 It was late in the evening as King walked through the dense forests. He was interested in the aesthetics and architecture of the fabled Temple and wanted to see it for himself.
He looked aimlessly around, not entirely sure what direction to take to find the visual wonder. King preferred to travel at night because it was cooler, and quieter. It left more space and open air for him to breathe and think.

A bit sleepy, Sazanami lay beneath a large tree with her rabbit familiar curled up at her side and already in a deep slumber. The pair had spent the day exploring, and once Inaba was all tuckered out they had decided to take a break.
With a small yawn, Saza rest her head on her forelegs and shut her eyes; her ears were still alert of course, and flickered softly at the sounds of birds chirping and small animals scampering around the area.

Through the bushes, King could see a strange blueish color. He knew this couldn't be vegetation, so he wandered forward. He was careful because he thought that his path could easily lead to a cliff and the blue was the palace roof in the distance.
Suddenly, as he neared the blue thing, King found himself face to face with another kuniku. It appeared that the other kuniku was asleep, so King decided to sit just a little bit away and wait for it to awaken. He was not one to wake someone up unless it was an emergency. For the time being, he napped lightly with his eyes open.

Saza's ears twitched at the sound of soft footsteps approached, yet her eyes remained closed for the moment. She could tell it wasn't a demon by two things: 1) The unexpected visitor had been quiet when entering the area- demons almost always seemed to charge forward and make as much noise as possible whenever they traveled. 2)The visitor didn't smell unpleasant- one way she could identify a demon that wasn't in sight was by a very putrid odor that most seemed to have
After a minute longer of dozing, Saza peeked an eye open to spot a male kuniku-- who seemed to be staring at her.

King noticed that the other kuniku opened one eye and looked at him. He thought he must have disturbed the sleeping one, so he nodded and said, "Sorry if i have woken you up. Sleep, and i will wait until you are refreshed and decide to wake."
King held her gaze for a moment longer before realizing how rude it was to stare. He blinked once and then lowered his eyes to watch what was happening in a small tuft of grass in front of him.

Saza lifted her head, now watching King with a bit of curiousity. "There's no need for an apology. I'm alright; Inaba is the one who really needed to rest." She pointed with her muzzle to the rabbit that was still asleep at her side as she spoke his name.
"If you don't mind my asking... What are you doing in a place like this?" Saza meant no harm with the question. It just so happened that the part of the island she had decided to rest in was by no means impressive; the flora and fauna were not the most colorful in Honshu, or anything spectacular.

"I actually travel all over the world. I don't really like to stay in one place for too long. I came to Honshu relatively recently wanting to see the palace of the gods. I've heard wonderful things about its aesthetics," King replied, almost lulling himself into a daydream about the beautiful place.
"And if I may have the pleasure, what is your name? And what has brought you to such a place as well?" King was deeply curious of this other kuniku and he could not bring himself to understand why. It wasn't anything he had come across in his travels before, and so he dealt with himself carefully.

Saza introduced herself with a slight bow of her head. "My name is Sazanami."
"A little more than a year ago, a storm took place here on Honshu. I was very young at the time, and I was left with a fear of this island... Now that I've matured, I want to get over that fear, so I've come back to Honshu to reconsider my opinion of it." Saza honestly stated her purpose of being on the island, even thought she thought the idea of being afraid of coming to a place was a bit silly.

King was taken slightly aback. He had not heard of a storm until now. He admired Sazanami for facing her fears.
"That is a beautiful name you have. It is very brave of you to come back here after what sounds like a traumatic event in your life." He sat back and quietly thought to himself about how terrible the storm must have been to frighten the kuniku from the island. He decided that it must have been one of the worst in history.
"Ah, I'm sorry, i have been rude. My name is King," with the introduction, he stepped one foot forward, leaning and bowing forward a little bit.

"Ah, thank you, King..." Saza accepted the compliment, although she was a little surprised; no one had ever said anything like that to her before. She quickly snapped out of her little moment and continued the conversation.
"It took a lot of encouragement from a fisherman, but I was finally able to make the journey after such a long time. I haven't been here all that long though, and it seems I've forgotten where exactly I was during the storm..."

"Well, since neither of us has much of a clue where we're going or where we are, would you like to join me and we can travel together?" King extended the invitation. It was quite possibly the most selfless thing he'd ever done, as bad as that sounds. King didn't understand what he was doing. Normally he would not extend such an offer to a complete stranger, but something in him compelled him to be near this other kuniku.

Saza was quiet for a moment, mulling over the thought of a travel companion. 'He's right, I don't have any idea where I'm going on the island... And besides, there's strength in numbers so should anything go wrong, we can help each other.' Saza's eyes wandered to King as she thought, he facial expression unreadable. 'He doesn't seem like a bad guy; charming is the word I'm thinking of.' Saza's tail swished softly as she looked King right in the eyes. "That sounds like a good idea. It'll be nice to travel with someone again."

King surprised himself with the little leap he felt inside his chest at Saza's agreement to travel together. He still hadn't quite figured out what was going on with himself, but so far he thought he liked it. He let forth a little smile and tilted his head just a bit.
"Where would you like to go first? I came here originally to see the palace, but I can always put that off for a bit. Wherever you want to go, we can travel into to town first and try to get some amount of direction from the humans before we set off again." King offered up this idea, hoping that she wanted to go to the palace as well. Though he knew that he would be just as good going wherever she wanted to go.

Saza couldn't help but smile at the fact that King was giving her so much freedom in deciding where to go, and what to do. She was the kind of person who liked to have options, even though she was ready for just about anything. "Going to the palace sounds interesting. I've never been there before, and I've heard a little about it from the humans here. All I know is that the Emporer lives there, and apparently the first Kuniku as well. So then, scouting for information should be useful on how to get to the palace."

King was elated that she wanted to go to the palace too. He heard that it was one of the most beautiful sights in the world, and if they were lucky they might get to see the emperor or one of the first kuniku.
"Well, there's no time like the present! I guess we better get started on our adventure," King said with a smile as he looked back at Saza, already facing in the direction he had originally come from. He knew there was town in that direction that they could consult with humans on the location of the palace.
