 "Hurry up you two!" Nalani called over her shoulder, trotting happily beside the stream. Ever since her encounter with that strange stallion, the mare had felt the need to explore much more often. Today she had corralled her siblings into coming along, although how long that would last was uncertain. Her older sister never really had much patience for her endeavors. "You guys move so slow!"

 The sound of hooves thundered ahead, announcing Wyatt's arrival before he was actually seen. He bound through thebrush along stream before going into it, water splashing along his sides. "Hey, you need to stop and taste the roses sometimes." He said with a laugh when he had caught up. "They were pretty good."

 Rolling her eyes, Faolan plodded behind. Pausing, she checked her front hooves. Good, no chips yet. She ignored Wyatt's ceaseless coursing and Nalani's unyeilding enthusiasm, instead flicking her tail irritably. She cast her glowing gaze on her brother. "You're going to get thorns in your tongue again, and you know how Mom hates picking those out."
"Nalani, where're we going, anyway? My legs are getting tired," she whined plaintively. If it wasn't a field of clovers to sleep in softer than fledgeling down, well-... she would be highly pouty.

"There were roses?" Nalani replied in surprise, her eyes growing slightly wide. "Aw man... I didn't see those! Point them out next time, kay? It's no fair hogging all the good flowers to yourself."
As her sister came plodding up in the rear, the mare couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Don't know yet. That's the whole point of exploring, isn't it? Discover new places, see new thing, etc. Maybe we'll even meet some other Kirin along the way. ^^" It was truly difficult to believe that the two mares were even related. They were pretty much as different from each other as night and day.

"You were already running ahead. You wouldn't have heard me." He said playfully scolding. Then he lowered his voice. "Besides, someone has to hang back to make sure sister stays out of trouble." He looked back at his other sister, Faolan, and snorted. "I've gotten better at it. No more thorns for me!" He said with exagerrated pride.
"Faolan, you need to relax. Get yourself a boyfriend." He said, hiding the smirk that fought for space with the false frown on his muzzle.

 Cocoa was grazing a bit up stream from where Faolan, Wyatt, and Nalani were. She had found that the grass near the stream was the sweetest. Her ears flicked at she heard voices..three of them, her head lifted up curious on what all the ruckus was all about. She moved down stream a bit through the forest to see who was making all the racket. When the three Blue and brown Kirin came into her view she tilted her head to the side curious about them even more.
What were they doing way out here? Were they related? They looked like it because of the coloring and markings. Odd though, the strips upon their backs reminded her of her father, who was not her father, Brajan. Her tail flicked behind her. Could they be related to him, she hadn't seen the brown stallion since they split up after he taught her a few things about hiding and stuff. She watched them for a while wondering if she should go and introduce herself, but being the shy little mare she was she stayed at her place in the trees. Watching would be enough for her...at the moment.

Sniffing haughtily, Faolan turned her gaze from her siblings, as though something in their words offended her to the very core. With a dainty sigh, she turned her attention back to Wyatt and quipped, "I've tried. You know Daddy charges them the second they so much as show a little flank."
She closed the distance between herself and her siblings, unaware of the stranger watching them. Head held high, she huffed. She could be catching a few winks right now instead of traipsing about out here in the wilds with her siblings and bugs. Wait, bugs? Her eyes narrowed briefly before she let out a squeal of alarm. "Nalani! Your head!" A fat caterpillar hung from a thin strand of webbing just above the navy mare's ears.

"Huh?" Looking up to see what all the fuss was about, Nalani smiled happily at the sight of the fat bug. "Ah, caterpillar!" Without a word of warning, the navy mare chomped at the bug in the manner that one might pick a stray leaf from the tree, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. "Mmm, juicy. Alright, that makes up for the roses then."
Rather than bothering to wait for her sister's reaction, Nalani glanced about at their surroundings. When she caught sight of the brown mare not too far off from them, she smiled again and trotted off to meet her. "Hey there!" she greeted in her usual friendly manner. "I'm Nalani. What's your name?"
(I imagine Faolan being positively horrified, lmbo. XD)

Cocoa slunk herself behind a few trees as she saw as the other Kirin came her way. Had she been spotted already?...Guess it didn't matter now. She tilted her head towards the other mare. It took a few moments before she answered her. "Cocoa," her eyes then moved to the two other Kirin and then back to Nalani "Doing?" She questioned her.

Wyatt laughed. "Yeah, I know." Though he had only been half teasing before. He actually hoped both his sisters would find males for themselves soon. His head snapped around to look at Nalani when Faolan cried out. He stared at the bug before heaving a sigh. Now he'd have to listen to Faolan complain about seeing that...
Nalani provided a new distraction though when she brought their attentions to the new mare. He started to step forward slowly, not wanting to crowd the wary looking Cocoa.

Faolan's eyes widened in sheer horror as her sister took a chomp. "Nalani! Oh- oh, ew!" She paled beneath her fur. "That's just, ugh," she shuddered from her shoulders to the tip of her tail as she stared at her sister in slack-jawed wonder. She edged a little nearer to Wyatt.
Disgruntled, she turned her nose up as her sister moved on the newcomer. A distasteful flick of her tail at the question. "Well, she's eating gross things." Inclining her muzzle toward her sister, she snorted.

"Nice to meet you, Cocoa! My name is Nalani," the mare replied cheerfully. "And this is my brother and sister, Wyatt and Faolan." Speaking of Faolan, she cast said mare an odd glance at her comment. "Gross things? I don't recall any of that." It didn't occur to her that eating a caterpillar might fall under that category. Turning back to the new mare, she said, "We were just exploring the area. It's a nice day, so I thought it might be a good chance to get out. What about you?"

Cocoa tilted her head to the side, a bit confused on what Faolan meant. "Um..Cocoa doing?" She repeated the question in thought. Just exactly what was she doing. "Stream," She replied tilting her head in the direction where she had come. She then tilted her head towards them. "Watch," Her ears flicked, as she continued to think, but couldn't think of anything else that she had been doing.

Wyatt laughed softly. Yep, typical Faolan reaction, and typical Nalani responce to said reaction. At the least, watching the two females was interesting. "As long as she's not telling you to eat the bug, it shouldn't be a problem." He said soothingly.
His ears perked up suddenly. Cocoa? That sounded familiar. Had his parents said that name before? It must have been something long ago, and he couldn't remember, so he pushed the thought to the side. "Cocoa. It's nice to meet you." He called, bowing his head politely to the stranger.

Cocoa watched them for a while, still observing the markings on all three. Finally she spoke again, "All...Um.." She paused thinking a bit trying to remember how she was to put it into words. "Father not father remind me,"
