 Bransen, being a young Kuniku, and thus full of energy and curiosity, had managed to wander away from his mother's side early in the morning. He had heard of the wonderful island of temples and gardens to the east, and had thought to visit it, even if his mother had told him he could not. So, before everyone else had woken up, he stole away down towards the sea.
Which lead him to this point in the middle of a loud, busy town, trying helplessly to find his way to the docks. He was not short of food, for the humans were more than happy to toss him a little something if he asked in the sort of weird pantomime they understood, but he was most definitely short on company and sense of direction. His mother had brought them there a few times, and he could have sworn that getting there would be easy - but every landmark he thought he recognized was wrong, and the he couldn't figure out what kind of pantomime to make for a dock so he could ask a human, and he was getting lonely and frustrated.
He trotted out of the square he has been wandering in and sat down in a quiet, shady corner. He didn't recognize any of the area around him - he needed to think about where he was, and how to get back to somewhere he knew!

Dimi was on a usual outing, just wandering around a town enjoying the sights and smells the humans created. She had no direction to be going in particular and chose to go wherever seemed the most interesting at the time.
At the moment she was chasing sun rays around the main square of the town. All the while, she was kind of dancing and creating her own theme music with a random series of barks, yips, and growls. Almost like a kuniku beatbox. Dimi had started to gather a small crowd of adoring humans. After a few minutes more, she was all tuckered out and bowed to the humans signaling the end of her performance.
Dimi began to trot out of the square when she noticed a shivering shape in a corner. At first she thought it was a giant dust bunny and was going to attack it. Then she realized it was a kuniku pup! She pranced over to the poor thing, probably scaring the crap out of it in the process.
"HI! What's your name? What are you doing here? You have really pretty wings. I remember when I had wings. They were so much fun. WOAH, your eyes are like - AWESOME!" Dimi prattled away for a good minute before waiting to see if the kuniku pup would even answer any of this.

Bransen was staring down the road, away from the square when another Kuniku yelled in his poor little ears. He yelped and jumped, and wheeled to look at her. She was a really pretty green color, and was wearing some interesting stuff - and talking a mile a minute, asking him all kinds of questions! He gamely tried to chatter along and answer all of them, but she was just going too fast! After a few minutes, he decided he had had enough and he barked, "HEY, LADY," to her. In the moment of quiet after, he quickly asked her, "Would you either slow down or stop talking, please? You're going so fast it's making me dizzy!"

Dimi stared at the pup before she replied. He apparently wasn't used to fast talking, and so she had to slow down considerably. She tried a new tactic.
"Whaaaaaaaaaaaat'ssss yooooooooooooooooooourrrr naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaameeeee?" she asked speaking as slowly as possible. Then realizing that she still had more questions, she began talking at a normal pace, pausing considerably between each question.
"What are you doing here?"
"Are you lost?"
"Your eyes are still AWESOME. Your mum must be desperately worried about you." At this thought Dimi's eye brows furrowed together and a look of deep contemplation came across her face.

Bransen blinked in confusion a couple of times when the older Kuniku started talking really slow. She must have noticed, because she started talking at a reasonable pace. Bransen chirped along with her questions.
"My name's Bransen.
"I'm on an adventure to visit the island of temples and gardens.
"I-"
He shuffled his paws in the dirt, bowed his head down, and looked up at her sullenly. "A little."
And then a short, shy thank-you.
And then, seeing the older Kuniku's consternation over the location of his family, he quickly chattered, "I've gotten away from my mother because I wanted to see this really pretty island and I know she wouldn't let me visit there in a million bazillion years but I heard it's really pretty and I've been trying to find my way to the docks to catch the ferry and all the turns are wrong and - and -"
He'd said all of this very quickly, the way his new companion had before, but his tiny little head was spinning because he hadn't gotten the knack of taking breaths while talking a mile a minute. He breathed heavily as he concluded warily, "Y- you're not gonna take me back to my mother, are you?"
