Dreydonna sat on her rump in an abandoned building, a pile of pointy sticks at her side. On her other side was a pile of pointy arrowheads. In front of her was a pile of not-so-pointy cord. She was picking up a pointy stick, picking up some string, and tying the pointy arrowhead to the pointy end of the stick. She had just made a very pointy spear. She then put this behind her, where a pile of very pointy finished spears lay.
She repeated this monotonously, getting into the rhythm. There is almost always a rhythm to go with work when you look hard enough. Finally, when all three piles in front of her were rather lower, and the pile behind her was rather higher, Dreydonna got up and stretched. She floated through the air, picked up a finished spear at random, and took it with her up in the rafters. If an intruder came in while she was still planning her world domination, they would get a very pointy surprise.

Someone did wander into the abandoned building. However, it probably wasn't what the Gengar had expected. Merlin, out on a rare midnight "stroll", had caught sight of the abandoned building and immediately saw it's potential. Potential to be set with all manner of traps, that is.
With a delighted chuckle, he floated into the building and looked around. Then he saw the pile of very pointy spears, as well as a few materials to make them left on the floor. Jackpot. Merlin merrily whistled as he floated over to the pile of spears, not even questioning why they where there in the first place.

Dreydonna was mildly surprised to find another ghost type in her temporary storage house, but then, it was a very good place for ghosts. She threw her spear carefully; it was perfectly aimed and whistled right by Merlin's 'ear' and landed, point down, in the dirt beside the other spears.
Her presence now known, Dreydonna floated in front of the misdreavus. She cracked a grin that seemed to be too wide for her face, then said, "Hello there! I see you like my spears. I'm Dreydonna."

Merlin grinned, bemused, as he heard the spear whistle by his head. "Ah, so I am not alone, then," he mused aloud just before catching sight of Dreydonna. "So, these are of your hand, then? Such lovely craftmanship. So much potential for scaring humans. And with what is left, it would be no problem to create some device to launch them just so!"
Merlin chuckled with an evil grin as he thought of ways to use the materials, then realized he hadn't introduced himself to such a beautifully devious ghost. "Ah, do forgive my rambling. I am Merlin. A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Dreydonna." And with a flourish and a cackle, he bowed in greeting.

Dreydonna grinned even wider. "I'm glad to meet you too, Merlin," she cackled. "A device to launch them, you say? I never thought of that... Hmm..." Just who was this ghost, who came up with such lovely ideas? If Dreydonna made such a device, she could shoot the spears farther and with more force. She sadly did not have very strong arms. But at least she had any arms at all, unlike her days as a gastly and haunter.
She noticed that Merlin did not have any arms. Perhaps that was how he came up with the idea of making a launcher? "How would you make this device," she asked. "Should it be like a large crossbow? I wonder how you make such a thing." Dreydonna was quite serious about anything that would help her wreak havoc.

Merlin chuckled. He felt elated that this beautifully mischievous Gengar was taking to his idea so well. "Sadly, the string we is not elastic enough for a bow of any sort. However, it is strong, and good for holding multiple shafts together. My plan was to construct a catapult or trebuchet of sorts, using the left over spear heads, as well as what ever scrap metal we can find, as weights. If they are positioned right, the spear heads could come down while the main contraption flings the spear. It's both a close and long range device!" Merlin chuckled at the elegant brilliance of his own plan.

Dreydonna's red eyes widened in delight. "That is a splendid idea!" she said quite exuberantly. "Let's get to work, and quickly! A human might come in before we're finished." Humming to herself, she floated to one side of the room and used Psychic to peel the tinny metal from the wall. Some rotting would lay underneath.
She 'carried' the metal over and lay it down in a new pile. She felt quite lucky to have met such an ingenious misdreavus. As she worked, she asked, "So, Merlin, do you live around here? My trainer lives in this town."

"Yes, the faster we get to work, the more time we will have to check if it works." Merlin floated over the pile of rope and, with a little twirl, caused it to snake up and wrap a few times around a stick lying nearby. The rope then relaxed as Merlin turned his attention to a sharp spearhead. Like a violinist with a bow, he stroked the sharp arrowhead along the cord until it severed from the main mass.
"Well, I was living in an unfinished, abandoned building until I was rudely captured by a Pokemon trainer who calls herself Lisa." Merlin replied as he held up two sticks in a triangle while the string seemed to tie itself around the intersection. "She lives mostly in a place she calls the 'Gym Dorms' here in town, although she does occasionally go to visit her Uncle on the outskirts of town."

Dreydonna laughed. "So your trainer is a gym leader. My trainer is named Renekai. She wants to get a gym bad pretty badly." The gengar laughed, then carelessly tossed a ruined piece of wood over her shoulder. "I lived in the Howling Forest until I was caught, quite a while ago. It was getting dull in the woods, so I have no complaints."
Dreydonna had just managed to break an important-looking rafter from the ceiling using Psychic. The building didn't fall down, though, so she just added the bar to the pile of materials. She glanced at the spears and gave a sigh. She remembered quite clearly who had given her her first spear. But she tried not to think about it; that was in the past, and there was a super weapon that needed making.

Merlin laughed. "No, Lisa isn't the Gym Leader. She's just an assistant. You know, accepting battles to filter out the weaklings. Sadly, Lisa's too much of a book worm to actually have a Gym of her own. Now a library...." Merlin rolled his eyes as he lifted and tied another set of sticks together. With deftness of a master contraption builder, Merlin whipped up the base in record time.
"Say," Merlin noticed Dreydonna's negative emotions leaking out, "you seem to have something on your mind. I thought you had no complaints about your trainer." Merlin lifted another set of sticks, this time tying both ends together. "You don't have to speak of it, if you prefer. Just realize that I can get fat of off emotions. Then I have to diet, and it's a nightmare. More so for anyone who crosses me, though." Merlin chuckled a bit, letting the sticks fall to the floor and turning his attention to the beam.

"Hm?" Dreydonna said, a little embarrassed that she had let her mind wander enough to affect her emotions. "Oh, it's nothing... about my trainer... Just a disappointment," she said lightly. She carried another piece of scrap metal into the pile and watched Merlin work.
"I think a library would be fun," she said, "to destroy." She smiled dreamily at the thought of ripping up so much paper. It would give someone a scare to have books flapping like birds and pinching their noses. "But this contraption is pure genius," she said out loud. "It will send them to the hospital."

Merlin forgot about the emotional dip and laughed along with Dreydonna. "If not the normal hospital, then at least the mental one! They'll tell stories for years about this!" Merlin cackled with manic glee as he marked out places on the large beam for Dreydonna to cut. "It's too large to use just plain," he noted, "but the added strength of the metal will make it sturdier, and more easy to reuse."

Dreydonna nodded, though she didn't entirely understand. She built things, it was true, but never anything so complicated. Her talents were unmaking things, like unscrewing chandeliers and exploding a house. But the change was nice, and it was fun working with another ghost who shared her ideals.
Dreydonna thoughtfully dropped some long rope that she had found right onto a piece of metal. The crash was louder than to be expected. "If we put wheels on the weapon," she said, more or less to herself, "It would be easier to move. Then we could go to the people, instead of waiting for them to come to us."

Merlin's eyes sparkled. "Brilliant, Dreydonna! Why did I not think of that? Ah, and we could even put spikes on the wheels for added "traction" if you get my drift." Merlin winked slyly at the other ghost before swiftly rigging axles to the base of the spearpult. This was turning out to be quite the wonderfully violent little thing, he though to himself. The weapon wasn't turning out that bad, either.

Dreydonna was flattered. This ghost understood her so well! She carried on collecting materials until she felt that they had enough. She floated back to Merlin and watched him work. She didn't know how to help, so she was content to watch their horrid machine be brought to life.
She was soon bored with hanging around, however, and decided to begin demolishing the old building just a little bit more. She floated up to the ceiling and began punching the ceiling tiles up, revealing wires and cords. Dreydonna's devilish face was suddenly alight with pure ecstasy.
