Physical Description: At a not very imposing 1.65 meters tall (About Five foot Five) and 56.6 kilograms (About 125 pounds), Rence is rather small and harmless-looking. She has dark red hair that she cuts herself, which surrounds her head in such a way that it seems like a short, fluffy mane. Her skin is on the darker side of white and tends to burn suprisingly easily. Rence normally wears clothes that are halfway between functional and sexy.
[x][x][x]Personality: Rence is, to say the very least, quirky. If she's being serious, few are as straight-forward and direct. If she's NOT being serious, on the other hand, her speech is often cryptic, filled with plays on words and random innuindo, and generally used-to-confuse. This stems from her belief that people use too little abstract thought and that cofusing them promotes said thinking.
Rence also has very little respect for authority, at least in the tradional sense. If you prove yourself respectable in her eyes- and it's not that hard- she'll follow your orders to a T. If she thinks you're a total idoit, however, she'll make it exceedingly obvious to you.
Rence enjoys mind-games, and it shows in her choice of company. If she's bored and isn't supposed to be doing anything at the moment, she'll track down the most manipulative or disturbed person she can and try and start a conversation with them. Since she's not easily bothered, they often find that she's more disturbing to them than they are to her. If you attempt to make her uncomfortable, she'll go along with it until
you're uncomfortable. If you try to mislead her, get ready to be confused.
Around her patients, Rence is (normally) exceedingly professional. Those that get to know her outside of treatment might think she's completely different.
History: Rence had a rather quiet childhood. Her family was thourghly upper-middle class. She moved a grand total of four times from when she was born to the day she turned eighteen. She made a few As, many Bs, and a few Cs. When she started college, she wanted to be a lawyer. As it turns out, however, she found every branch of the law thourghly boring. Psychology, however, caught her interest.
Rence came bright and shiny out of the bowels of the higher education system, ready to launch right into a clinic and start helping people be less insane. However, she quickly found that there were, in fact, an abundance of psychologists around, and few were willing to hire an inexperienced n00b to the feild. After much searching, she found a place with jobs aplenty- the prison system. At first, she took the job grudgingly. However, she quickly found that the contrary attitudes of career criminals, so quick to wear on others, were in fact just the kind of challenge she enjoyed.
Within a matter of years she gained recognition for being one of the best rehabilitators available (or, as she would explain, she was a "habilitator"). Things were looking up for her. Her career came crashing to a halt, however, however, when it was discovered that she was in a relationship with a former patient. This being a big no-no, she was quickly fired, and no other prisons would hire her. Rejected from what she loved, she decided to find the most out-there job available. Boy, did she ever. In a matter of time, she was on a spaceship hurtling at faster than light speeds toward a planet no human had ever set foot on.
Particular Skills: Rence's main skill is making people confused and uncomfortable, or the opposite if she so chooses.
Other Stuff: Rence hates being called "Flor," "Flory," or anything that reminds her that she is, in fact, named after flowers.
Rence is a doctor, thankyouverymuch, and she'll like you much better if you address her as such.
She owns a small, self-aware computer. His name is Herman. She might feel threatened by him if he had the ability of independent movement, but he is a small box with a screen and some speakers. He makes it a point to regularly remind her that he is, infact, not human nor even technically alive.
Rence would love to meet an alien, especially if it didn't eat her for trying to figure out the way it thinks.
