It was, again, another hot day in the city and, gosh darn it, the air conditioning in her room at the apartments had decided to konk out just when she had woken up this morning. And due to the destructive reputation she had built up here in Zatao, Jen had been banished from the apartment while the tech dude fixed the problem.
Now the trainer was lounging on a park bench with her head tilted back and a bottle of water dangling from one hand. When Jen had arrived not a few moments earlier, she had released her team into the grassy area; while she attempted to stay cool, they were mingling or finding ways to enjoy themselves.
Aman, her proud stantler, was content to crop at the lush blades of grass in the shade of a large oak. Jen had given the poor guy a small haircut, so his normally thick fur was thinner and more tolerable to the summer heat. Perched in a branch above him were the two trouble makers of the team: Ace, the newly-evolved Crobat and Aden, the shiny Banette. They sat and chatted back and forth while the occasional evil laugh would drift away from their talk; they were plotting something of minor evil but since Jen couldn't speak pokemon, she couldn't really do anything about it.
The romping and happy barks of two pokemon playing forced Jen to look up from her stupor; the sight, however, brought a smile to her face as the two fire pokemon roughhoused with each other. One, a light-colored Arcanine with a star in the middle of her forehead, grabbed and tugged at the ear of a blonde/pink ninetales who, in returned, growled and pawed at his mothers' nose. Yes...those two were mother and son, though they acted more like sister and brother at times with their carefree nature. Still, if Aura and Keahi weren't like they were, life wouldn't be interesting, would it?
The last few pokemon of Jen's team were close to their trainer; two were on the bench with her while the third, her only water pokemon, was paddling around in a small pond close by. The Vaporeon in question, Demyx as he was called, dove in and out of the depths, whistling happily while doing so. The two pokemon on the bench, both Raichu, watched their teammates from their perches.
One, a small female Raichu, groomed herself while sitting in Jen's lap. Everything she did was just plan too cute; those walking by would often point at the pokemon and makes various noises of admiration...though they didn't stick around long enough. The raichu sitting next to Jen, with his large size and multiple scars, would give them the evil eye for eyeing his daughter. Aeon and Abiba were like oil and water at times...hard to believe they were daughter and father.
Yep, they were an oddball team alright.
