Bastet had been plotting which is what she spent most of her time doing. She was a cub and had cub like ideas though she was taking her idea a little more seriously. After all she was going to take over the pride when she was older! She is going to be a queen who is adored by everyone and she would bring back the slaves because all queens should have slaves and she would rule harshly and fairly... or maybe her sister would rule and she would rule with her? Nope her whole litter would rule and they would be awesome.
She chuckled to herself as she drew little plans in the sand though to look at they were just lines where her claws had made marks in the sand. In her mind however they were top secret plans that meant that one day she would take over and restore the pride to how it should be.
She smirked as she looked down on the finished product. There were claws marks everywhere going in different directions. It looked a mess and in reality thats what it was. She would need some loyal supporters though. You can't rule without loyal followers, she was sure about that. In which case she had to make another plan!

Sauntering through, Quidel didn't notice little Bastet - and if he didn't notice her, he certainly didn't notice her plans. How come he didn't see her? Well, he was concentrating on carrying the largest skull he had found yet, in his relatively small jaws. It was because of this, his paw came crashing down in the middle of the dark cub's 'plans'. In the sand, amongst the random lines, his pawprint remained.
And he was marching on, not knowing what disturbance of the force he had caused. Dun, dun, dun!

"Do you mind you stupid thing!" She shouted at the older male. She was not impressed that all her plans had just been ruined by this idiot. She might have been small and she might not have the fire colours but it was in her heart and right now she wasn't looking all that good. She was standing and snarling and well she looked rather like a black ball of raging fur. Her red eyes were staring right at the male and she was far from impressed.
"Who are you anyway? Do you have a name? Or is it just stupid." She narrowed her eyes and glared. She was not impressed.
"You just ruined my plans... all of my plans! How inconsiderate!" She continued to glare not blinking once. Stupid stupid lion.

Quidel stopped, rigid at the younger cub's shouts. He put down the skull he was carrying, and clenched his jaw. Turning around, his emerald eyes glistened with a fire of their own. He was not impressed at all with the the black ball of rage, but he puffed himself up to his full height.
"I am not stupid, and my name isn't stupid either. I am Quidel," the then continued with much more proudness, "Son of Jiryan and Kenna, the queen of Safi, or well," he lowered his voice, and muttered, "used to be."
Then with a huff, he again stood tall, "And what about you? And your plans? What plans? There was nothing but sand where I walked"

Kenna's son? Woops.
"Queen Kenna? Oh... and yes there were plans here! They were plans to make Kenna queen again and for us to rule the sands as we should." She was rather amusing really, this small black cub with such large and unlikely beliefs. Maybe she would grow out of them as she grew? Maybe she wouldn't but generally these plans were shared with no-one but he was the son of Kenna so that meant he was okay.
"I am Bastet, daughter of Kamara and Vuvimoto." Half sibling of the regent. It was something she had been told and until she had learnt that Kimeti was a good Safi she had been disgusted that her mother would have bred such a thing but it was all good, she wasn't to know and so Bastet had decided she was proud of her parents. They were both true traditionalists who wouldn't mate with any rogue scum. She smiled as the thoughts of her parents went through her mind, granted she wasn't of any special birth as far as she knew but they were true to their beliefs and that was good enough for her.

It seemed that in the short time that the both of them had lived the lives of traditionalists, that the ways had seeped into their furr-filled bodies to the marrow. But, proud as Quidel was of his heritage, he tried to see things clearly, and think them through. As much as he would love for his mother to rule again -- "I think mother is enjoying herself as she is now."
At least, he presumed she was. Though, on second thought, maybe not.
"I don't know,...do you think she would even want to be queen again?" Quidel flattened his ears, and looked around. He didn't want to get caught by one of the simo. "Maybe mother has her own plans,..."

Why wouldn't she want to be queen? Maybe Bastet should grow and rule them all instead, yes that seemed like a good idea. She would be the best queen ever and those who weren't worthy would be made in to slaves. She smiled to herself and chuckled a little before remembering she wasn't on her own.
"Maybe you are right. I just... don't like them." She had only met one cub here but he had annoyed her boasting about his father who to her was far from interesting.
Her ears flicked listening as she watched him look around. She couldn't hear anything but that didn't mean no one was listening.
"I shall ditch my plans then." She wouldn't, she was obsessed with it but if anyone was listening she had made them happy and that was her plan.

"Yeah,...they can be fricken annoying,.." He said, remembering one girl he had met, with a small snarl. "You gotta admit though - this place does have a more aesthetic quality to it. And for the most part, it feels safe, right?"
Of course, maybe since he was older now than he had been in the old lands, he wasn't as easily scared of things now. experience was the best teacher, after all.

"I...I can't remember..." She let out a soft sigh. "I was a tiny cub when we came back so I don't really remember the lands. I just spend time listening to the stories and learn what I can." She nodded as she spoke. She was certain that all this knowledge would be useful one day.
"Do you think it's right, that we mustn't believe in our goddess?" She always wondered if the others had just accepted it but something deep within her told her that it was wrong to dismiss the goddess. She was important to the pride and she didn't know why but she was sure one day her dreams would tell her.

"Best to keep it all iny our head if you do." Needless to say, Quidel was a little paranoid of the 'other' firekin. "Either way, they can't truely control what you believe or don't believe in."
At least, unless they were able to totally brainwash you. Quidel wouldn't let that happen though! At least not to him! He'd hold firm to the ideals he was born with!

Bastet listened and nodded.
"Yes you are right!" She wrinkled her nose a little as she thought a bit more and then smiled.
"Well it was nice to meet you but I should go find father before he wonders where I am. Maybe I will see you about sometime." She smiled as she spoke, she didn't mind him, he wasn't scum like some of the others here.
"Byeeeeee!" She called out as she turned and ran off back towards the dens.
