Name: Ephylia
Age: Just Turned 16, thankyouverymuch.
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: None. Her parents tried to get her into the Weavercraft but she wasn't having any of that. Pfft.
Rank: (Soon-to-be) Candidate
Physical Description: She's shorter than most other girls, standing at roughly 5'4" or so, but doesn't take this to heart; what she lacks in height, she makes up for with her looks and abilities. She's got a pretty face and lovely curves, not too big nor too small; not drop-dead gorgeous by far, but pretty all the same and with a few details here and there she can actually look very lovely. Her skin is fair, a pale tan most of the time but with long days out in the sun it tends to darken evenly. Rich brown hair reaches down below her shoulders and she usually ties it back at the nape of her neck, although the shorter bits in the front tend to hang down in her face at times when she can't tuck them out of the way. Her eyes are hazel and can look more green or brown depending on the amount of light and whether her bangs hang down in front of her eyes, although she claims they change depending on her mood (and she won't tell you which color is which mood, that's your job to figure it out).
She enjoys wearing natural or light colors, mostly tans and beiges along with greens and browns, and has quite a few sets of pretty clothes that her parents got for her in hopes of somehow bribing her into pursuing Weavercraft (yeah, right, like that would work). She also has a silver necklace she never takes off that has a small purple stone attached to the end, which is rather misshapen but with smooth edges.
Personality: Ephylia is as far from being a pushover as possible, and can be a bit bossy at times. She doesn't let anyone walk over her and feels much more comfortable giving orders than taking them, although she knows her place and abilities and will give up her position if someone more knowledgable or experienced steps up to the metaphorical plate. She'll only relent though if she knows for a fact that they know more than she does, but if they don't then they can just stick a sock in it and get back in line. She feels the insatiable need to prove herself to her parents, knowing they preferred to have someone follow in their footsteps and wished for her brother to come back instead when she refused to find a craft. This is perhaps why she would rather lead than follow merely because if she follows, how can she prove herself? Only by leading can she do so, and she'll be the best sharding leader she possibly can. That's just a dream of hers, though, as she's smart enough to know her place for now and will stick to it until she finds some way to prove herself.
She's very easy to get along with and makes friends very easily, and due to how she grew up she understands both genders and can connect with either one, although she still prefers to talk to the boys than the girls, some of which she simply can't comprehend ("Shards, it's just a nail, who cares if it breaks? It'll grow back."). Still, despite making friends easily it's really hard to gain her full trust, but those who do should be honored that they achieved such an accomplishment. Anyone who breaks her trust or gets her mad had better beware; Ephylia has an excellent memory and holds grudges for many Turns, and if anyone tries to even suggest they're better than she is, she will not hesitate to put them back in their place because she is not below any of them, not in the least, and how dare they suggest otherwise. Besides, if she was beneath them, she wouldn't be able to prove herself, and that is completely unacceptable.
Overall, she might come off as snobby and egocentric with all her confidence, but even though she is confident in herself, it's merely because she needs to prove herself somehow, and can't let anyone try to step on her at all. She also has a distinct fear of failure; it doesn't matter what it is, she just does not want to fail and so she tries her absolute best at whatever she does, and can seem to be a sort of perfectionist with chores and whatever tasks she's given.
History: Her history began at six Turns, when her elder brother Zlinven left their home at Southern Boll Hold, and it was then that she began to exist in her parents' eyes. She was nearly at seven Turns by then, and would soon be ready to begin an apprenticeship to follow in her parents' footsteps in the Weavercraft, which her brother clearly gave up on. However, when they thrust all their hopes onto her and tried to get her into the craft, she refused to have anything to do with it and so, from a young age, Luraiya was always underfoot, causing problems and doing exactly what her parents didn't want her to.
For several Turns they tried to get her into any craft they could, especially their own craft, but to no avail. Had she actually been interested in choosing one, instead of shunning them altogether for the sole reason her parents were pushing her towards them, she might have turned to the Harper craft. During this time, her parents were expecting their first-born home any day, figuring he'd fail at Impressing a dragon eventually; certainly he was better suited to Weavercraft, and none would see anything in him. This was obviously not the case, and they eventually realized they were stuck with one to follow in their footsteps, and she wouldn't have anything to do with it. Instead, Ephie was quite content to run around and play with other children her age, although she didn't prefer one gender over the other when looking for playmates. She became quite good at being a little lady with the girls, or romping around like one of the boys, although this ended when she hit puberty, and found herself spending more and more time with the girls than boys, but by their choice, not hers. The boys were no longer interested in the games of their youth, more interested in looking at the pretty girls who were starting to grow into young women, and the girls were doing the same. Although she found a few of the boys to be cute, possibly even developing a crush or two, she still found herself wanting to roughhouse and play around, rather than give up on the fun of the past. She still manages to find ways to do this, though, and often helps with the beastcrafters in the Hall as an excuse to get her hands dirty, rather than sit and look pretty for the boys all day. Which she still likes do to because of the attention she can get, although it'll be a warm day between before she'll admit such a thing. It's been a couple Turns and she's sixteen now, and still stuck at the Hall. She often thinks of her elder brother, wondering if he's really got himself a dragon and daydreaming about what it would be like. When she's not daydreaming about boys that is, but again she wouldn't admit that, either.
