It had been ages since she had wandered around on her own. She was almost always with her slave and she was eager to breed her again. Her slave's last breeding had turned out magnificent. She had produced two colts. She had let Dahak find good masters for the two colts. She would have given one to Tahmores but she hadn't seen him in ages. Perhaps maybe she might go find him and have a little chat with him soon.
But for now, she drove the outsider out of her mind and tried to concentrate on what she was doing outside of her little home for. She tried to think of why she had wandered away from her grotto without her slave but couldn't think of it. Maybe she had decided to get a little fresh air and let her slave sleep in a little bit.
She gazed up at the sky and saw the sun creeping over the mountains. Soon, it would be morning and the rest of the herd would be awake and bustling around the place. Then it would get hot and she would have to retreat back into her grotto to cool off. But for now it was cool enough for her to wander around without the fear of getting too overheated. Hopefully this morning would turn out to be a better one than the previous past months' mornings had been.

 To the brindled buckskin days were getting longer, hotter, and more frustrating than they had to be. He didn't know why, but nearly every summer the prince found himself getting more fired up than usual. Sparring was always a great way to relieve that sort of energy, and it had been going well for most of the days he wasn't seen near the little watering hole he liked to frequent.
For now though, the jala stallion was headed away from the watering hole, after a refreshing drink, and was pondering over the likely hood of catching his mother when she wasn't busy. It had been awhile since they'd had a long conversation just for the sake of it, and the prince was keen to see her sometime soon. For what reason other than wanting to see her, he was unsure of. However, the odds were probably against him. Being herd leader took up quite a bit of her time, he had noticed, and getting lucky enough to catch her taking a break was quite nearly impossible. Then perhaps he should find Ra, his little brother always seemed willing enough to spar with him.
Pausing slightly in his step, strong neck held high on a slight arch, Ka tried to remember just where exactly Ra'cuv had said he'd be. The little cave he occupied? No. More than likely his brother was training with the soldier. Perfect. It would be nice to see just how much his brother had improved in fighting skill, and this little trip just might score him a spar with a willing soldier. His mind made up, Ka moved off in another direction, unaware it would lead him to a certain mare.

Hera stopped in her tracks, gazing around her. She felt as if someone was following her but when she looked around her surroundings she saw no one there. THat was rather odd. She shifted her wings so that they rested in a better position and started to walk on again. However, she stopped in her tracks again when she spotted a familiar Jala heading towards her. She tilted her head to one side and gazed at the Prince curiously. Was he on his way to see her or was he just passing on through to see one of his younger siblings? She sidestepped slightly so that he would have room to go by her in case he was just passing through the area and she bowed her head down in respect. "My leige," she said casually, letting her wings lower slightly.
Maybe this was what she was wandering around for: to have a chance to see the Prince again and have another chat with him. She found his presence to be rather calming. She would rather spend an entire afternoon with him than with the other mares in the herd.

So, this is what the day has been reduced to. Looking for his brother and possibly a fight, it wasn't much of a life, but it was a life that Ka had enjoyed thus far. Now though, he was feeling somewhat restless, the need to converse with queen Savit had taken his mind for several days, and here he was about to make a mockery of such thoughts. Pwah! Maybe he should head up the mountain to find his mother, the thought seriously tempting him. Just briefly he managed to take his eyes from the path to glance up the side of the mountain, and that's when he heard the semi-familar voice.
Calmly, as if he had known she were there all along, the prince returned his gaze to the path and recognised the mare that stood before him. "Hera", he returned the cool, casual greeting. While he had his delemna on what to do, he supposed it wouldn't hurt to speak with her. After all, if memory served him right, she was a nice conversation most of the time. His hoof falls came to a stop not far away from the dappled brindle mare with no tear markings, his mind made up for the time being. "How are you this day?" A suitable question, as he was sure 'would you like to join me for a spar' was out of the question for a mare.

Hera gazed up at the Prince and noticed that he didn't pass on by like she had expected him to do. Maybe he had decided to stick around and have a little chat with her before he moved onto where he was heading towards. She didn't want to take up too much of his time in case he had someplace important to be at. "Alright, my prince," she said, her voice the same calm tone. "Things have been rather quiet around here." She didn't want to tell him that she suspected something was up. Hera was sure that Ka wasn't interested in mare's gossip. He lived to fight and dethrone his sister from ruling the herd.
"May I ask how you are doing on this fine day?" she asked him, shifting her body slightly so that it was at an angle towards him.

The tall stallion gave a nod of his head; however, he still held it on a high, slight arch. "Indeed, it has been very quiet around her as of late." Which also might account for his frustration. There really wasn't much he could do besides sparring, and as much as he enjoyed that, you had know things were slow when the prince started to find the task mundane. Perhaps that's also one of the reasons he'd like to speak with his mother, to see just exactly what was going on in and around the herd. Perhaps even derive some sort of meaningful task for him to accomplish. That would certainly be ideal.
The prince's ears snapped to attention as he heard her ask him of his day, and he withheld a bitter chuckle. "Just begining, I have yet to accomplish today's goals." Thus far included checking in Ra'cuv's training, and then seeing if the queen was accepting visitors at the time. Perhaps even he'd make an attempt to better know some of his other siblings, but that had yet to be seen.

Hera smiled warmly at the prince. She was, though, surprised to hear that his day had just started. Hers had begun a few hours ago, though the main reason for that was because she had a slight bout of insomnia that night and could only get a few hours rest. She closed her eyes for a few moments but quickly opened them up, afraid that she might go to sleep while the prince was still in front of her.
"It is good to hear that you are occupying your time with goals, sire," she said to him in a sweet voice. "I am afraid that I might bore you with the tasks that I normally do every day so I shall save you the trouble and not say anything else." She blinked a few times and bowed her head down. She had just said something stupid in front of the prince. Gathering her courage, she shifted her wings so that they set higher on her back. "So, have you, er, seen your sister by any chance? I was hoping to have an audience with her in the near future."
