Okay so, I'm a normal girl with ok grades and I wear whatever will look good on me. More likely though if they look nice and classy. I'm trying to set up a quota for Sophomore year on my outfits, punchline being "All the class without the a**" See, I REALLY like the Gossip Girl outfits, I just hate their attitudes.

Now then, since 7th grade (and my mother knows this) I've been friends to the Gothic group.
And they weren't even that extreme in attire.
She's even met some of them.

Now in high school, people have more taste in what they wear and tend to be more extreme in showing what social group they belong into.
So I hung out at the Pier with four of my gothic friends, and these friends are really EXTREME in attire.

My mother, of course, dislikes me being with them and wants me (though she'll never tell me) to have new friends.
I'm having a little help from her clients and close friends, Craig and Randy (a really funny and social gay couple), with telling her their not that bad.

Otherwise then that, she's as straight as a ramrod in disliking my friends.
She says she's afraid of me "Changing overnight" and being disobedient like every other teenager (even though we both know that the worst I'll get is being a stubborn and a few VERY MINIMAL half a** comments, but that's only in extreme cases for the comments)

So then, what can I do to have her accept who I am and trust that I make good friends?

Hmm...that's always a tough one. Would it be possible to have them over at your house one day? For dinner or maybe a bonfire or something? That way she could see how they all really are for herself. That clothes are just that...clothes and nothing more. They don't make the person wearing them. It's the other way around. Two people could wear the exact same outfit and it would look completely different to those around them based on how they carry themselves and their overall attitude.

Sadly not many bonfires here to go to. More like a Michigan thing that always goes on all summer. You ever been to one? They are the best! 4laugh

Nope never been to one. I went over to a friends house one time and we tried to cook marshmallows over the stove. Needless to say, when it caught on fire it scared the poop out of me.

What'd you use to hold the marshmallow? We used short forks DX

Well, traditionally, people use sticks. Or some sort of really long two pronged fork. I have been to a few bonfires with friends only. But, not in a long time. A long long time. lol

Lol xD
Uhm, don't you need some license to start a bonfire though 0_0 <-- no idea where that came from...

Some places require a fire permit. It all depends on the area though.

Oh okay, I'm definitely gonna have a bonfire one day when I grow up xD
I love that phrase, when I grow up. It's like something you say when you're 8.
