Another spool of threads gone missing. Suffering a faint sigh, Kita gives up his search for the offending, blue this time, threads to grab a spool that had been dyed a deep grey. "This will have to do then. At least I didn't get started yet or I'd have to redo this seam." What was it, the third spool this week? Either he'd been very careless at putting things away, or Thell had taken a liking to the threads now over her favored shiny needles for a while.

As if knowing his thoughts aimed at her, a happy chirp reaches his ear from the green flit perched atop one stack of ready to use cloth. Managing to look as innocent as possible, for the moment, Thell fans out a wing to preen it just a bit.

"Of course, you didn't do it. Innocent until I find a stash of hidden spools tucked away with all my needles you keep taking." He can't help but grin though, Thell always was a mood lifter with her antics about the shop, as long as his master wasn't in to go about ranting on how she'd be the death of his business.

Alasia wasn't sure the name of the woman she'd been harassing helping just recently. In this place, it could have been anyone! The number of women who didn't act as though they wanted to be women was staggering! There were boots to patch, shoes to repair, but she found her frustration to be in a department of obvious design flaws rather than any error in the how and why of their make. How could they walk around wearing something so plain all day? Worse, ride a dragon wearing such atrocities? Had they no shame? No respect for the big ugly things?

That last one was in short supply when it came to Alasia herself, but that was why she'd never been on the sands trying to Impress, thank you very much. If someone was going to put that much effort in one of the beasts, you would think they'd want to look good doing it! That was all she'd been telling this rider, perfectly polite! The woman kept brushing her off, outright ignoring her. Why, it was so rude! The other lady--if you could even call her that--had told her to look for someone who cared. No one cared, Alasia claimed, because all the women preferred looking horrid! Of which her current converstional partner was a prime example, she added.

Finally, the poor rider had managed to shoo her away with the promise of a 'cute boy' in the tailor shop. Alasia had not expected a 'cute boy' was, you know, an actual boy. The disappointments just never ended today! The frown on her face was all too obvious upon entering the store, making the discovery.

Ah, well. He was cute for a kid in the way kids his age were cute. Maybe there was some attractive boss of his that would scurry in if she stuck around a little while.

Never one to be shy, far from one to be modest, she strolled right up to the lad and smiled sweetly at him. "Hello, I'm--" Only then did she take note of flit, and she had to admit, they were much cuter and more likable than the larger versions. "I'm Alasia. I'm the new cobbler."

Engrossed in threading his needle enough that he didn't hear the door opening, only a happy squeak of greeting from Thell gives Kita a warning before the voice chimed in so close by. Dropping the thread from his hand he quickly remembers his manners and looks up to greet the guest, customer, whatever she was to she shop.

"Welcome. I'm Kita, and this is Thell. How can I help you today?" Of course, once said he actually registers what Alasia had mentioned. "Cobbler? Oh, I hadn't heard a new one was coming into the Weyr! I'm sure you'll have a lot of business here with so many people about." With a smile, in almost relief he sets his needle down as well. The vest he was hemming could wait, after all. "If you're looking for my master though, he's gone to Ista Hold for more supplies. We've been running short on some of the threads that he prefers to use. But if I can be of any help, then I'd be glad to try."

Feeling left out of the conversation, the green flit gives another happy squeak and leaves her perch to fly around Alasia's head to get a better look at her. "Ah, don't mind her she's just excited when new people come in."

Alasia's intent was not to spend the day chattering with a kid, no matter how engaging he was. But, she had been raised right, and knew to mind her manners. Dismissing herself so soon would be rude, why, outright obnoxious. Besides, it was said good things come to those who wait. So, maybe...

"Alasia," she responded sweetly. The verbal introduction was in sync with a curtsy, the young woman tugging on the ends of her dress just enough to make the gesture as proper and polite as need be. The subject of business almost put a less-than-lovely look on her face, but she quickly dismissed negativity. "Business is going very well." Too well, if anything. So much work to do here. It was enough to make her miss the hold.

"I just thought I would come meet the cavalry, so to speak." Curiously, she gazed up at the creature fluttering around her. Unafraid, yet not feeling courageous enough to try and touch, she examined her only until her owner piped up. "It's alright. She's very cute. Can you tell me about who runs this place?"

The curtsy nearly throws him off, not really having anyone give a greeting in the shop quite like that. Kita just nods politely, and offers a smile.

"I'm sure business will be well for a while, it doesn't seem as if people are going anywhere any time soon really." And more seemed to just continue dropping in from Searches, or for the trades. Ah well, surely it would settle down eventually. Hopefully.

A quick glance back at Thell and sending the flit promises of a tasty treat if she stops circling has the green giving another very happy chirp and resuming her perch back on the comfortable pile of fabrics. "She might be cute, but she likes to take and hide things all over the shop. It makes it very.. interesting to keep up work." But, putting that aside Kita decides to answer her inquiry. "I'm not sure this shop could really be called the cavalry though, if anything the most we do recently is mending. But my master is a very proud man."

"You might be lucky really, to have come when he isn't in. He would peg you a customer and try to charm you into buying some of his more expensive seamwork and fabrics." A fond smile though, he really couldn't think badly of the man. It was good business, even if it was embarrassing to watch sometimes.
