 Lulu was being sheltered by her mothers. Both her and her brother were closely watched by Moray and Nadra. Ever since they had been born, the males had taken over and killed their queen. Needless to say, her mothers were afraid for their cubs lives. Lulu, on the other hand-didn't give a rats buttocks. She was busy, trying to get away from her Mommies and brother. Shai was well, shy and quiet-so Lulu got the loud and obnoxious part of their mothers personality.
Mommy Moray was supposed to be watching her while her Mommy and Brother slept, but Moray was also so tired and fell quickly asleep-allowing Lulu time to wander off. She was walking, her paws stepping high as a small humming sound came from her throat.
"Lulu so smart!" She said simply, her tail wagging.

 Again. She was under the paw of brutes AGAIN. And this time...this time, she didn't have gentle Hisoka by her side. She only had her pride-sisters and her cubs and the cubs left motherless...Kannon sat at the entrance to her den, head hung and shoulders slumped. Kiuma was gone. And Hippy too. Yuuko and Akemi were, thankfully, asleep. And she was about to join them when a flash of white and black caught her eye. What the...oh!
One of the newest cubs, still so small...Lulu! Kannon trotted out of her own den to meet the little one. "Lulu, child...what are you doing away from your mothers?" Her voice was hushed, but not too much. The cub needed to hear her, and too hushed would certainly draw attention Kannon wanted to avoid.

Lulu in her mind wasn't afraid of the big bad males. She didn't fully understand the severity of it. Her mothers fear only seemed mutual to her. She wanted to play outside and away from her boring brother-whom her mothers hadn't the heart to take to the other pride. They were afraid to even try. He would stay until he could safely leave like he would have had to if their queen was still alive.
Lulu stopped upon hearing her name. Her little tiny head cocked and she turned to see the pretty lioness with pretty jewelry on. She loved shiney things. Oh how they mesmerized her. She squeeked with glee, waddling over to Kannon with a huge baby grin. "Walkin!" She said simply, her big proud pudgy cheeks smiling.
"Lulu is gonna find Mommies snacks!" She said with relish, her little black rump wagging. "Mommy Nad'a always hungry! Mommy 'ray fell asleepin!" She said, not very good at saying her mothers names. If only Moray and Nadra were to catch her-boy would she get a scolding.

Kannon gave the girl a sad smile. It was the best she could do nowadays. "Lulu...you have to be careful. The males that came in aren't so nice. Here...let's find snacks together." Surely there was a mouse-hole they could find without worrying about the invaders taking the little morsels. How Kannon had hoped she'd never have to think like that again. But she was...
She started towards the forested area, careful to keep an ear, eye, and nose out for the males. Lulu was such an innocent girl...she wouldn't know she'd done something 'wrong' until she got hurt. And Kannon was determined to see none of the cubs hurt.

Lulu was quick to keep to Kannons side. She sidled right under the lioness, her size so small in comparison. She was excited and couldn't keep her little mews of happiness from spewing forth from her white muzzle. She loved to help her Mothers, especially since they were sad all the time now. So far she only knew her parents as sad. Something about all the big boys walking around now. One had walked past her little family and everyone sat together and trembled. The cubs had to stay hidden for just a little while.
"Mommies is to scared to find nummies!" She said, looking up and flicking her black speckled ear. "Lulu not scared of big meanies. Shai brobber not meany!" She was truthful. Her brother was far far far from the cruel males that wandered their lands now. "Mommies so tired cause they sits all day and watch... so Lulu find them some nummies wif... wif.." She stopped walking and looked up at kannon, expectantly.

"Kannon, sweetling." She kept her smile for little Lulu. "Your brother is a good male." Any male raised by their pride would be, until let into the world. The fewer males like the invaders, the better. "But the big ones...they're not."
Kannon hoped, fervently hoped, that by the time this was all over...the ones like Lulu wouldn't loose their innocence. She had a feeling that wouldn't be the case though. "Your mommies help me make sure all the little ones are safe and sound. Little ones like you and your brother, and my two daughters, and little Calypso."

Lulu giggled and nodded. Her brother was her shining light. They were born together and were lucky to have the chance to stay together for a while. All cause of these sad happenings. She looked up to the lioness and wiggled her hips. "My Brobber Shai is very good. Big boys aren't. Thats what Mommy sez." She said matter of factly.
She got excited when Kannon spoke of other cubs. Lulu had yet to see babies her age, just grown up's. Her mothers were doing good at hiding them. "You have babies too? And who's-who's ca-ca-cawipso?" She asked, looking up with those darling pink eyes of her mothers.

Kannon nodded. "Very good, Lulu. Big boys are bad. Your brother is good." As she talked, she kept an eye out for tiny movements...Even after being away from him for so long, the dark lioness had never really forgotten how to do the things that had helped Hisoka survive. Then again, she couldn't afford to forget them now.
"I do indeed have babies. I have two girls here, Akemi and Yuuko. They're both good girls, though a litle inclined to causing trouble. And...Calypso is a dark little cub with spots you see wandering about." Hippy's daughter. But Kannon didn't dare say as such. But the little Heir worried Kannon, coming to others only when she needed them...A flash of movement that accompanied a small body diving into the dirt caught Kannon's attention and she motioned to be quiet to Lulu.
"Found a mouse-hole." She stalked towards it as if it was some great hunt. For Lulu, it likely was.

Lulu listened to the lioness and lifted her chin to gaze at her with interest. She was sort of excited to hear that there were others to play with that weren't her sissy brother. Her mothers had told her than when he was old enough and if these males ever left, Shai would go to live somewhere else... it sort of made her sad but.. it was a way of life. She lifted her ears, looking over in the direction that Kannon indicated.
"A mousey?" She said quietly, standing up on pudgy paws and padding after her.

Kannon nodded. "Yes...a mousey." She smiled and hunkered down further as she reached the mouse hole. "Now watch closely, little Lulu." She waited silently, tail switching back and forth behind her. And after a few minutes, a mouse poked its head out, only to have Kannon's waiting paw swipe it out of the hole, then pin it beneath its weight. The whole set of motions snapped its neck.
"And that, little dear, is how to kill a mousey in its own hole."

Lulu waited eagerly to see how it was done. She wiggled back and forth, her paws dancing as her tongue stuck out slightly in her glee. She was rather enjoying this lesson. She looked up at Kannon and then back down to the hole, back up, down, up down-anxious to see and learn. She just about jumped out of her skin when the mouse made an apperance and Kannon ended its life swiftly.
"Wow!" She squealed, "Dat was amazerling!

Kannon chuckled. "I suppose it was." She'd thought it amazing the first time she'd managed to do it. And Hisoka had found it amazing when she showed him the trick. "And now..." She nosed the mouse to Lulu. "The mousey is yours, for your Mommies. Let's see if I can't snag another one, so you have a mouse for each Mommy." She looked about for another mouse hole, and smiled when she saw what was probably another entrance for the one she'd just attacked. Good! It meant there was likely more than one mouse.

Lulu smiled widely and nodded, looking down at the mousy and giving it a few nibbles to make sure it was dead. She giggled, batting it lightly with her odd paws, a huge grin on her face. She was such a pleasant little thing. She chuckled, nodding again. "Mommies would like that!" She said simply, giving the mouse a good pat with her black paw and beaming up at the lioness.
"Someday I will hunt for my mommies... so they can see how big and strong I am... and then I'll beat up the bad males..." She swatted the mouse mightly with her pudgy paw.

Such pretty dreams the little one had. Kannon gave her a smile that hopefully had none of her sadness behind it. "Someday, little dear. Someday that may be possible." She snatched up another mouse for the cub, and put the once-living creature down in front of Lulu. "One day, we'll be free once again, and we'll be able to live in peace."
