User ImageA handsome faekat stood under the starry sky before a canvas that reflected all of it's colors. He sighed and put his paintbrush down. Monet's paintings always seemed to be missing something now. This was a perfect night and he should have painted something wonderful under the light of the enormous full moon, but nothing came out right, nothing came together. He looked at the painting with confusion, it was a good rendering of the stars, the colors were lovely and the composition was nice, but still something was wrong.

He left the canvas standing out in the open and went to sit under a tree to close his eyes for a while and muse. The night was warm and the crickets made a lovely song. He settled down, feeling a light breeze in his hair. The kat took a deep breath, taking in the scent of the night air, still everything felt so empty, he felt so alone. Where was his princess? "Ariel," he sighed softly, closing his eyes and seeing her face, he drifted off to sleep.

Could the wind of whispered her name as the faery with beauty and grace skimmed over the water playfully. Dipping here and there she waved her paw creating little ripples as they swirled and played among the surface. She paused with a smile as her wings touched upon the starlight pouring down around her.

If ever there was a pull that caught the female's attention it was this one. Gently she turned her head toward the east as her wings carried her. Feeling a magic that was something she knew well the female saw what called her so deeply. Flitting over with a softness she hovered over her long lost love as her paw brushed upon his cheek.

"Monet. My beautiful artist I've found you once again...." her voice sang lightly as her eyes shimmered bright. Even in slumber he was so beautiful lying there.

The handsome kat's eyes fluttered open at the sound of a musical voice singing sweetly to him. He felt as if he were in a dream as his starlight silver eyes focused on the angel who hovered above him. Without a word, he put his arms up to gently place them on her waist and pull her towards him, at once touching his lips in a soft kiss against hers.

"Oh how long I've wished for that," he said quietly as lips parted. He smiled softly, still holding her in his arms. "I love you, my princess." He was still dazed by sleep, and felt as if he were dreaming the most wonderful dream in the world, and yet his heart also knew that she was here, that this was real. Monet's heart filled with joy.

Her eyes were twinkling as her heart beat like a silver chime high within the heavens. Years it seemed, no ages that he had spoken to her if only in dreams. Feeling his paws around her waist she giggled softly then accepted the kiss she longed for day after day.

"Beautiful Monet who fills my heart with joy, had I not been listening to the gentle breeze would I not of heard your gentle call.

She smiled lovingly at him knowing an artist was simply standing still without his happy muse to keep him inspired. Same went for her family whom had literally split different ways when her mother had taken leave suddenly. Happiness was fleeting but now it had once returned finally.

"It has been ages my love but no matter now that you're here. My heart may sing a thousand verses and yet none are more reserved then for you" she sang for him in a single note that was light and airy.

"Tell me my love have you been painting? I think the one I most admired was the ones of the sky that you used to do. The ones where the stars glittered like a thousand diamonds within the darkness. Do you remember those special nights my dearest?".

If he hadn't been painting he most certainly would be now she was sure of it. Their happiness was a canvas in itself for nothing could take it away from either of them.

Monet smirked and nodded up towards the canvas that stood not that far away from where he had been napping. "I have been painting, but the stars have not been shining and sparkling for me as they used to," he said as he nuzzled his cold nose into her neck.

How he had missed the scent of her, the sound of her light melodic voice and her bell like laughter. His heart yelled out to him with inspiration, his muse was back and his passion came with her ten fold.

"The stars are sparkling now though, my love," he said, whispering in her ear, a tickling, teasing little whisper, meant to tickle her so that he could hear her laugh again. "I think they may be brighter then I have ever seen them before, my Ariel."

She smiled with a softness as her eyes brightened. Had she not listened to the sigh amongst the wind, the Princess would have never heard her dear heart who sought his perfect muse. Now as his heart beat faster in her presence Ariel knew his artistic voice was once again speaking loudly. To him no star would shine as urethral or bright as her own soul when she was by his side. This in turn made Ariel purr and giggle unlike any other.

"Shall you paint this night my love, all that was missing in my absence of your heart? So gallantly did your brushes touch upon that blank canvas that I remember life simply pouring outward. I feel sorrow for being away so long and yet looking in your eyes it seems to have been forgiven my dear one" she sang unto him as her hand reached upward to play with his silken hair.

Giggling like a child from her love she looked deeply into that huge canvas once more. To see him paint was something Ariel lived for along with her timid yet beautiful song she was born with.
