Worst play caller I will give you, but worst? The Guy has one of the better winning percentages of coaches, was one of the quicker coaches to get to 100+ wins. Only one of two or three HC's to have coached their teams to 4 straight Championship games. Also is quite possibly the best talent searcher in the 2-7 rounds in the draft. Under his tenure, the team is one of the most successful franchises this century. They have the most players drafted that still have a job even on other teams than any other team. Have the most playoff appearances of any team in the league in since 2000 and have done all of that while still having one of the lowest caps in spending. Now that makes one hell of a great coach. Because with his position, he pretty much runs who what where and when unlike most other head coaches.

Reid is like Art Shell with a better PR staff. He makes terrible decisions at the worst possible times. His players make boneheaded mistakes (like the DeSean Jackson spike, or McNabb's pathetic eight-minute drill in Super Bowl XXXIX) and nobody ever blames him. He doesn't seem to understand the strengths and weaknesses of his players even remotely, as we witness every week when poor David Akers is forced to try 50-yard field goals with a 43-yard leg and their crappy offensive line is forced to keep ramming it down someone's throat on third-and-1. His clock management has always been horrendous -- always -- even back when the Eagles were going to the NFC title game every year.
Here's how much Reid has slipped as an NFL coach: During the Skins-Eagles game, Antwaan Randle-El threw an option pass TD that Reid challenged even though Randle-El was clearly behind the line. There was no debate. I watched the play live and didn't even know what Reid was challenging until Troy Aikman guessed it correctly. ("You're exactly right, Troy!") So we wasted two minutes watching replays of Randle-El throwing the pass from two yards behind the line of scrimmage, then Philly eventually losing a timeout on one of the five dumbest challenges of this decade. And I was sitting there thinking that we needed some sort of "Coaching Boners" stat to capture the following things …
1. Calling for inane challenges that have no chance of getting overturned.
2. Horrendous goal-line plays that cause fans to start booing even as the ball-carrier is getting tackled.
3. Egregious and indefensible brain-farts by a player.
4. Any needlessly counterproductive decision along the lines of "David Akers couldn't make a field goal of more than 50 yards right now unless we injected him with enough cocaine, Red Bull and HGH to kill a thoroughbred horse, but screw it, we're trying this 52-yarder anyway."
5. Screwing up the clock management in the "Two minutes to go and we need two scores" scenario.
6. Screwing up your three timeouts when there is less than four minutes left, you're trailing and you need to save as many seconds as possible.
When you think about it, we could easily keep track of those six categories. And if we did, we'd find that Andy Reid has doubled the total of any other coach for 2008 coaching boners through five weeks. I am convinced."

I am convinced."Those would have been in the first half of the season right? Hmm, lets look what was going on... Injuries Rookies Tough schedule Those are enough to throw any team like that through a rutt. I remember that Challenge as well. The game was starting to get out of hand and I can almost tell you with certainty that he was doing that to buy his team time to get themselves together. By throwing the challenge, the offense will bet longer amounts of time as opposed to regular time outs. DeSean's spike? Rookie. Reid was never good with clock management. Never really that much of a problem either. Trying to ram something from a 3rd and 1? Man, I even said the last two years that they had no Rush Blocking. That team was unable to run unless Westbrook managed to slip a few tackles and squirt free. Also they were playing the friggin Bears for that example. That should explain it in itself. Cannot always predict what will happen in 4 minutes so you have to go with your best guess. Reid usually is pretty good with his TO's over his span as a HC. Akers also was making kicks in pregame warmups from past 60yds more than 3/4's of the time last year. If you remember last season he always had enough to make it, his accuracy is just off. I can keep going man. Just bring it. LOL All of those were good points, but please tell me where you copied it from and I can tell you how much of an idiot that guy is. Reid in under his first ten years became ONLY 1 of a handfull of coaches to win 100 games in that span. And he also has one of the best offenses categorically over the past decade in terms of points scored. So bash all you want, but you cannot call him Art Shell with a better PR. Besides, name 5 great players that were drafted under Art that made as much impact as Reid's upper 5.

Reid is definetately not the worst Coach. If anything, I would put him at like, 4th or 5th best Coach.

But over the long run, I would rather have him because at least he has a legacy of winning and finding talent where talent is over looked. Also he has been to more CCG's already than most get to throughout their entire career. And he is poised for most likely another few before being done.
