Sil had been trudging along the riverbank for quite some time now, at first her steps had been angry and she was fairly sure she'd foolishly passed up a few likely ways out. She wasn't going to turn back however - her pride wouldn't let her. Now and again she'd try her paw at climbing the slick mud wall alongside the river but so far no luck in that department. The light was fading now and it would soon be light, Sil really wanted to get home - and she was feeling somewhat childish for the way she'd spoken to Fantasia - if she ever ran across him again she guessed she'd have to apologize, he'd just caught her on a bad day is all. A bad day that was still menacing her she thought miserably to herself, tail tucked between her legs as she curled up to rest in a depression alongside a boulder, still damp fur aking her shiver now and again.

Hailing from nowhere, Korrigan was a strange one. Her gray coat was marked with black and white, the outline of dragon wings on her shoulders, the cogs of time littering her back. Icy green eyes surveyed the ground while she walked, never looking up or ahead but down at her paws, watching them pad, one by one, over the dirt. Over. Carefully placed so as not to get the brown powder on her black fur or under her nails. No, that wouldn't be good at all. Her bracelets chimed together. The gauntlet's nails scraped the earth. The scent of something stung her nostrils, forcing her to stop walking and look up. The raven-clawed gem on the chain around her neck banged into her chest once, then froze, stilled in time. A smile flitted across her face. A young one... Black and silver pelt with pink markings. She looked...lost. Korrigan's lips tilted upwards and she padded forwards careful once again. She paused a few steps off, giving her coat a quick lick, like a cat. "Hello there," she called out, her voice low and almost husky.

There was something to be had when, raised by a mother who had taught him the cruelty of strangers, the harsh reality of the world they were in, Denzel still opted to try and follow other wolves from behind. In this case, a certain adult had come dangerously close to his and Blithra's den, and instinctual urges to protect his only family led the adolescent to track this unwitting female and see what she was up to; paranoia had settled in the back of the mentally scarred one, and he was afraid of some invasion. After all, that Akinobu wolf had causedh is mother hysterics; what could more than wolf do?
It was half this need to make utter certainty that they were safe and half intrigue at the wanderer's pelt and items that Denzel found himself trailing after her. Metal! Just like the thing around his leg! If she knew more about it, and if she wasn't hostile, maybe he could restore his ailing memory . . . Normally it would be hard to keep quiet with the leftover clinks sometimes clattering together, but Denzel was slowly becoming practiced with hiding the sound, dragging the leg patiently across the ground so as not to disturb the metal mouth or tongue clamped about his ankle. Yet here it was that he scented another smell, and his target approached what looked like a small buyndle of gray and pink. Green eyes narrowed, Denzel kept his distance and watched their interaction, slightly crouched.

Sil huddled very still against the boulder - attempting to appear as small and inconsequential as possible, perhaps..if she stayed still enough the strangely marked she-wolf wouldn't notice her. She did after all seem quite intent on watching her on feet. And my what feet they where Sil thought to herself - what on earth was that spiky thing covering up her one forepaws? and that weird sparky thing about her neck? It looked like it was clutched in a birds claw but Sil had never seen a bird with feet that big before. And those markings..so bold..and well frightening all sharp blacks and whites, the ones on her muzzle looked like giant fangs and Sil found herself wondering if this wolfs real fangs matched the ones her markings portrayed.
Oh no...she'd stopped, and not only stopped...but appeared to be looking her over. Why had she ever decided to wander off today? Sil's eyes darted about for some path of escape but her options were small - dash around the boulder and make a run for it down the riverbed...or make a break for it along the mud wall she'd been trying to climb out of and run right past the strange wolf - who would probably snap her in two.
Of course she hadn't attacked yet...and Sil decided that for the moment her smartest course of action was probably to stay put. Maybe she only looked scary - maybe she was quite nice. Sitting up, Sil pressed herself against the boulder, mud matted coat sticking in all directions and her tail pressed tightly to her body.
"He..Hello"

For the first half of her journey, the wing-marked she-wolf hadn't noticed her quiet follower. His pawsteps had been surprisingly silent and his breathing short and shallow. But when her focus had left her own small paws and had surveyed around the grounds, she had come across him trailing her. It made a smile rise to her lips. What a perfect-pelted little wolf... Little pet, little slave...
Nevertheless, she never let on that she knew he was there. She watched him only when the need of her curiosity arose.
But now he was forgotten as her attention was on the little pup, huddling her body against that dirty, dirty bolder. With one look at the dusty ground, Korrigan lowered herself into a sit, tail wrapped around her paws as to not cause a dirt cloud. She offered a smile. "You are far away from your home," she said, guessing. "You want to get back, but you fear the dangers of the Night. Am I correct, little one?"

Their words were quiet and he leaned forward to hear them more clearly. How frightened the little one was, a small bundle of muddied fur in comparison to the tattooed stranger. The adult's tone seemed gentle enough, but again Denzel's previous experiences had left him more than a little wary of first impressions. She at least didn't seem to have noticed him while she travelled, which was good enough, and the adolescent dared another step forward in case something should happen. What was a pup doing by herself looking like that?

Sil tensed as the she-wolf moved, but she was only sitting down and the little pup soon relaxed somewhat, ear's previously flattened against her skull pricked slightly so that she could hear the she-wolfs questions clearer.
"Well...yes, I suppose that sound's about right.."
Sil finally managed to speak out - sure she'd have lied to another pup about being afraid, but one didn't lie to adults - especially large scary looking ones with strange things on her hide.
"I..I just want to go home - my mother and father are probably looking for me"
She added - it might be good she reasoned to make this wolf aware that someone might just be looking for her - could possibly be arriving at any moment! Far fetched as that thought may be.

Korrigan felt something inside of her stir, like a breeze against -- no, under -- her skin. Something, motherly? She bit back a laugh at the thought, but... The pup needed help... But who was she to help?
She reached out a paw, the gauntlet scraping the ground with a soft sound. It was a two-leg contraption, made of leather and steel. She reached for the pup's face, ever gentle, metal claws brushing black fur. A shiver of a thrill went up her spine. She wondered what kind of ransom her parents would pay.
"I am Korrigan," she said with a smile. "What is your name, little pup? Where are you from? And why, why are you all alone..." The word came out dark-hued and almost threatening.

Those last words indeed set off something within Denzel: a low, soft growl escaped his maw unbidden, ears tilting back against his head, and he could only hope that they were too keen on their conversation to hear him. Aah, how he should trust his instincts more, what with the strange weapon bound across her paws and the black whispers! She spoke darkness like an alluring purr, and if he did not do something, the pup could get into more trouble before her parents found her. Or worse, the female, this Korrigan, would return to his very home and torture his poor mother further! Indeed, it was paranoia. But she had done nothing yet to physically threaten the pup, and thus Denzel could only wait, fur tensed where he crouched. A reason, any small reason, and he would leap into the fray.

Sil's eyes widened at the feel of the strange metal claws flowing through her fur, it as so cold..and smooth, an involuntary shiver rushed up her spine - and unlike the other chattering motions tonight this one came from within. The shewolf was so..confusing..gentle motions and seemingly kind words shadowed by something dark and menacing - like storm clouds on a sunny day. Korrigan, it was an interesting name and Sil was torn between liking the female and running screaming into the woods. She almost told her her name was Sil but then recalled Fantasia's words about the nickname.
"Silhouette..they named me Silhouette. My family lives in Akiiki chibale lands but I snuck away early this morning because I thought my family was suffocating - but now I miss them so and I've been walking up the river looking for a way out for..hours and hours..but the mud wall is too steep."
Despite her nervousness once Sil started speaking she rattled out her whole tale in one giant rush, though she still wasn't sure what to think of the strange female and in her fear she thought perhaps she heard a growl from somewhere..somewhere behind the strange one...did she have a friend? or cohort...Sil stretched her head up to peer over the shewolf although her glance was brief and only done with half her attention.

Inside her heart, she felt a strange tightening as the puppy told her story. And a rush of glee as the gauntlet's claws stroked through puppy fur and the little girl never once pulled away or shrieked in fear. Not that she could -go- anywhere. She bit back another laugh.
She could pick up the dirty pup by the scruff, careful not to get any dirt on her own coat, and put her on flat ground.
She could do one of three things.
1) She could turn tail and leave the little one in the open, safe from nothing.
2) She could take the puppy home, to this Akiiki Chibale, and get on the pack's good side.
or 3) She could take the little one with her, creating her own little unwilling slave.
Korrigan pondered upon this. Hard decision. With a deep breath, she looked down at the pup. "I suppose you want to go home? I could help, you know..." A murmur against the falling night. And a small smile.

No, Korrigan's words were still laced with poison as far as he could tell, and the sweet patience she had only made his fur twitch further with tensed muscles stiff beneath. This, not-so-little Denzel saw through, and the low growl continued at the back of his throat. Where had his restraint gone? Gone, gone far away along with his memory, were the sewing gaps could not heal in his mind and left him with empty hollows and erratic thoughts. He could not, would not let someone be endangered - even if he was utterly misreading the whole situation.
"Away." Denzel did not notice that the pup had tried to glance at him, his bright green eyes narrowed with suspicion as he stepped towards the winged wolf. "Away," he repeated, low and deep even for an adolescent, ever slow like the passages of time on a dog's day afternoon, each word annunciated clearly. "Go. Way. From her."

Sil hunkered down slightly as the strange wolf looked down at her - at least she'd stopped waving that strange paw about the little pup told herself - and she was smiling, and her words were promising to help...and yet Sil sensed more then truly heard that dark whisper behind them. Oh she wanted..dearly wanted to trust the strange wolf - she was an adult after all and could take her home.
"will you?"
Sil asked as the female stated she could help and then remembering her manners something that until now she's clearly forgotten today.
"Plea.."
Her voice trailed off as another wolf appeared - perhaps the growl she'd heard earlier hadn't been in her mind. This new wolf also had something strange on one of his feet but he didn't seem nearly as scary as Korrigan was - even if her voice and words were quite convincing. Sil turned tail and tried to make a mad scramble for the small crevice where the boulder met the mud wall.

Ah, so the little follower decided to make his appearance. Korrigan turned away from Silhouette for a moment, glancing into the dark-masked face of a green-eyed boy. A boy. No older than six or eight months. She gave a small chuckle, lips turning up into a grin.
"You think you're threatening?" she asked softly, head tilted, tail giving one wag. She stood her ground; there was nothing to fear from the strange boy with one shackle. He seemed...unright, anyway.
Turning back, she realized the puppy had scrambled out of the way, huddled once again next to that boulder. Korrigan frowned and looked back at the brown teen. "Happy?"

"Happy" wasn't ever quite the word to use with Denzel, but knowing that the pup was at least a little away from the clawed one eased his tension - slightly. It wasn't that he was looking for a fight, no, the adolescent was still healing his shoulder from the last one, but . . . oh, what was it that had him even journey after the female in the first place again? Accursed memory . . .
. . . - Ah! Right. The humans. Denzel jiggled his leg slightly to bring attention to the metal mouth clamped there, links ringing together. "Leave her. See this?" Again he shook the metal object around, words spilling slowly over. "Look . . . look for human. Know? Leave her. Look for human?"
