I'm curious because I love those bands and want to learn more about them, I'm from Plymouth-Canton. Every year when we go to nationals I love to get to meet all of the bands at award announcements after finals. Maybe I'll get to meet more.
L.D Bell 2008 was the Quest I believe, We were Kaleidoscope (didn't really like that show) then we were Out of the Shadows '07, Caramel was some good night show. it had simple gifts in in. It was cute it made me want to nap a little.
What I really want to know though is how you guys go about practice I feel as if we used to practice too much and now we practice too little. I want to blab about leadership too because I'm a section leader and want help with making my section greater.

I just graduated from a band in the northwest circuits called Southridge. You're really lucky that you get to go to nats every year. My school hasn't gone once....we can't afford it even though we dominate our circuit.

We had a winter perc show called Kaleidoscope...based on the Bela Fleck piece.

But anyways, they tell us all the time how "world class"-like our band is:

We rehearse mon wed fri 4-7, (plus 1 hour long sectionals either before or after)
tues is guard 4-7 rehearsal (winds sectionals)
thurs is percussion 4-7 rehearsal (winds sectionals)
saturday is all 9-9
...plus an hour in class every day.
DM's at every rehearsal (guard's/percussion's too)

I know we aint LD Bell and whatnot, but hey, whats an girl gotta do to get her school's name out there with the big guys?

I'm also in the northwest circuit and one of the top in it. Actually Blckpanthr13 is in the band that took 1st on us this year but when we went down to California we competed against a band who took 5th in BOA and they only had a point above us at the competition in California. So I guess that is saying something.

But our practices are like this

3 Summer day Camps (9-4 Everyone)

Then 2 weeks before school starts we have the big Camp.

Week 1 (Mon-Sat - 9-9 Everyone)
Week 2 (Mon-Fri - 9-9 Everyone)

Then when school starts

Mon (6-9)
Wed (6-9)
Fri (Football Game performances every now and then)
Sat (9-9)

Then we have an hour in class, 1 hour Sectionals every week and Section Leaders and Captains do one on one time with every member in there section which can be any time in those 3 months.

Fun Fun.

gonk Wow, this thread is old.

If you're talking about the Plymouth I know, Mr. John King is your band director, right?

If he is, he used to be the director at my school when my older brother was in band, but sadly, I never had the awesome chance for him to be mine. But he comes back to my school about twice a year to run rehearsal. xD

I know all of the bands you're talking about, saw them all at BOA this past November.
We went, didn't make anything big, not even past preliminaries. Cary Senior High, by the way
In case anyone knows them >_____>
I'm doubting it

But I do know of the schools you're talking about!

Although, which Avon High do you mean? The one from Indiana or the one from Ohio, or wherever they're from?
