Being a Ranger isn't for the faint of heart. It takes hard work, perseverence, dedication and team work. Not only do you train your pokemon to work with you as a team, but you also have to help others who are in danger (human and pokemon alike), deal with natural disasters and sometimes even arrest criminals. It's a difficult job, but I love every second of it. This is my journal, in which you will find not only my personal information, but that of my pokemon as well. Enjoy!

Personality: Miri is a girl who takes pride in her job and loves what she does. Ever since she was little, she knew she would be doing something that helped both people and pokemon. She is naturally a very helpful person to those around her. It has even gotten to the point where, even if she needs help, the others always come first. She is a selfless person, never really asking for anything for herself or her own gain. The attention she gets from her job is something she doesn't exactly look forward to. She prefers to do her work quietly, behind the scenes without all of the public recognition.
By nature, she is more on the quiet side. This does not mean she is shy, however. In fact, it's quite the opposite - Miri enjoys making friends! Just don't expect to see her in a huge throng of people. The pokemon ranger prefers to spend her time with one or two people at a time at the most. With her pokemon, it is different. Miri doesn't mind being around them all at once, and frequently works with them as a team to get various jobs done.
Her biggest passion, aside from her pokemon, is being outdoors. Miri is quite athletic, and does a good number of things when she is outside. Rock climbing, swimming, hiking and canoeing are all things she enjoys. Traveling is another thing she likes to do as well. You can tell that the ranger enjoys being in nature, due to the fact that her skin is slightly tanned. Being inside doesn't bother her really, but if she is cooped up inside for long enough, she'll begin to feel stifled.
History: Miriam Jacobs was born in Pueltown, Almia! Her parents, Michael and Marina Jacobs, were thrilled when their little girl came into the world. For years, they never thought they would be able to have children, but then Miri came along! She is their only child, but the family couldn't have been happier.
Miri had a decent life growing up. Her father worked as a pokemon healer while her mother worked as a coordinator. When she was younger, both her parents expected their daughter to go into one of their fields. So, when Miri came home from school one day and passionately exclaimed that she wanted to be a ranger, they were quite surprised. Proud that their daughter had found her true calling in life, the Jacobs decided to be supportive of their little girl, and made sure she would get the best ranger training possible.
Unfortunately, her very first mission didn't go so well. On a mission to scout the area of a recent avalanche close to the nearby Shiver Camp, Miri ended up getting lost. It was only after she took shelter in a nearby cave that things started to look up. She came across a Delibird who was kind enough to share his food with her. This Delibird would play a pivotal role in the ranger's life: he became her very first pokemon, and she called him Fubuki.
It wasn't long after Miri had found Fubuki that she had made up her mind. The two of them were going to travel to the region of Zatao. Almia had enough rangers, the girl explained to her parents. Why not branch out into a region that would be more in need of her services? So the ranger and the Delibird set off to a region unfamiliar to them.
Three pokemon later, Miri continues to work in Zatao. She can happily say, though, that Fubuki isn't alone. He has Eben the Sandshrew, Allene the Rampardos and Dov the Teddiursa to keep him company. Things are going well for the ranger and her team. She enjoys Zatao, and looks forward to working hard and meeting new people & pokemon within the region.

Dex Entry: It carries food rolled up in its tail. It has the habit of sharing food with people lost in mountains.

Specialty: Rescue/Messenger Pokemon
Markings: Fubuki is a common-looking Delibird, except for a few minor differences. For one, his eyes are a bright purple instead of icy blue. The tips of his wings are white, followed by a small line of saffron, and another small line of white. His tail is mainly saffron, except for two small streaks of white that go up the side. On his belly, Fubuki has a saffron strip with white dots of various sizes going up to his chest. His eyes, finally, are masked in red, lined in saffron and accented by another line of red on his cheeks.

Attacks: Aurora Beam, Ice Punch, Fly & Blizzard
Personality: Out of all of Miri's pokemon, Fubuki is the most optimistic. He is a jolly little Delibird that enjoys spending time both with his fellow pokemon and his trainer. Unfortunately, however, he can be prone to bouts of clumsiness. Fubuki is a bit bumbling when delivering messages. Yet, no matter what, he gives it his all, and works with a smile on his face - Miri couldn't ask for anything more.
History: Although most would have expected Miri to find Fubuki, it was quite the opposite! Fubuki was the one to have found Miriam. It was a frigid and snowy day around Shiver Camp in Almia. Miri had been sent out on her first mission to scout the area of a recent avalanche, but had ended up getting lost in the process. Freezing, the ranger managed to find a cave where she could hunker down in away from all the cold and the snow. That was when the snowstorm started. Since the snow was blowing so bad, Miri couldn't leave the safety of the cave, which was unfortunate since she was low on provisions. It must have been her lucky day because there Fubuki was waiting out the storm, bag and all. The Delibird was kind enough to share his food with the lost ranger, and he has been a part of Miri's team ever since.

Markings: Eben is your average-looking sandshrew. In terms of color, his plates are pale yellow, as most of his kind have. There is an exception with a few of his plates, though, which happen to be a soft brown. The sandshrew's eyes are a warm golden color, and his nose is black.

Attacks: Sand Tomb, Dig, Earthquake & Slash
Personality: This is one brave little sandshrew! When a pokemon or human is in danger, Eben wastes no time in coming to the rescue. Given what he went through at Camp Xine with his fellow pokemon, there isn't much that phases him - not even water! When it comes to his trainer, he is very protective of her. The last thing he wants is for Miri to get hurt, and he will do whatever it takes to keep that from happening.

Personality: Allene can seem to be a little rough around the edges. Just by looking at her, she appears intimidating! But even so, Miri isn't afraid of her. As a Rampardos, Allene is quite stubborn and hardheaded. Out of all her pokemon, Miri probably has the most difficult time with this one, most likely because she got Allene from another trainer and she doesn't want to listen. The Rampardos is hasty in nature, and because of that she has a tendency to jump right into things without thinking them through. This can be rather problematic, but slowly and surely Allene is learning to listen and appreciate her new trainer.

Markings: He has a black nose, tail is white & eyes are purple. The front part of his mouth is white. The bridge of his nose, his ears, & the top of his back is all a darker shade of brown. On the darker fur, the Teddiursa has white stripes along his spine. Every paw of his also has a trio of stripes: dark brown, white, dark brown.

Personality: Dov is the newest pokemon in Miri's party, and he is also the youngest. Being just a Teddiursa cub, he would prefer to spend most of his time playing. Miri tries to divide his time up evenly between work and play, as he is a rescue pokemon in-training. Don't let his looks deceive you! Although he may be cute, Dov is quite the mischievous little bear, and a bit of trouble seems to follow wherever he goes.
History: Miri and her pokemon team encountered the Teddiursa cub one fateful day in the Rinaul Mountains. A rock slide had recently taken place in one of the many valleys, and the locals had called on the ranger. Her mission: clear the rocks & rubble and see that any hurt people or pokemon had the proper medical attention. It took a while, but with Eben and Allene's help, she had managed to clean everything up in a few days. It was on their very last day of work that the team stumbled across the little bear pokemon. During the rock slide, he had been trapped in one of the caves. At the time they found him, the poor little guy was unconscious - a rock had hit him in the head when the slide had started. Miri, knowing the Teddiursa needed immediate medical care, finished her job and went straight to the Pokemon Center. Dov was taken care of in the proper hands and made a quick recovery. Since he had been separated from his family during the slide, the cub took to the ranger quite fast. He now sees Miri and the rest of her pokemon as his family, and travels with them wherever they go. His biggest dream is to become a rescue pokemon like the others, helping to save others and taking care of the environment. Yet, being a cub, he has a lot of training to do and a long way to go.
