an awkward silence Kiba finally began "Er, sorry Tanu-", but before he could continue he felt himself suddenly being dragged across the Raiken Mansion grounds until he stood directly in front of Chuuko. "Serena-senpai!" he exclaimed "Great! You made it!" The appearance of his fellow Raiken and one of his oldest aquaintences on the island quickly dissapated his embarrassment for the moment and after the initial shock of her sudden appearance he grinned at her. Wait a minute.... did she say crocodile?!
"Heh heh heh!" chuckled the old Raiken as he watched the reaction he got from the Kun Kumo. "Sorry about that sweety." He said towards Tanu "I'm just a mischevious old man! Pay not attention to me! Maybe you're right, maybe we should have a greater sense of maturity. Well then, no better way to do that than to begin the ceremony now that Serena's here!" after he finished say this he asumed a suddenly more serious aura. His very eyes seemed to take on a different shape that completely transfigured his whole character from an excentric old man into a wisened elder. Upon seeing the desired mood to have fallen upon all those around him he pulled out, seemingly from no where, to beautifully constructed Raiken staves that shined brightly in the moonlight they not only seemed to reflect, but to magnify. The one in his left hand he held out to Serena and the one in his right he held out to Kiba. "Now," he began in a solemn tone "Both of you repeat after me and then take your staves and become true Raikens! I hereby swear my eternal and unyielding loyalty to the Raiken plan and promise, by taking this staff, to, with every fiber of my being, protect and benefit my clan." After allowing the two young Raikens before him to take their staves Chuuko conlcuded with "It is finished! Well done!" and once again dissapearing in a puff of smoke back to his room at the top of the mansion. It was a good ceremony. Short and to the point.

Ah. So Serena didn't actually miss the ceremony. But made it just in time. Chuuko held out two staffs for them, asking them to say and oath. In an honest tone, the Raiken began. "I hearby swear my eternal and unyielding loyalty to the Raiken clan and promise, by taking this staff, to, with every fiber of my being, protect and benefit my clan." Well there, she said it and took the staff. Wait, what the-? Was that really it? Before she could ask, the old man decided to poof away. "Meh. Why does he always have to do that?" Chuuko's personality had always somewhat annoyed the girl. Always tricking them into doing various tasks for no reason at all.
Serena sighed and looked at the staff. "Oh well. At least we got 'em. Now we gotta train with them." This staff seemed different. The genin had once, somehow been able to get ahold of an older Raiken staff to practice with. The weight and everything were similar, though. "hmm..so what next?"

Having completely forgotten the earlier embarrassing incident concerning himself and Tanu, Kiba earnestly and solemnly repeated the oath. "I hereby swear my eternal and unyielding loyalty to the Raiken plan and promise, by taking this staff, to, with every fiber of my being, protect and benefit my clan." However, no sooner had the young Raiken wrapped his hand around the outstretched staff before him than he saw Chuuko dissapear in a great pillar of smoke before him. How abrupt. thought the young dark eyed Raiken to himself I wish I could have gotten better aquainted with him... This thought was quickly replaced by thouhts of Kiba's staff. He held it tenderly and admired every inch of it. Even if it was not a sword, it was a powerful Raiken symbol and Kiba would prize it highly. Indeed, his admiration was not broken until Serena mentioned that now they had to train with them and the new genin could not wait to do so. "Hey! Serena! Tanu! Do either of you want to help me break in my new staff?"
Raiken Staff The Raikens have their own unique staff which, in combination with their unique limits, can only truly be wielded by their clan. This staff is unique in it's design in that it can split into various weaponry, and the additions it gets later on make it even more dangerous. The standard staff looks like a regular body length staff, but is hollow on the inside because, since it is made of a highly conductive metal, it would otherwise be too heavy to effectively wield. It is traditionally yellow with black at the ends. This standard staff is presented to all Raikens who reach the level of genin. Upon reaching the level of chuunin, Raikens are allowed to select one of a few upgrades for their staff such as adding a spear head to the end of it (throwing weapon-javelin), turning it into a sword and sheath (the handle of the sword is one end of the staff and the blade is contained in the hollow end) or turn it into a detachable nunchaku (ninja weapon.) The reason why this weapon is so affiliated with the Raiken clan is that it works with their lightning chakra and can even help them to channel it functioning much like a lightning rod. Damage: 5 to 10 + Endurance Mod + Staff Bonus Avoid: Dodge or Tumble Modifier: Agility Special: + Weapon Variant Bonus to roll and damage when Level 10. Blacksmith DC: 30

The only thing that could let the crimson of Tanu's cheek fade was the lameness of the ceremony that had just been performed. "That's it?" Tanu asked with a dumb look on her face after Kiba and Serena each pledged their loyalty to the Raiken clan. There was no type of celebration, no music, just a sentence of loyalty and the handing over of a weapon. At the suggestion of a fight, Tanu wanted to jump right on it, but she knew she would be out-done by Kiba with that weapon. She needed to train her own weapon she had gotten today. "I'll take you up on that tomorrow," Tanu said waving her hand in front of her face as she turned to leave. "See ya at the docks to greet Yamanaka-sensei in the morning," Tanu said a bit plainly, leaving the two Raikens to enjoy their new staffs together. She kind of wanted to stay around and see if Kiba was strong enough to beat his sempai with the new staff, since Tanu gave respect to Kiba for being good with weapons, but she was beat and had some training of her own in mind... With a wave to Kiba with her back turned to them, she left the Raiken grounds and made note to stay away from their clan leader.... Crazy old man. No one had ever called her sweety, because there wasn't an ounce of sweetness in Tanu's being!

Serena waved and yawned after Tanu had made her leave of the mansion. "You know what Kiba? I think I'm gonna have to agree with her...it like..what? Midnight now? and I want to get up early tomorrow...plus check out my new roooom!!" She laughed and twirled her surprisingly light staff before slowly heading inside. Today turned out to be not very exciting, but at least she did something. "Well, g'night~!" She headed up the stairs and proceeded to the third floor and looked for the room with her stuff in it.
"Oh, here it is..." She slid the door over and stepped in, yawning again. Before she had done much, after brushing her teeth, changing, and stuff, the Raiken slowly drifted off into a really nice sleep.

[Sorry if the ceremony sucked! sweatdrop ]
Kiba sighed as both of his potenital sparring partners went off to bed. The dark eyed Raiken hated sleep. A waste of time! Everyone would be much more productive without it! He would find a way to make the function obsolete one day. But until then he conceded that Tanu and Serena were probably right. It had gotten late all of a sudden. Maybe that was why the ceremony was so dissapointingly short. Old people, after all, seem to sleep all the time anyway. Atleast Tanu had agreed to do it tomorrow and he would also get to meet up with the rest of his squad and his new squad leader too! Kiba's favorite grin sprang across his face as he walked merrily into the mansion to his new room bandying his staff about. Poor Akemi, though. Everyone had just sort of forgotten about her had they not? By being the only one left outside, however, she would, for whatever it was worth to her, be the only one able to see anything that happened outside.
[exit to next day]
No sooner had Kiba gotten inside than Chuuko placed his hands on the metal orb connected to the lightning rod atop the manison. For several seconds he built up electricity before suddenly releasing it into the metal orb and out through the lightning rod in great, magnificant streaks across the dark sky that wonderfully illuminated the mansion. Better than just mere electricity, however, they various streaks like fire works were of beautiful whites, yellows, blues, and reds. This light show and grand finale to the Raiken Staff ceremony lasted for several minutes before finally ending in an electric current erupting from the lightning rod and forming in the shape of the kanji for Raiken. Rather pleased with himself Chuuko peered out his window to see what reaction his audience would give him to be greatly dissapointed by only Akemi remaining. And here he had gone and prepared a big speech to give too... Next ceremony he would remember to bring it with him on his first trip down from his room...
