Al-Hattal stirred from his sleep just before sunset, taking a minute to stretch before emerging from the shade of a tree. He usually preferred to be awake and about at night, if he could help it. With his all-black coat, the daytime sun could get...uncomfortable. Avoiding it was often the best possiblity.

Now that he was awake, he stood and surveyed his surroundings. He didn't need to hunt yet, so he went back to doing one of the things he did best - wandering.

She was so tired of the grass. You couldn't talk to grass .. or you could but it didn't talk back. It was borring! She wanted someone, anyone, to talk to. She'd even settle for her brother if she actually managed to figure out where he'd run off to.

Sighing to herself she continued her wandering through the grass. "There has got to be -something- living around here...."

As a matter of fact, there was! And he was always willing to chat with a pretty female, be they lion or otherwise. So when something white caught his eye, he didn't hesitate to head in its direction. While he didn't usually like to greet someone by yelling at them, calling out was probably best in this isntance; he didn't want to come across as a threat, approaching her without saying anything at all.

"Good evening!" he called pleasantly.

Hearing a voice she smiled. "Oh thank god. Life." She looked up and spotted the black male heading her way. It wasn't often she was hailed by lions but she wasn't one to pass up any sort of opportunity. Someone to talk to was someone to talk to. Even more so when they were handsome males.

"Good Evening it is." Her tail ticked behind her as she watched him.

Wonderful! Things were always a little more uncertain when it came to encountering other species, as they'd be more likely to seem him as a threat than fellow lions. But this was clearly not the case here, which was quite the relief. Unfriendly meetings were anything but enjoyable, as far as he was concerned...even if some females found scars attractive, that was a kind of dashing he would rather not be.

Once within proper speaking distance, he dipped his head in greeting to the leopardess. He'd always been fond of their particular style of spots. "Good evening," he repeated in normal tones for the sake of politeness, "I am Al-Hattal."

"Al-Hatta hum?" She smiled as she shifted so she could sit, seeing no reason to stand around if they would be chatting. "I am Angaza, it's a pleasure to find someone out here other than crickets."

She had to at least say thanks for him showing up even if he hadn't known she was lonely

Once she had taken a seat, so did he, curving his tufted tail around himself. That was another fascinating thing about leopards: their fur was usually quite smooth. They had no tufts to their tails, and also lacked the small 'mane' that many lionesses had on top of their heads.

"Well, I do like to think that I'm better company," he said with a soft chuckle, "Although I don't sing very well. It's a pleasure to meet you, Angaza."

"They haven't exactaly been singing either. Just hopping about getting dirt on my fur." And being the sort of life form she didn't want to see anymore. "They make such terrible company when you're hoping for someone who actually speaks."

He was an interesting sight to say the least. She couldn't remember ever seeing a lion with a coat that exact color, and just that color. IT was like he'd rolled around in soot.

"No, that doesn't do at all," Al-Ha agreed. It was a bit of a shame when beautiful, pale fur like hers got dirty. It was sadly unavoidable, but no less of a shame. "I'm glad I was here to save you from their poor company, then."

"You have no idea how grateful i am for you saving me." She smiled, tail swishing slightly beside her. "The lack of company was becoming completely dreadful. I thought i would die of boredom if i didn't run into someone"

She really needed to find permanent company somehow. Or she needed to track down her brother and refuse to let him get away again

Al-Hattal smiled widely and charmingly, his own tail mirroring the swishing of hers. "I'm quite familiar with such despair," he replied, "So I suppose we're saving each other."

"Although, if I may ask, what has someone so lovely out here all by their lonesome?"
PostPosted: Sat Jul 11, 2009 8:17 pm

"Mm .. looking for company and my absent brother." She would get him back for leaving her all alone somehow. She just hadn't figured out how yet. "I'm afraid i seem to be going in all the wrong directions to find anyone to talk to." She sighed dramatically.

"it's horrible"

"Aah, I see." He didn't often think of his own siblings anymore, although he'd gotten along with them just fine. he'd just decided that there were better things waiting for him out here, far from home. it was one direction he never wandered in.

"I'm not much a travelling companion," he admitted, "But is there anything I can do for you for now?" It was a neutral suggestion she could take whichever way she liked.
PostPosted: Sat Jul 11, 2009 8:38 pm

"I haven't seen him in what seems like forever, he disappeared with some blue thing, but i'm determined to find him. Horrible of him to leave me all alone" She figured someone woudl have heard of him eventually. "You haven't seen him have you? He looks just like me except he's maroon instead of white."

That was something he could do for her, besides keep her company

Al-Hattal took a few moments to think before shaking his head. He almost never spent time with other males, aside from a chance encounter now and then. "I'm afraid not," he answered apologetically, "But I'll keep an eye out for him."
