Who: Simon, Ariel and eventually Chris Where: The skinnydipping spot by the river~ When: Day 7 Another free day... upon the megaphone making him almost fall of his bed explaining this to him, Simon sighed and dropped right back off to sleep. After the extreme emotional letdown yesterday turned out being, he just about felt like sleeping right through the next one. And he almost did.
But the little guilt complex he had flared up again, forcing him to get out of bed and smash down the cowlicks in his hair, and head outside.
He needed to find Annabel and talk to her.
Simon headed straight into the woods. Part of him knew exactly where he was going, but the rest vehemently denied that he was going there in the half-hope he'd find Annabel again in that same location, telling himself that he was looking here on the off chance she was just on another expedition into the woods. Because she did that. And not only for just that one thing, right? There were plenty of reasons one of his teammates might go into the woods. Like to find some saplings and branches for Ratchet to work with.
...oh, who was he kidding. He'd ended up standing right on the spot where she'd come out of the river stark naked and hugged him. Not in the hope he'd find her like that, sure, but part of him had developed the thought that she used this place often, given her occasional disappearances in the middle of the night...

Ariel needed peace and quiet. Real peace and quiet, something she could use to think so she could figure out what the hell was going on. Head down and face troubled, she kept tripping and stumbling over a rock here, a twig there, seemingly oblivious. Why...what the hell would their host kiss a camper for? Was Annabel even legal?

Click.
Snap.
Crack.
Okay... someone was coming this way. He could at least tell that this time it wasn't Chris messing with him; the noises were a little too obvious, easy to pinpoint and lacked the general finesse to be someone taking advantage of the concealment of the trees to play a trick on some unsuspecting skittish camper.
"Hello?" he tried, and after a moment of consideration followed with, "Is that you, Annabel...?"

...Damnit.
For all its appearance of wilderness, Wawanakwa was harder to find a quiet spot in than...than it was to find an unpopulated area in Dalaran. But it simply wasn't in Ariel to turn around and go back the way she'd come, so she moved on towards the voice.
"Um...no?"

"O-oh..."
The LARPer wasn't able to completely hide his disappointment upon the cooler-colored Audio coming into view instead of what he was looking for - and immediately realizing that such a thing might offend this other girl, his ears pinned in shame and his voice took on a more apologetic tone.
"S-sorry! I-I-I mean, I d-didn't think I'd f-f-find anyone else over here, and... er... I'll l-l-leave if you wanted to use this spot..."

Ears flattening back in dismay that she might have disturbed someone who might likewise be seeking solitude, Ariel shook her head hastily. "No, I can share. It's a nice spot, but it looks big enough for both of us, don't you think?" Finding a relatively stick-free patch of grass, she took a seat, tail curling around her paws. "So, what brings you out here?"

Okay, so it wasn't Annabel... but there was nothing wrong with having a neutral party to hang around with for a bit so he could ignore his woes. Besides, this girl seemed nice enough considering she hadn't told him to bugger off.
He took a seat on a larger tree root some feet away. "I w-w-was looking for someone, y-you probably c-c-caught her name..." he said, with a sheepish look. "But it's n-n-n-no big deal if I don't find her today, I guess. What about you?"

He knew Annabel. Okay, that in itself wasn't too strange. There were a lot of campers, so it was only logical that Annabel would have met more than just herself--at the least, she'd gained some amount of fame for her dive off of the cliff with Chris. ...Ugh. Unpleasantly reminded of what she'd walked in on, she nodded slightly. "Yeah...Annabel's a friend." Wrapping her arms around her knees and burying her face in them, she mumbled, "Even if I don't know what she's thinking sometimes."
