It had been a few weeks since Koko had become a teenager, and her newly found human limbs had done nothing to make her more sensible. She was just as romantic and daydreamy as ever, and the worst part was she could now act the part as well.
"Anyway," she said to her mother, sitting on the edge of the counter and shaking out a scrap of napkin elegantly before she ate, "I can't have a Prince Charming, I'm afraid that's simply wrong."
Lena, who had let go of her qualms about morals about a week ago and was now openly interrogating her strange, tiny daughter for ideas for her next poorly written romance novel nodded, popping a piece of sushi into her mouth. "Why's that, then?" she asked curiously. "Don't you want a handsome prince? I've heard they're pretty dashing. Good for adventures and saving people, right? Isn't that what you want?"
Koko sighed, shaking her head at her mother's naivete. How could this woman have written so many excellent, meaningful stories and not know the rules of the game? Luck? "No, Mother," she said, primly taking a bite of a grain of rice bigger than her hands, "It's because I'm not a princess! Were I a princess, of course a prince would be acceptable. But I am of lower rank, you see, so were I to have a dashing hero at all, he would have to be a commoner, or at most a noble who had lost his title in some tragic Circumstance of Fate." She dabbed at her mouth with a napkin. "Everyone has a role to play, Mother."
Lena snorted. Her daughter, she thought, played the role of charming lunatic quite well.

Omu and Hatsu were walking into the shop. Hatsu was wondering what to do with Omu? She was so hyper, and if you give her sugar she goes crazy. Hatsu had to hide all her sweets so Omu wouldn't eat them. She didn't want to have her kitchen destroy again. She sighs and walks behind Omu. Omu runs into the shop. "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii everyone." she screams. Hatsu had to cover her ears so she wouldn't go deaf. "Omu please don't yell." she said to Omu. Omu blushed at her mommy. "Sorry mommy." Omu sees two people at the counter. She runs over near them. "Hello my name is Omu." she said to the two women.

Koko and Lena turned around as the scream rang through the restaurant, blinking in unison. "And what role does she play?" Lena asked curiously. Koko bit her lip, thinking for a moment. "The energetic acquaintance." she decided, waving to the other pair. "Every heroine needs a quirky friend."
As the other gogo came over, Koko got up, dropping the younger gogo a curtsy. "Pleased to meet you, Miss Omu!" she trilled. "My name is Takoyaki Powell, but you may call me Koko if you wish." She turned to Lena, "And this is my mother, Miss Lena Powell." Lena nodded to Omu and turned to the woman she assumed had also gone to get food and suddenly ended up with a child. "Your daughter?" she asked, extending a hand to her. "I'm Lena, nice to meet you."

Omu saw Koko curtsy she blinked at Koko. But then she smiled. "Hello I am Omu Tanahashi, and this is my mommy Hatsu Tanahashi." pointing to her mother. Hatsu shaked Lena's hand. "Yes this is my daughter her name is Omuraisu. But she likes to be called Omu." she blushed then said. "Oh I am sorry I am Hatsu Tanahashi liked Omu said." Omu looked at Koko. "Would you like to be my friend?" she asked Koko.

Koko smiled delightedly. An adorable companion! "Why yes, I would be delighted to be your friend, Miss Omu, and it is a pleasure to meet you and Miss Tanahashi senior." the somewhat odd gogo informed Omu delightedly. "We can be ladylike friends and have tea together and chat about Peril and heroes and..." Nattering on about all the wonderful, proper ways two young ladies could occupy their time, Koko continued while Lena quickly tuned her out, turning to Hatsu. "They're sort of a handful, huh?" she said wryly. Judging from Omuraisu's scream when she came in, she was just as odd as Takoyaki. "You get used to it though. It's easier when they become human and not so edible, especially if you live around animals." She shuddered as she remembered what she would only refer to as the Cat Incident and what Koko referred to as The Hideous Evil Tabby Monster That Nearly Ate Me. No more pets in the Powell household! "How long have you had Omu?" she asked, vaguely curious about anything to do with the strange little food people.
