Korea is a great place to visit. It has its urban places and definitely alot of rural areas like farming towns and stuff. but thats down south. By far the biggest and the most bustling city is Seoul. You can expect to see a lot of highrise apartment buildings and alot of business signs sticking out of buildings. There's a lot of green spread out in random patches across the city but for the most part, Seoul is an industrialized city and all you'll probably see the most during the day is alot of dull red, white, and grey. at night tho all the lights turn on and if you're in the right places, it's absolutely breathe taking. It does have its run down districts where the roads are all tattered up and some gangster like people but thats in any country, like the red light districts of tokyo where yakuzas and prostitution run wild. but overall, korea's a wonderful place to visit because it has a lot of culture. Old and recent. Old being the ancient buildings of past joseon dynasties and backward. New being the hallyu wave of korean entertainment from movies, dramas, to music.

Trust me it wont be a waste of time~

Little kids can get lost, but its not that bad. Busy streets are usually where all the stores are located. But still, streets are more crowded than US smile

I recommend an amusement park called LotteWorld in Seoul biggrin
It doesn't have freakishly fast/high/steep roller coasters, but it's a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy heart if you are certain that you are going, i'll tell you an awesome ramen place. Never go to restaurants on the map!! Asking a stranger is so much better. Mmm~ I wanna go back to Korea crying

Right after I graduated 5th grade, my 어마 took my brother and I to Korea. We stayed with friends and relatives.
Korea is a very nice place, if you don't mind crowded areas most of the time. Usually the best place to stay is in the city, because of convenience. You don't even need a car most of the time! You can usually take public transportation, it's EVERYWHERE. There are so many things to do also. You can go shopping, go to a restaurant, or go visit some museums or palaces.
The country is nice too, but it can get rather lonely. Especially when you're in a run-down bus traveling past endless rice fields with nothing but the occasional elementary school.
In Korea during the summer, the weather is really hot and it can rain for days. In the winter, however, it's really cold. Spring's ok and Fall's the best time to go, according to my parents.
Also, going to Korea is a great way to add to your knowledge of Korean so I highly recommend it. 3nodding

This thread is very informing.

After I greaduate, I want to save up enough money to go to South Korea. I especially want to see JeJu Island~

I've been talking to my parents about this, and my mom does not want me to go. She's heard that there have been a lot of people simply disappearing over there, and she's very skeptical of N. Korea. So I would like to know if it's really all that bad, or what?
