Ilori's wanderings had started to take on more defined routes lately. He spent time with this or that friend or family member. He'd found some spots he enjoyed going for alone time to contemplate on life and those in it. For the first time since being a cub, he felt like he was really settled into routines of sorts.
Today he'd come to visit on the other lunar lion he knew and spoke with. He'd avoided doing so for some weeks now, for as much as he'd fallen into some routines, there was still a restlessness about him. It only felt larger when he thought of visiting Alex Zander. For fear or confusion, it had warded him off. At least until the desire to hold onto a friendship won out.
Maybe. Probably. He had only once actually gone into her family's territory, and now wandered on the outskirts a bit, by the pond with the terrible No Moon Lion inside. He sat now, both smirking in amusement at that bit of silliness and procrastinating trying to sniff his friend out. It was a matter of..ah..politeness, afterall. He hadn't exactly been invited to come visit. Yes, politeness. Not procrastination.
Foof. He kicked some twigs into the water to watch the ripples.

Alex Zander had finally grown once more. Her body filled out, her hair long, her clothes had to be altered once more and she was out of the den a lot more. Of course she visited her mom, there would never be a time that she wouldn't visit her mother. However there was something different.
She hadn't seen Ilori in a while. And to tell the truth he missed him a lot. He wished that she could find him but it seemed that everywhere that she went she couldn't find him. Not matter what she did. She could not ifnd him. God she wished she could do. She shook the idea off then started to wander toward the water that she knew and visited offten. She wasn't really paying attention to what was around her. She was more interested into getting water at that moment. She leanred over and started to lap some of the water up. Purring quietly as she did. making sure that her hair wasn't going to fal into the water

He was being terribly observant at this moment in time. He watched the ripples, listening to the way the water lapped up for some time before blinking and realizing that there was some other contribution to the movement of the water and sounds of the evening. He looked up, sniffing the air, then backed up in surprise at the apparition that had appeared out of no where (like we said, he was being terribly observant). He stumbled on a stump behind him, but only for a milisecond before feline graces reigned in surprise to make him stand correctly again.
That couldn't be her? Alex Zander was a child? Perhaps an older sibling? Nonsense, she had only mentioned a brother. "Hello there!" His voice only shared a friendly greeting, and he began to wind his way toward the lioness, slowly enough. "It would seem the moon's come to our lands tonight." A comparison compliment from a lunar lion, one that made Ilori stop in place. Well, that was one way to comment on her not childlike appearance.

Alex Zander froze at the sound of another talking to her. She didn't expect to see or hear another around here. How did she just wander by them with out noticing and how was their voice so familiar but she didn't see them. But she wasn't sure if she wanted to look to see who it was. She didn't really know if it was smart to answer to some one she wasn't that sure of who it was. A few thoughts raced through her mind. The voice was just faintly familiar she just couldn't but a claw on it. She felt like she knew it but she wans't sure or if she did it was more of she hadn't seen them in a while.
Then the compliment came. Not many lions would say something like that except maybe another lunar lion. She only knew of three lunar lions, her father.... Which was very unlikely, her brother or... She looked up at the the male and a large smile grew on her lips. "Ilori." She said softly. Her voice quiet, it had taken that tone lately. Her voice became very quiet and sweet as she grew. She was also still on the small side like her mother, not growing that much from when he last saw her. She could feel happyness swell in her, but she wasn't too sure if she should get closer to him. She figured out her crush since the last time she saw him. She still had the rock he gave her. Now turned into a necklace that she had hanging loosely around her neck. "I haven't seen you in a while."

"I have been paying dues to my anti-pride and scouting the lands just to scout. I try not to become a pest by visiting moon phase." Ilori shook his head slightly, obviously now going back on his words. "That is, I mean... I'm not avoiding you or anything, I just...didn't want to be a bother. But I've missed our meeting and...Well, I see you still have the good luck charm. It looks great on you!"
Ilori was still Ilori, his stuttering not so bad as positive life experiences taught him to be more sure of himself, but he still thought too much of how he might sound to other and so fell back on his words occasionally. He took a few steps closer to see her better. "And yourself? How are you and your family? Is your brother still cantak--" Wait, she didn't know he had made a 'cantankerous' opinion of the boy, "--mm, around? So many lions catch the wandering bug!"

Alex smiled softly as he described what he was up to. She was very curious about it to tell the truth. But she tired her hardest not to seem that interested, she hadn't seen him in so long, she was interested if he thought about her lately... But her uninterested act really did not work. "Oh..." she looked down for a moment at his first words, a little hurt by that. "You wouldn't have been a bother.' She said her voice even more quiet than before. She then smiled softly at him, blushing slightly. "Thank you." She smiled softly again before flicking her hair out of her eyes.
She blinked a second as he got closer and blushed again. "Well. I'm doing good. Everything is really good." She didn't catch on to what he was talking about but dismissed the last word that he was saying. "I guess so." she giggled softly and looked down.

"Good, I'm glad everything is good." ... That was a lot of 'goods' to be said between the two of them in half a minute. "What about you? Have you any desire to wander?"
He hadn't missed her interest, nor her sudden shyness. Perhaps it wasn't sudden, maybe she'd just grown into it--now he wished he hadn't stayed off so much, he wasn't sure if she had naturally calmed down or if he was doing something wrong. Ugh.
He didn't want to sit in any sort of silence though, it made him think too much. "Because if you do, I could maybe be a bit of a guide for some parts of the land anyway. There's a great river that I like to follow that starts in the mountains, though I'm not yet sure where it ends, or where all its tributaries wander off to. I bet you'd be a good exploration mate, as advent--uhm." Ilori shook his head, as if warding off some pest buzzing around his head. "...as adventurous and resourceful as you've been."
Mate? Granted, it was a word borrowed from his brother-in-law to mean a friend. Ilori liked Kaewyn's more eloquent way of talking and had started to take some of it up. But had he had to use a word that made his mind double-think? Bad, babbling had been a bad idea.
"I mean, uhm, you know--I'm just babbling. You probably think I'm some strange ruffian or something, wandering around and talking about anti-prides when you've a stable home and doing good and all. I'm not some creepy stalker or renegade or kidnapper or anything...I'm just, you know, talking--I like talking to you." He shook his head, "--about you--about the land around the river."
Hush, Ilori. Trying to fix matters sounded worse than the first. By now, he about looked like he wanted to turn into an ostrich and stick his head in the dirt.

Alex looked at him and nodded. "I've been wanting to wander a little bit." She shrugged before smiling softly. "I want to wander more but I don't know where to go, besides I really don't want to wander that far away from my mother. But slowly I'm getting over that she has some one to be with her."
She was still blushing as he spoke. She wanted to tell him that she really liked him, but she wasn't that sure how to get out with it. How could she. For the longest time she was so much smaller than him. (Even though she was still just a little bit bigger than she was when she was a teen, still small.) She has just some what caught up in age as him and she felt like she could tell him. Then he said mate? It made her blush a little more. She was going to try to get more words in but the more he talked the more sweet things slipped out and also the more she blushed.
"I don't think that about you." She said her voice some what sounding like a squeak. She giggled softly as some of his word tripping. Thens he smiled up at him. "I'd really like for you to show me around the lands some. It would be nice company." She smiled softly as she looked down at her paws for a moment shyly

Ilori's tail waved slowly a bit as he thought. He looked over toward Alex Zander and her family's territory, then back at her. It took that second time looking over to really compute what her body language was saying. He stared a moment or two in surprise, then shook his head hard enough that his ears flopped. He had to just be reading into it too much. She was too well protected by her family to...to...
Ilori had always been very good at justifying the way he felt with "evidence" from the past and present. At least he had been good at justifying the denial of the deeper truths he knew. This time though, experience failed to justify denial.
But denial was so much easier to deal with!
"I would really like that." Swallow fear, don't lose another chance. It caused him to whisper, not really wanting to say so too loudly. "You really have been---ah--" He looked up at the sky, scratching a foot on the ground. "--Well, it'd be nice to show you the river-lands, and you'll always know how to get home, if you want to go home. That is... of course you would want to, heh, it's not like you'd want to stay with me forever or anything. Not until we got to know each other better, maybe! Wait, no--" He didn't just say that. Please just be that he thought really, really loudly. "I just---I wouldn't get you lost, I guess is what I'm saying. I do like you. --Your company. And it's always fun to see the land with new eyes."
Fear didn't go down very easily.

Alex Zander flicked her tail behind her as she watched him. She wasn't that sure of what to think. He was rambling again she wasn't that sure why until he got more into his rambling and at that point she blushed even more, it was most likely more than visible under her coat. She flicked her hair out of her eyes before she lifted a back paw and scratched behind her ear a she looked at him before smiling once more.
"Are you trying to say that you like me? And that you want me to travel with you?" She chuckled and looked down before she looke dback up at him with her blush returning once more. "Well... I really like you too. I always have, I started to realize it last time I saw you." she coughed quietly as she looked at him square in the eye, she was trying not to scare herself away, facing him and saying what she needed to say was a good start to that.

"No, no!" It was Ilori's immediate reaction, then he blinked.
What had she said? He let out a huff of relieved air. "I mean, yes and yes... That doesn't make me an extra-frightening old ruffian wanderer?" He finally smiled a little, already knowing the answer from what else she had said. "Could we? Your family wouldn't oppose and...and... come running after you? That would be really..." His mind blinked about fifty words he could use, so he let his sentence hang again. "I would love that. It... " How might the flowery-speeched son-in-law of his put it? "It would be one of the greatest pleasures I could have."
A little younger, and he might have spun around in the bolt of energetic enthusiasm at that. Instead he settled for an unconscious have-prance of his front two legs.

Alex looked at him exited for a moment that was until he said no. Her head angled down and her ears folded back. She couldn't believe that he had just said no... She was hurt, very hurt by it. But then she looked up as he spoke again. She blinked as he corrected himself. She looked up and shook her head. "No it wouldn't..." Her voice trailed for a moment before flicking her tail behind her.
"My mom and brother won't mind." She nodded to him before smiling. "As long as I visit every now and again." She giggled softly before blushing some and nodding. "I'd love it too." She spoke a again but a little more quietly nodding toward him before moving closer to him and licking his muzzle. "It sounds like fun." She smiled at him.

Afghahaowa! She'd licked him! It startled Ilori into taking a half step back with a back leg, just a milisecond before some heartstring inside had him taking a full step forward with a front leg. He nuzzled her cheek, not fully brave enough yet to return a kiss. Was this really happening?
"It will be. When--when would you like to go? Should we tell your mother? What would you like to see?" His bewildered look began to take on one of glad anticipation. "There are a thousand great sites, but they'll all be the better with you! This is---" He shook his head. "If this is a dream, I'm running right over here to get you again. You're the best."
He was bursting to say much more than that, but didn't have words for it. He instead settled for a grin and putting one paw by Alex's paw just enough so they were touching. Hadda make sure she was real standing there.

Alex blinked a bit as the male spoke. He was talking to fast. "Well before we go I'd like to tell my mom, I'm sure she would want to meet you." She flicked her hair out of her eyes before flicking her tail around behind her. "But Right now..." Her voice trailed for a moment before she nudged him with a smile on her face. "I'd like to spend some time with you, unless you really want to start heading that way now." She chuckled softly before she smiled at him.
"Either way I'm happy." She giggled again before nuzzling him once more. She wasn't completely sure about the idea of leaving home, before it never really crossed her mind however she wanted to at the same time. She knew her mother had some one to take care of her though she wasn't really that worried about it when she thought of it.

"Not really." Ilori admitted to her half-question about if he wanted to stay off. No, he was content also to stay by the lake and just marvel over all of this. And think about it... What was happening again?
He stood there, feeling awkward for a moment, before grinning and settling down at the edge of the lake, where he could put his front paws into the water should he like. "I'm sorry, I don't even know what to say now." He looked up at her, inviting with his eyes for her to settle next to him.
