Welcome one and all to the Vanguardian Axis Racing Arena. This is a sub-branch of the main office in the Grand Vanguard Arena, and will be involved closely with it's activity. We offer all services of our other branch, and are accepting entries at all times.

First, we offer a list of the main regulations:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v243/Guilliam/Vanguard Racing/Race_Regs_PNG.png

Go down a bit. I messsed up making that list.

Second, we offer a list of our prestigious racing units. We're expecting a new shipment of units soon, so be prepared for an update.

Below is an explanation of how our little operation works.

Registration for Racing is done as follows:

Make a post with your information. Here's a Sample:

Name: Guilliam
Starter Craft: F-29

Pick one of the two starter craft and you name above that. Easy, no? You'll be added to the records for future games.

Grand Vanguard Golden Phoenix Speedway is a Chat Room Dice Game. In a chat room, to roll the dice, type in //roll , and hit the enter key. This will throw 2 Six Sided dice. For rules on gameplay, see the rule list above.

Turns are conducted much like turns in a TCG{Trading Card Game}. Those of you who have played such games such as Magic: The Gathering, Yu Gi Oh!, or any of other numerous TCG's probably know what I mean. For those of you who don't, each turn is conducted in a number of phases.

Phase One - Weapons Phase 1 - In this phase, you may use a weapon stored on your unit. If you have no weapons, this phase is disregarded for the turn.

Phase Two - Movement/Weapons Roll Phase - This is when you roll to see how your turn will progress. The first digit in a roll is Movement. The second will be a weapon mentioned at the Unit List. The Number Rolled for a weapon is equal to it's level, so check the list. The List of Units and Weapons are subject to change at any time seen fit.

Phase Three - Movement Phase - Now, this is where you move forward a number of spaces equal to the number rolled for your movement roll, and take any movement augumentations into account. In Grand Prix rules, movement will be handled in a slightly different manner, to later be announced when a Grand Prix is held.{At least 3-4 people need to be level 3 Racers to hold one, as this requires}

Phase Four - Weapons Phase 2- If you didn't use a weapon in Weapons Phase 1, you may do so now. As mentioned in the rules, weapons may only be used once per turn.

Phase Five - End Phase - At this point, say End Turn to finish your move. The next player moves after this Phase.

Some of you may wonder how to race if you don't have AOL or AIM for dice rolling. Simply find an acceptable substitute with one of the mentioned programs and have he/she stand in for you in the race. This player is to roll the dice, but you must make all the strategic decisions with the weapons and unit selections.

Normal Racing will be conducted in the standard rule set. Money awarded for winning is NOT Gaia Currency. This is a Game created exclusively for the Grand Vanguard RP. Money awarded will be recorded by the Game Master and saved away in a record. This information can be freely accessed by requesting it from a valid GM. By speaking with a Valid GM, you can also buy new ships for racing. Remember, the list is subject to change, and the highest level craft may not always be the best for the job.

As of now, I am the only Valid GM for GV Racing. GMship will be given on request of a person deemed of acceptable character of becoming a Game Master.

This game is still in it's beta stage and is by no means complete. If you've a suggestion or a comment, I'd be glad to hear them. Just send a PM to me and I'll take it into consideration. I'm also looking for other unit pictures, so feel free to suggest units as well. Until then, play will be conducted under the current Rule Set. Enjoy all.

Lastly, a list of registered Racers is as follows:

Guilliam Yaeger
Craft: F-29

Yeah. Kinda sad, but with the introduction of the new features to Grand Vanguard, such a game will help to unwind and may serve to improve your financial status between missions. If you don't feel ready for a race for money, try it out for fun. As mentioned above, the rules are still abstract, and are subject to change when seen fit. As your GM, I wish you all the best of luck.

I have been talking to Guilliam Yaeger about the Grand Prix race for 1 million credits be perhaps 10 races, that consists of 4 ~ possibly 12 people to be in the race. We would like to start the Grand Prix Races ASAP, so we would like more Racer Pilots to join in on this AOL / AIM minigame.

If you have a Pilot Character, and AOL and/or AIM, I would like you to join in on this minigame with us.

And also, if anyone is interested in betting on the outcome of this Grand Prix, you may do so as well. It would be recommended that you would do so after enough people has signed up for this race, and before perhaps the second race.

I.. guess I should put up the Credits Thread so that people will know how much credits they have..

Update:

Well, it seems that we've obtained a good number of racers. As far as Registration for the Grand Prix goes, we're closing on Monday. As of then, you are free to apply for a Racer, but unable to participate in the Grand Prix. If you want to join, be sure to get your entry in.

Governor Trufield has put up 1,000,000 Vanguard Credits as the prize for the race, so expect a few changes to the unit list.{This will make things fair and reasonable to all racers.} A rule list update is also underway, but don't expect it to interfere with the Grand Prix.

Part Store = Yep. One IS being planned. This'll allow you to customize your racer to your specifications. While this IS being planned, and a release now would be easy, the Grand Prix will be held before it opens. The Prix is to determine each racers level of skill, how useful items are, and how much things should cost. Such things will be taken into account while developing items and prices. As you may or may not have guessed, each race unit WILL have restrictions on how many upgrades it can have, and the better the unit initially, the fewer parts it can have.

Vote Results - Gundam SEED won in the polls with 3 votes over 2 to Macross Seven and 1 to UC Gundam. In all fairness, there aren't many SEED Aircraft left to work with, so I'll be using the Skygrasper and Moebius{Normal kind} from SEED, and two Valkrie Units from Macross 7{Thinking Nekki Basara and Gamlin}.

To determine the winner of the Grand Prix, we'll be using a simple Point System. The point placement goes as follows:
1st Place Finish = 9 Pts
2nd Place Finish = 7 Pts
3rd Place Finish = 5 Pts
4th Place Finish = 3 Pts
5th Place Finish = 1 Pts
6th and Lower = 0 Pts

Luck and careful decision making will be required, as some courses will come with a few surprises that may not make the course as easy as it appears. In all fairness, since some people need to review the tracks first, all players will be shown the courses 1 day before the race, but special rules will be kept from the public until the actual race. Though it may seem unfair, it is to keep you thinking on your feet. Just keep the prize in sight.

As for betting, you are free to wager some of your Vanguardian Credits here on the Grand Prix outcome. You can't wager more than you have, and you can only wager on the overall outcome. Simply put down who you want to bet on and how much. Like this:

Name: *Your name here*
Bet On: *Racer's name here*
Ammount: *Ammount Wagered Here*

If your racer wins, you get your money back in double. If you miss, you lose what you wager. Simple enough, no? Bets may be placed here until Friday this week.

With that said, expect updates in the near future. Be sure to get your information in before the registration for the Grand Prix before Monday. As for the first race, I'll announce it's location after bets close on Friday. Don't expect a timeframe unless we can get together all the Racers.
