Guardian Name: Rail Howell Gender: Male Appeared Age: Thirty-two Date of Birth:
Height: 6'2" Weight: N/A Hair: Rail's hair is jet black in color and short, kept cut close to his head and never getting longer than cheek length in any spot. No matter the length, however, his hair does have a wavy quality to it, though it is more apparent when it is longer. Eyes: Blue Skin: Tanned Build: Fairly muscular Markings: Faded cuts/scrapes on his hands, light freckling on his cheeks and nose Clothing: Commonly seen wearing gardening clothes (jeans and a plaid shirt that's rolled up at the elbows) with boots, though when working inside he'll don an apron as well and forgo the 'get dirty in' clothes for light slacks and a more professional button down shirt. Accessories: None
Personality: Raised between a farm and the Whi Forest since he was born, Rail is a well off apothecary living in an apartment just above his store in the less densely populated part of Aimes. Like his Dust, Rail is a sweetheart, sometimes biting off more than he can chew when it comes to making medicines for people. Despite that, he seems to always pull through at the end of the day, tired but happy he did some good in the world. He’s rather ‘back to basics’ in his medicine, meaning he believes that herbs, plants, fruits, and other such natural things have a higher and better power to help people than any newer sort of engineered medicine. He also has a hand for carpentry and whittling, spending slower afternoons making a small block of wood into just about anything that comes to mind. Habits: Biting off more than he can chew when it comes to work. Hobbies: Whittling and carpentry
Likes: Herbalism, woodworking, his job, Meryl, slow afternoons, gardening Dislikes: Being rushed, "new age" medicine, cauliflower, using plants not grown from his own area/inside of Aimes
Color: #2394d7

Healthy Happy Home Built on the near end of a dirt and cobblestone road, the Victorian style residence serves as both a home for the Dust and her guardian but also as Rail's apothecary. The outer appearance of the home is tidy, but the paint has long since chipped and washed away, leaving the dark, weathered color wood exposed covered on one side with climbing ivy. Hanging off the left side, just next to the porch, is a free swinging sign with the word 'Apothecary' carved into it. It's definitely old and whenever the wind pushes it, the hinges squeak.
Past the front doors and taking up the entire first floor of the home is Rail's apothecary. The entire area is cool, dry, and kept dark and there is always a lingering scent of herbs, dust, earth, and a musk like old books. Any natural light that comes in is from the large bay window to the front, the curtained windows on the front doors, and from the single paned window of the door at the way back. The bay window has a seat to it for waiting patients as well as a couple of older chairs nearby. Behind the wooden counter that separates the 'waiting room' from the rest of the home are several tall cases lined with pull-out boxes, books, and glass vials of all shapes, sizes, and colors. The cases, though close together, make aisles and are lit by kerosene lamps on metal stands. The far right wall looks completely solid, but when at the right angle one could be able to see a door there. It leads to Rail's work room, though it is rarely used for that purpose and has become more of a storage room coated with dust. The far left corner yields a stone fireplace which is also dusty and has its fair share of cobwebs as it is unused. Rail keeps spare jars, tomes, and other equipment on it, though there is enough room to sit should one dare.
Behind the cases and attached to the backwall is a staircase that leads up to the home portion of the house. Opening the door at the top leads a person into the kitchen; wood floors like the rest of the house and with all the necessary equipment though lit with kerosene rather than electric lights. To the left is the rest of the kitchen as well as the dining area, while the right opens up into a living area and a short hallway that leads to the bedrooms and the bathroom. Unlike the dusty and cool lower room, this second floor is warm and inviting though it is clear some parts are not used often. The windows up here are kept open as the weather allows to bring as much natural light and breezes in as possible. This part is also kept a bit cleaner, with no thick coatings of dust like the first floor. A small, sliding hatch on the hallway ceiling leads to the spacious and empty attic.
Since the windows are almost always open upstairs, anyone looking out would get a lovely view of the backyard. Rail keeps this yard even neater than the front as most of his herbs and fungi grow back here. The lawn is vast, and there's a small stable on the right that houses one horse though it has room for one more. Following the fence there are two gates in back; one that leads into the woods and Rail's "all natural greenhouse" and one that opens into a grazing pasture for the horse. There's also a tool shed-slash-tack house near the stable and two man-made greenhouses, for those plants that could be needed in a pinch but also need humid, swamp-like environments.
