Niji stilled in his walking to look around him, not much had changed in these parts save for the leaves turning to the color of fire. The soft early morning light and the birds that song out happily in their work, proved to brighten his mood even more. Walking through long grass he shivered lightly as cold dew gathered on him before running down his sides and to his hooves, he was just aimlessly walking not really knowing where he was going. When he had been a foal he had gotten a bit lost, and stayed away from his herd for quite awhile but now he was back and happy to see everything healthy. As he walked along, suddenly a pheasant shot up right in front of him and he reared back shaking his head side to side in his brief panic. Having been spooked he bolted and ran blind to his surroundings until instinct loosened and he stopped.
Trying to calm his racing heart, Niji turned navy blue eyes to look about him and find out just where he was at. A large lake was only feet away from him; its still water had mist rolling across its glass like surface. So he was near the middle of the territory perhaps? I had been to long since he was here, nickering to himself he gave his head another shake before walking toward the lake to get a drink and to further attempt to calm himself.

Opaline woke up fairly early that morning. A small yawn escaped the little filly's mouth. Standing she stretched getting the stiffness out of her limbs. Moving over to her sleeping father she pulled on his ear with her teeth trying to wake him. Her two other siblings as well as her mother were still fast asleep. "Father Wake up, I'm thirsty." She took a few steps back after she whispered this into the large stallion's ear. Shaking herself she waited. If the first pull on his ear didn't work she would try another.Wystan was a light sleeper, his eyes opened at the first pull on his ear. Yawning his head tilted to the sky to see what 'time' it was. "Little one," He whispered back his voice soft. "Its very early still,""But father!" She whined softly her tail constantly flicking behind her. Her face turning into a small pout."Alright, alright," He replied tiredly a small smile coming to his face. He wondered how she could be this energetic this early in the morning. He moved to his feet, careful not to wake any of the others. The sleeping fur tailed lizard at his side had stirred when he moved but didn't wake.Grinning Opaline darted off from the little clearing which they had made their home for the time being. She checked a few times over her shoulder to make sure her father was following her. Each time he looked back he smiled gently at her. Jumping over brush and leaves, sticks and roots. Opaline and her father finally made it to the edge of the lake. Her eyes widen as she saw the mist still lurking over the lake. "Father! Father!" She cried out happily, "Look at that! Isn't it cool!" she was bouncing up and down at the edge of the lake, not noticing that there was another kirin already there this early in the morning. He smiled at her, keeping an eye on his little one. She really did have to much energy in the morning. Finally he made it to her side and nuzzled her lightly. "Opaline, my dear one you should be quieter in the morning. Many are still asleep and it would be rude to wake them." He whispered softly to her. He lifted his head glancing around him keeping his eye on the area, mainly keeping it out for danger. Spotting another Kirin the stallion bowed his head, in a slight apologetic way. Apologizing for the loudness of his daughter.

Niji had pinned his ears back as he lowered his head toward the water, snorting through his nose softly to clear the mist he then started to drink, though his dark colored eyes watched for any danger. If had someone else with him he would not need to be so alert, but pretty much growing up alone he learned that there was in fact dangers that while unheard of while he was with family, lurked in the shadows to pounce on even an adult Kirin for a snack. It truly was beautiful this morning, everything was quiet and at peace, but that thought was broken like a raindrop on a leaf when he heard the high voice of a foal and an obviously tired a strained voice of an older male. Standing up right he watched the filly with interest as she seemed to skip every which way.
How could she be so full of energy this early, most her age slept till the sun was high into the sky, unless they were woken to move. His ears flew back as she bounced up and down, but he turned to the male as he spoke and noted the bow, returning it himself though deeper as he became aware that he might have gotten lost into territory he had not seen before. The male though strange, looked a bit familiar and he was busily trying to place him when he turned back toward the filly that was excited and happy to be about even as the sun was only just truly starting to light the lands. Rainbow socks around her hooves quiet like his own, and those scales on her back. Remembering back he recalled briefly seeing his mother and her mentioning he was an uncle, was this one of his siblings then?
Curios he stepped forward and very carefully smelled the little female, nudging her gently as he did. Shaking his head he backed up and a single hoof pawed at the ground in an agitated manner however he remained relax looking and simply stared at the little female. She smelled familiar but not, was she from his sister Ashia, he could not quiet recall their smells, even when he was with them he kept his distance, not even noticing his sisters large attachment to a colt though he had seen him. Turning dark eyes to the male he looked him over in a lazy sort of way, those butterfly wings and the flame mane and tail, then this was that colt after all, he had not expected his brother would have allowed this, though perhaps he had not had a chance to deny them mating and getting eggs from it. “May I ask your name; I must admit I have forgotten all names but my mothers and fathers, I knew not even my siblings name since I came back.” His voice was soft and unhurried as was his whole manner.
“You must be the one who mated with my sister, I only have one and my mother said I was an uncle; so this filly with her rainbow colors and those butterfly markings; could only be from that.” He smiled softly and kindly, really it was a surprise to find them so quickly, unless of course he did get it wrong.

Opaline watched the older male with curious eyes when he nudged her she nipped at his fur trying to get the older male to play with her. Giggling she toppled over staring up at him. "Play?" She asked hopefully. Wystan watch the two carefully, his ears flicking to their surroundings "Wystan," He replied a small smile coming to his face, "And this is Opaline. I'm to assume you are one of Ashia's many brothers." Opaline continued to stare up at the male. Her ears perked up at the name of her mother. "Brother of Mother?" She questioned trying to comprehend what that meant. He little nuzzled Opaline, helping her back to her feet. "It means he is your Uncle." He told her softly.

Niji was a little taken aback when his fur was nipped, ears going back he looked down at the little filly until she asked for him to play. Even as a foal he hadn’t played, but he felt his resolve crumble while he looked at him, too cute. He turned back toward the little girl’s father and gave a small nod, any emotion that had been on his face for Opaline was gone when he looked back to Wystan. “Yes, I haven’t seen any of them for a long time however.” Uncle, was he that old already, he wondered as he looked to the two and watched as the filly was helped up. "So why are you two up so early, I doubt anyone else is up at this time; but then I had doubted anyone in this part was up save me and the birds.” He asked it kindly but his eyes turned back to Opal, gently but a bit firmly he pushed her side with his nose before he nipped at her mane and gave it a small tug.
“I guess I owe congratulations to you as much as my sister Wystan, three fillies was it?” He was not sure; he had forgotten the number as he forgot most anything told him in short passing. Though he smiled softly when he was messing with Opal, should he turn to look at her father his face quickly became calm and blank. His ears suddenly perked and his head shot up, he heard something, he knew he had however a large bird called into the air and so he brushed it off as him hearing that.

Wystan gave a small gentle smile to Niji, "Thank you, Yes, Three Daughters, Opaline, Aubril, and Itzel. You should stop by and meet the other two, as well as visit Ashia." Wystan's head then turned to Opaline. "The little one said she was thirsty, yet it seems now she has other plans on her mind."
Opaline walked to the edge of the lake putting her hooves at the edge of the water. She splashed a few times before taking a small drink. Lifting her head she grinned up at Niji and then darted to his side bouncing on her hooves. "Uncle Lets play! Please?" She said excitedly. She was going to use him as an excuse not to go back to sleep.

Unlike Opaline, Aubril was not an early riser. If she could she would sleep until the sun was high in the sky and be one of the last to wake up. But today was a little different. It all started with a dream, which had grown and grown in intensity until Aubril awoke with a gasp, eyes flicking around fearfully until she realized that it had been a nightmare and nothing more. Too shaken up by it to fall back asleep, Aubril got to her hoofs and stretched, looking around at the early morning.
Where was Opaline? She had fallen asleep not far from her sister, but now she was nowhere to be seen. She searched the grass around her to no avail. Then she realized that her father was missing too. Worriedly Aubril paced until she came across the fur tailed lizard Bernard, who seemed to be fast asleep. Uncertainly she nudged the creature, hoping that nothing bad had happened during the night.

When the lizard was nudged by the small muzzle of the foal. Bernard's eyes opened waking, raising his head he stretched himself. He glanced up at who had woken him. Aubril? Why was she up now? The little lizard then glanced around. Wystan? Opaline? Where did they go as well? Bernard shook his head and then tilted his head up at Aubril wondering why she had woken him.

"Bernard, where's daddy?" Aubril practically squeaked with the worry in her voice. The way he looked around told the foal that he didn't know either. Well it looked like they'd have to look for them. She took in a deep breath. It wouldn't do her any good if she panicked and got herself lost too...
"Help me find them okay?" Aubril stood up as tall as she could and listened, long ears flicking this way and that. Nope, no sound here. She began to trot away, still looking around. "C'mon!"

He continued to tilt his head at her and then with a light nod of the head he scurried off after her. Where had his friend gone? Getting into trouble again? He stopped stretching himself on his hind legs trying to get a better look at the surroundings. Where would they go this early in the morning? Bernard then caught up to Aubril and pulled on her tail lightly, trying to tell her to follow him. First thing is first they would look in all the places that they could be. The flower fields, the stream, the lake, if they couldn't find them there then they would head out and continue to search for the two.

Aubril felt a slight tug at her tail and she looked down at him. "You've got an idea?" Eagerly she turned to follow him instead, ears perked and eyes open for any sign of them. The lizard probably had a better idea of where they might be than she did. He'd been with her daddy even before she was born, after all. She bounded about a little with a giggle, sleepiness replaced with an energy only foals had.

The little lizard clicked its tongue against the top of its mouth, they arrived at the small flower fields. Yet not Wystan or Opaline so the little lizard darted once again into the brush of the forest, heading to the next spot in mind. The stream. Yet still they weren't any where to be seen. He placed his claws into the stream and then took a small drink from it, waiting for Aubril to catch up and if she wanted a drink she too could take one.

First stop was a flowery field. If they hadn't been on a mission Aubril would have stopped to play among the petals. Still, she insisted on stopping to nibble a few flowers until she realized Bernard was already darting away. Giggling she plucked a bouquet-worth of wildflowers and dashed off after him.
Next they stopped at the stream. Placing her flowers down on the bank she bounded to the water and splashed her front hooves into it. With wonder she listened to the stream bubble, watching it flow around her hooves. Were there any fish about? She lowered her head to take a drink, keeping a bright eye on Bernard in case he darted away suddenly.

Bernard waited a bit letting her take a drink. Then suddenly with a click of his tongue as a warning, he was off once again. Darting into the underbrush of the forest. This time they were heading to the very lake in which Opaline and Wystan were at, and to Bernard's surprise they were not alone.

Aubril looked up as soon as Bernard clicked his tongue and ran off again. She started after him but then paused to snatch up her bouquet. The she was really off, following his path more or less. With a moment of hesitation over going into the underbrush she followed him through. Only when the lake was starting to be in view that she realized where they were going. Her face lit up as soon as she spotted her father and sister.
If there hadn't been a stranger there she would have run right for them. Instead she slowed down and walked politely the rest of the way, proudly offering her bouquet to them. She didn't want to look silly in front of a stranger.
