First of all, Everyone finds their deities when they are "ready". Don't be in a rush to find them. They will come to you when they think its time. That goes the same with the spirit guides. The grounding could be due to you not being to relax, or it could be that your scared of what you may encounter, when you open yourself up to the unknown. Just learn to relax first. I do have some exercies that just have you relax.
The lack of experinces, could be due to lack of time also. You haven't had time for yourself. You always are doing stuff for your sister or parents.
