the immortal words of Timothy Leary! Do they mean anything today? What remains of that 60's ethos? Or did Ken Casey and his Kool Aid Acid Test win the general public's hearts and minds?

it was a nice little mantra but ultimitly quite un-revolutionary...you arent goign to change the world for the better by completley droping out of society...thats just escapism...although droping out of school is seriously a good idea (stop the brainwashing asap)
"turning on" is awesome, of course by turning on leary meant tripping...quite an amazing experiance and it has alot of potential

Believing that by focusing inward one can travel outward, in a very Tao of Physics way, could account for the notion that "in order to change the world you have to change yourself." It's kind of the basis behind such seemingly dissimilar topics as chaos theory, Feng Shui, and neo-paganism. It's not as far fetched as one would think, and I wish there was a poll option capable of reflecting this sentiment.
Saying what he did, it is certain that Dr. Leary had firsthand experience with what he was talking about. Being a Harvard professor, one would think that he was capable of coming to grips intellectually with such a powerful item.

yes argus for me it is far more than tripping on lsd...although it comes from leary's book "the politics of ecstacy" and in cahoots with Huxley's "perceptions of heaven and hell"...both written on the topic of lsd... there r many varied ways to promote mind-altering experiences not all involving drugs...go find a dervish and whirl for days..see what happens i am sure everyone will have their own slant on those words but for me....... turn on to the possibilities of life- tune into whats really going on inside and drop out of the rat race...get off the wheel this time round peace to u
