Biography/History: Shiro, son of a samurai, was raised in the traditional samurai lifestyle. In the summer of 1880 he died during battle with the Japanese military. Shiro was one of the first to die in that war. Since then he has lived in soul society. Shortly after being brought to soul society he fell into the wrong crowd. One night Shiro and some members of a gang were ambushed by a rival gang. During the ensuing battle Shiro was stabbed in the back and left for dead, while his supposed friends ran for their lives. A responding group of Shinigami stumbled upon him as he lay there dying. Only knowing that it was a captain that saved his life by the white haori that he wore. His ultimate goal since being saved was to become a member of the Gotei and repay the debt that he felt he owed for his life being saved.
