Hey, I just had a weird thought:
Every religion in the world requires to you follow it's respective god, or you go to hell.
Therefore, because no one believes in every religion (even if you did, you still go to hell for following the other god), it's safe to assume that everyone goes to hell?
...Right?
And wouldn't that also mean that hell's population would increase exponentially, and therefore be endothermic?
And me being an atheist, well yeah.
Maybe I shouldn't have eaten that brownie...

Chang524 ... I'm gonna have to confiscate those brownies... Can I have one? I mean, to go in this very philosophical discussion, we should all be at the same... state of mind.

Well, seeing as I am my father's child, I already knew I was going to hell. (I'm a atheist anyway, so that would send me to hell anyway.)

I believe that believing in one god kinda fills the purpose of all, so you end up in the respective heaven. It's not like Valkyrs would ride and take you to Valhalla when you yourself believe to end up to Christian Heaven. ;D

Maybe I shouldn't have eaten that brownie... It is true that according to some religions, if you don't follow that religion specifically, you will be punished forever. Many religions, however, do not believe in eternal punishment, nor in punishment for following the "wrong" religion. According to some, you'll be reincarnated. According to others, you'll just be dead, or in a shadowy netherworld.

Well, here's the thing: we DO follow the same God, it's just that we worship him in different ways. The Christians and Muslims follow the same God as the Hebrews did LONG ago, we just have different beliefs about what He wants us to do.

I sure hope that you're statement of 'we' only included those two.
Because there is Buddhism, which is based on the belief of a man, though not like Christ, and then there were/are the Greeks and Romans, and of course, the Chinese also believed in many different gods, such as the Monkey god, respectively.
Anyway, I just thought we all went to hell, if it even exists.

Shall I teach about what purgatory is then? Because I'm going to say this now, the Jewish/Muslim/Christian God that the majority of the world believes in now has made things unclear for us about what's SUPPOSED to exist and what DOES exist.

Huh? No purgatory is in between Heaven and Hell. I like to think that I'm already in Purgatory because both good and bad s**t happens, therefore you're in between. Well actually, I'm quite happy right now, so I think I'm in heaven... It's really just subjective.
And what you said makes sense.
Anyway, we should end this discussion... I have a dark feeling that some huge argument is going to break out.
